Following our stay at Shogetsu in Gero, we booked Umi no Shogetsu for our wedding anniversary trip. Both are located on a hill, and the view from the lobby was breathtaking. Binoculars were also provided in the Room. Every dish was delicious. What truly surprised us was receiving spiny lobster sashimi as a celebratory treat—we never expected that. The meat was wonderfully firm and had an exceptional flavor. We also enjoyed comparing Hida beef and Chita beef, not just seafood. For those who still wanted more at the end of the meal, both rice and soba were available, so we were fully satisfied with both quality and quantity. Even if you can’t finish your rice, they will make it into onigiri for a late-night snack. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of items, including five kinds of dried fish that you can enjoy in small portions. If I could make one request, it would be perfect if the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary. Recently, many Accommodations with an in-room bath offer free drinks in the fridge. That said, all staff members were kind and welcoming with warm smiles, and the Room was spacious. Having ReFa shower fixtures and a ReFa hair dryer was also a big plus. Next time, we would love to stay in one of the single-story Rooms.

We enjoyed a truly relaxing stay at Hotel de Marronnier. We sincerely appreciate the thoughtful hospitality of all the staff. We delighted in the flavorful breakfast and dinner, and felt refreshed by the impeccably maintained facilities, the salt bath, and the charming open-air bath. Even the Shuttle Service for our return trip was perfectly arranged—this is an exceptional Accommodation we would love to visit again in another season.

I chose this ryokan in Chita because I wanted to enjoy fugu, and their fugu dishes were introduced on the site. My room was upgraded, and during this season, I could see both the sunrise and sunset from the room, making it a truly wonderful experience (I uploaded photos of the sunrise and sunset). Yesterday, there were reportedly over 100 guests staying here, but today it was just us. We had the luxury of enjoying the onsen all to ourselves. I imagine yesterday must have been extremely busy for the staff like a "battle," so we felt grateful yet slightly apologetic for being able to enjoy such a calm atmosphere today. The hostess was very friendly and chatted with us during mealtime, allowing us to relax and have an enjoyable time. The onsen features a unique "stone bath" design where water flows beneath stones, creating a serene bathing experience. The indoor bath is slightly hotter while the open-air bath has just the right temperature—perfect for those who prefer either hot or milder baths. Personally, I loved the temperature of the open-air bath; it was perfect for me! The natural fugu we came here for was absolutely delicious as well. Overall, this accommodation offers a relaxing stay with plenty of time to unwind at your own pace!

From the moment we arrived, the subtle scent of incense in the air and the front desk staff’s beaming smiles left a lasting impression. The Room was spacious and spotless, and soaking in the in-room bath with orchid flowers floating on the water while listening to the sound of the waves was pure bliss. The meal began with exquisite sashimi, and we enjoyed being able to savor a variety of dishes little by little. Since we had mentioned that this trip was to celebrate my husband’s retirement, you kindly provided everything—dishes, dessert, and even a commemorative photo on a photo plate—as complimentary services, which truly moved us as a couple. The post-dinner event was also fun, making it a relaxing yet exciting and memorable one-night, two-day stay. Thank you so much to all of your staff.

The Room’s open-air bath was wonderful. The meals were more than enough for women; men might find them a bit light, but for those who drink alcohol, I felt they were sufficient. I think it would be better if breakfast times were staggered. The staff’s sense of distance also felt very comfortable to me. Sorry to mention this at the end. Thank you very much.

This was our third stay. For dinner, we chose the Local Bounty Kaiseki Plan with a large fried shrimp. Now we only have the Chita Peninsula and Ise Bay Bounty Plan left to try, and we would definitely like to choose it next time. We were able to relax again this time. Thank you very much.

I previously stayed at the Nagahama Inter location and liked it, so I chose this one this time. It’s reasonably priced, includes a private bath and shower, and offers light snacks such as frozen foods. There is also a free coffee machine at the front desk. If you just need a place to sleep, it has everything you need. I would stay again.

The staff were very friendly, and the Onsen was great with pleasantly salty water. The meals were exactly as shown in the photos—fresh and delicious—and the portions were generous. I would like you to prevent cigarette smoke from the smoking area from drifting over.

I chose this Accommodation because I wanted to relax in a bath with an ocean view, and it offers ocean-view rooms with private open-air baths. I later realized it was featured in the Michelin Guide (Tokai edition). There are many baths throughout the Accommodation—on the rooftop, on the 5th floor, two on the 3rd floor, and one on the 2nd floor—but unfortunately the 2nd-floor bath was closed on the day of my stay. The in-room open-air bath had plenty of hot water and a great view, and I enjoyed it very much. The 5th-floor bath is a reservable private bath in 25-minute slots, so it felt a bit rushed. On the 3rd floor, if it’s available you can lock it and use it privately; I used only one of them, and its semi-open-air style was best suited for washing up. I used the rooftop open-air bath after dinner—the gradient of colors in the sky was stunning, and I could even see an evening star, making for a truly beautiful experience; however... because there is nothing to block the wind on the rooftop, I felt very cold even during the short walk to the tub. You may want to choose your season if you want to fully enjoy it. The staff were cheerful and kind. I booked a Plan with breakfast and dinner; both meals were delicious and felt like just the right amount. Perhaps because everything paired well with alcohol, I got thirsty at night and drank water several times (I appreciated that cold water was provided in a pot in my room). The bedding was high quality and I slept well. Overall satisfaction was high—an Accommodation that made me want to return. One disappointing point—also mentioned by others—was that there were many marks on the tatami mats that looked like they came from dragging tables or other furniture around. Also as others have noted, there were some areas where cleaning seemed insufficient: higher spots and exterior sides of window frames looked like they hadn’t been wiped for quite some time. What bothered me most this time was that weeding around the open-air bath area hadn’t been done at all. It seems like it could be finished within an hour—or handled with weed killer—but since there don’t seem to be many young people locally and older staff appear to be running things mainly themselves, this may be easier said than done. Photos from when Game 16 of Ryuo Title Match (Season 16) was held here are displayed inside; you can see younger versions of Morishita Koji? Wait: Actually "森内、羽生" are Yoshiharu Morinouchi? It's "Morinouchi" vs "Habu". Alongside them is also a young Sugimoto Masayuki (8-dan), famous as mentor to Fujii Sota (six titles). Shogi fans—and especially Fujii fans—should definitely take a look.

I was amazed by the relaxed atmosphere of the Ryokan and the many delicious dishes—especially the abundance of fish—along with superb sake. The sunset and evening glow were incredibly beautiful and truly moving.

We used this place for our family’s first glamping trip. The dome-shaped tent was beautiful with an ocean view, and it came with a shower and toilet. We also enjoyed the Onsen, and the kids were thrilled. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed for three nights for the first time in 20 years. The Room hadn’t changed much since then, but the dining area had become much cleaner, and I gradually became friendly with the owner. My companion asked on a whim if they could make fried chicken from the menu, and they kindly did—it truly moved me. I’m not sure when it will be, but I would definitely like to stay again. The layout and furnishings were impeccably stylish—everything was perfect. It ranks among the best villas I’ve ever stayed in. They also responded to my questions very quickly, and I’d definitely love to stay again. However, perhaps because it’s close to the mountains or due to the season, it was a shame that the deck and terrace were full of insects at night. I also couldn’t use the open-air jacuzzi on the second floor at night. I understand it can’t be helped, though... Even so, it was such an amazing escape from everyday life that I still want to come back!

I had dietary requirements, and after informing them in advance, they accommodated me with great care and attention to detail. Every staff member provided excellent service, and I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much. This is an Accommodation I definitely want to visit again!

We stayed here for the first time over the three-day weekend in March. It was a wonderful Ryokan well worth the price. With only seven Rooms, it was completely quiet. The baths are not very large, but there is an open-air bath and it is more than sufficient for the number of guests. Our Room also had an indoor bath and an open-air bath, which made it feel special. The amenities are well stocked. The food was high quality, and the portions were plenty for a couple in our 60s. The service was neither excessive nor lacking—thoughtful and genuinely comfortable throughout. The Room and wash area felt a bit dark due to low lighting, but it did not detract from our overall rating. It was a highly satisfying Ryokan that we would love to visit again.

Needless to say, the food was outstanding, and although it differed from our previous visit, it was excellent. After serving the dishes, they did not interrupt unnecessarily, so we were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. Just like last time, the proprietress and staff were cheerful and full of energy, which made us feel very comfortable. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again.

As soon as we stepped inside, we were amazed by the gorgeous interior and how much closer the ocean was than we had imagined. The ocean view was truly breathtaking—an experience you don’t often get. The welcome drinks at check-in came in many varieties, which made it feel special and was perfect hospitality on a hot day. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared at the time we requested, so we could relax. For dinner, the BBQ included local meats, seafood, vegetables, and more, with explanations provided for each item. It was our first time using this type of grill, but the staff kindly showed us how to use it, so even beginners could grill everything deliciously with confidence. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and we were very satisfied with dinner. We usually have to prepare everything ourselves for a BBQ (including cleanup), so it was great that the Hotel took care of everything. After dinner, we enjoyed coffee while watching the sunset. Three types of coffee beans and an electric grinder were provided, along with instructions on how to use the grinder and recommended grind sizes—so we could enjoy freshly brewed coffee and spend a truly special time. There was a jacuzzi on the terrace bath area, and our kids were thrilled since it was their first time. The amenities for children included cute dolphin toothbrushes and sponges, which they loved. For adults, there were ReFa shower heads as well as a hair dryer, hair iron/curling iron tools? , hair oil? etc., leaving our hair smoother than usual—we were delighted. The croissants and roast beef at breakfast were also delicious. We would definitely like to stay again.

All the staff were very kind, and the hospitality was excellent. It was a very comfortable Hotel. I would definitely like to stay here again!

We enjoyed the delicious meals again this time. Our child was also very happy.

The Room feels modern and pleasant. Dinner was delicious, with a great variety of shrimp dishes. However, it was disappointing that the bidet did not work. It seems my friend’s Room also could not use the bidet, so it may need inspection.
