Both the interior and exterior are new, clean, and functional. The parking lot is spacious, making it easy to park. The beer and sake after a bath were excellent. I tried four types of sake, and all of them were delicious. All the meals were delicious as well—the Tamba black soybean tempura was outstanding. They also had everything I wanted to drink—beer, sake, wine, and shochu—so I ended up drinking a little too much.

The inn has a distinctive design, with no TV in the room and rather dim lighting... It allowed us to enjoy a different pace of time than usual. We booked dinner separately, and the food was incredibly delicious. The timing and pacing of each course were perfect, and we truly enjoyed everything—from the dishes to the presentation. It’s an inn that made us want to stay again in a different room. I think it is well worth choosing for both the stay and the cuisine. The calm hospitality and service also left a lasting impression. It was time spent enjoying peace and quiet.

This was my first stay after booking through Ikkyu, and it was a truly wonderful property. The breakfast in particular was absolutely delicious, and you could really feel the care put into each dish. It left the strongest impression on me during this stay—so much so that I’d love to return just for the food. All of the staff were pleasant and attentive, with just the right sense of distance, which made for a very comfortable stay. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, allowing me to unwind and forget about everyday busyness. Both the cuisine and service were excellent, making this stay even better than expected. I would definitely like to visit again in a different season.

It was our first time staying in a cultural heritage property, and it was a valuable experience for our children as well—we were able to enter places we normally wouldn’t, such as the tea room, Noh stage, and storehouse. It also allowed us to take a three-generation trip with our parents, who preferred not to travel far due to physical limitations, and we made wonderful memories.

I stayed at Oito Bettei. Preserving the atmosphere of a historic merchant house, the accommodation has been beautifully renovated with tasteful interiors and well-equipped facilities. Once inside, it was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, offering a relaxing stay that felt like living there. The kitchen was fully equipped with stylish tableware and utensils, including two types of coffee beans, allowing us to enjoy freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Although we didn’t cook dinner as there was a delicious Chinese restaurant nearby, we prepared snacks using local black soybeans (just released that day), persimmons, sweet green peppers, muscat grapes purchased during our stroll through the castle town. Paired with wine we brought along, it made for a leisurely evening in a quiet environment without TV—perfect for unwinding from daily life. The provided tableware was also elegant; simply tossing fruits and cheese we brought with olive oil and salt available at the accommodation created an effortlessly chic dish. The facilities were excellent—the bathtub allowed for stretching out comfortably; toilets and sinks were available on both floors; hairdryers were conveniently placed throughout—making preparations stress-free. If I may suggest one improvement: providing amenities such as cleansing products, face wash, or lotion would be appreciated. There are no convenience stores within walking distance and shops close early in the area. It’s advisable to prepare your shopping beforehand. However, this slight inconvenience added to escaping daily busyness and enjoying simple yet extraordinary moments. The staff were incredibly kind and offered various suggestions for how to spend our second day or places to visit nearby—making it an enriching experience overall. Tamba Sasayama is filled with delicious food alongside its serene townscape and warm-hearted people—a truly wonderful place. This is an accommodation I’d love to stay at repeatedly—a perfect base for exploring Tamba Sasayama! Thank you for such a lovely time—I’ll definitely return!

The stylishly renovated traditional house had a great atmosphere. Attention to detail could be felt in the Facility and amenities. Although there was an issue unique to traditional houses during heavy rain, it was promptly addressed, allowing for a very comfortable stay.

The renovated traditional house features a charming courtyard and tasteful interior design. With three spacious and clean bedrooms, it provided a wonderful setting for creating memorable moments with family.
