We stayed as a couple in our 50s.
Rather than a Hotel, it feels more like a charming pension-style place, which suits it well. The front desk gave the impression that they may be operating more efficiently than before, and that’s perfectly fine. The staff were all ladies older than us, so the pace was a bit relaxed—but in an endearing way. It felt warm and comfortable.
The Room was spacious, with Lake Biwa stretching out beyond the window. Since this area tends to feel cold, even in April they had a heater and blankets prepared.
We chose the Omi beef steak course. From the photos I wondered if it might not be enough, but it was very filling and satisfying. For breakfast, we were happy to be able to choose either Japanese or Western style. The curry was especially delicious!
The bath is not an Onsen, but it was kept very clean.
We went to see the Osaki cherry blossoms by the inlet.
Next time, I’d love to visit again during the season when the metasequoia trees are at their best.
