This was my first time visiting Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, and I stayed for one night. I was completely satisfied with everything—the Room, the meals, and the staff’s service. At night, I even saw a shooting star from the balcony. It is a quiet Accommodation where I could relax and unwind. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Perhaps because we stayed on a weekday when there were fewer guests, we were able to enjoy a calm and relaxing time. It was quiet and surrounded by the sounds of nature, and even our senior dog could play to their heart’s content. The meals also reflect a dedicated commitment to gastrotourism, showcasing great care and impressive skill. With only the essential services provided, we appreciated the kindness of being given space to relax freely.

It was our first time staying here. The ocean view from the Room was breathtaking. It was also great to watch the surfers having fun out on the waves. We brought two dogs with us, and they seemed to enjoy it as well. The staff were kind and helpful. Next time, we’d like to stay again with a two-meal plan. Thank you.

We searched for a well-reviewed Onsen with an ocean view and decided to stay here. From check-in to being shown to our Room, and even during meals, the staff always served us with a smile, making our stay very pleasant. The meals were very luxurious and absolutely delicious. The ocean-view terrace was also beautiful, and we were able to relax at our leisure. This is a Facility we would love to visit again.

Since there was no air conditioning, it was too hot to stay inside until the evening, but it was cool and comfortable at night. The toilet is a little far away, but it was clean. It’s dark on the way to the bath, so a headlamp is useful to have. The BBQ hamburgers were delicious.

The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. They patiently explained things I didn’t understand, and even made me coffee. Thank you very much. Regarding the Facility, while business Hotels generally don’t offer this, it would be helpful to have something in the Room to hang laundry when washing small items that don’t need to be taken to a coin laundry.

A hidden gem at our breakfast restaurant is the Fisherman's Bowl, also known as Mago Chazuke. Served in a special bowl with half a portion of white rice, namero (minced fish), shirasu (whitebait), pickled plum, grated yam, shredded seaweed, wasabi, and dashi broth. Perfect for those looking to replenish salt and energy during summer fatigue—give it a try! Enjoy it with the scent of the sea and ocean breeze! We have a suggestion: how about offering an "Ahi Creative Tuna Bowl" during lunchtime someday? GINGER or SPICY Ahi bowls are extremely popular in Hawaii. We believe it would be perfect for SAYAN's lunch menu and could become a hit dish. You can compare it to OFF THE HOOK or MAGURO SPOT—Ono!! Announcement! This was our first stay. With the ocean right in front of us and a pool to enjoy, it became an unforgettable memory. The kids especially loved the night pool. The next morning we had an early breakfast and headed out first thing; there were many different shops and we had a great time. After that, we tried On the Sea and enjoyed the beach and pool until lunchtime. We accidentally left something behind, but it was found the next day and mailed to us. We are truly grateful for your kind and attentive support right up to the very end. It was a wonderful family trip. Thank you so much! We would love to stay again.

The food was outstanding. For dinner, the splendid alfonsino, abalone, and spiny lobster were all delicious, and the portions were more than we could finish. Breakfast was also excellent—the spiny lobster miso soup was especially tasty. The relaxation room offered free ice cream and coffee, as well as electric massage chairs. While the exterior and some common areas were not very clean, the guest rooms and dining area had been renovated.

Although it was a basement Room, I was surprised by the high quality. The bathroom and toilet had a sophisticated design and felt very clean. I wished there had been a place to hang wet towels. It’s conveniently located right in front of the station, so I’d like to stay again. I was also satisfied with dinner at the izakaya inside the Hotel.

Perched on a hill in Katsuura, and with our Room on a high floor, we were thrilled by the Katsuura views from the balcony. The terracotta-toned living area also had a kitchen, refrigerator, and microwave, so we could relax in the Room at night with takeout side dishes we brought in. The sink area and toilet were both spacious and very convenient to use, and the bed was at a comfortable height so we slept soundly. The Onsen was free-flowing, with just the right temperature. The water felt silky and left our skin smooth; after soaking morning and night, my hip joints even felt more flexible. With breakfast included and a pool on site, it was an excellent value even during the busy summer season—overall a very satisfying trip. Just one thing: the toilet near the pool had a strong odor, which was bothersome.

We happened to stay right when the pool opened, but unfortunately the weather was terrible and we couldn’t swim. What a shame! Still, we were very satisfied with the Room atmosphere and the course meal, and we were able to relax thoroughly. We’ve visited Harvest in Nasu and Hakone (Sengokuhara), but it’s a pity that Katsuura doesn’t have an open-air bath. Sorry for being picky. We’ll be back again.

Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. There are no nearby houses, and although we had heard that muntjac sometimes damage the fields, we enjoyed a salad made with freshly picked lettuce and herbs from those very fields. I was hoping to see a muntjac. The bamboo grove behind the property was beautiful.

I’ve stayed at several Accommodations that welcome dogs, but this was the first place where I never once felt restricted “because we have a dog.” Surrounded by nature, it’s a truly soothing space for both people and dogs. I was amazed by the huge 1,200-tsubo lawn garden and even a pool where people can swim too. I was genuinely happy to be able to relax and let my dog roam freely. And I was surprised to be able to enjoy an Onsen in Chiba. What’s more, our Room had a luxurious open-air bath carved from a massive stone! Being able to enjoy the Onsen at any time without worrying about others was the best. Another great point for us was having a two-bedroom layout—an absolute must for our family. I never imagined traveling with our dog could be this comfortable, free, and luxurious… It truly was an amazing time. A wonderful Accommodation where both dogs and people can forget everyday life and fully unwind—we’d love to visit again.

I stayed here recently, and it was a truly wonderful Ryokan! Above all, the meals were incredibly lavish, and every dish was delicious. I especially loved the miso soup with spiny lobster. I got to fully enjoy the seafood and was completely satisfied! The proprietress was also very friendly and shared lots of stories with us. Rather than feeling like we were staying at a Ryokan, it felt like visiting a warm family home—such a welcoming, homey atmosphere left a strong impression. When I went out for an evening walk, she turned out to be very knowledgeable about constellations and taught me all sorts of things about them—another lovely memory. The Room was very spacious, and since it had just been renovated, it was clean and comfortable. The ocean view from the in-room bath and the balcony was absolutely stunning—I could have stared at it forever. It felt almost “a shame to sleep,” because I enjoyed such a luxurious time. It’s also close to the beach, so after swimming you can head straight to the Ryokan bath—another great plus. Everything flowed smoothly up to dinner time as well, so even after playing in the sea we could relax at our own pace. The Ryokan bath also featured beautiful carvings that showed real attention to detail, making it wonderfully soothing. I’d recommend this Ryokan for both family trips and getaways with your partner. If you want delicious food, a beautiful sea view, and warm hospitality, you should definitely stay here!

We stayed with 11 people across three families. IKYU only allows Reservations for up to nine guests, but when we contacted the property, they were able to accommodate us.\n\nBecause of the location, there are quite a few insects, but we even found stag beetles and enjoyed bug catching. If you like saunas, there is also a cold plunge pool, so you can really enjoy it.\n\nI recommend using the amusement floor even if it costs extra. The karaoke and darts machines were fairly new, and someone was playing throughout our stay. It wasn’t listed under the Facility details, but having an ice maker was a nice plus.\n\nThe dryer is a drum type, so large loads took some time.\n\nWe would definitely like to stay again.

We used this accommodation for a family trip with members including people in their 90s, a 2-year-old, and a pregnant woman, making it challenging to move around on a typical trip. The result was complete satisfaction. First of all, the jacuzzi, pool, and tennis court are aligned in a straight line, allowing us to watch everyone playing outside from the indoor sofa. This setup made it enjoyable for both those who wanted to stay active and those who preferred to relax without anyone feeling left out. Additionally, multiple tennis rackets and balls as well as pool toys were provided. Thoughtful amenities like body soap for toddlers and step stools were also available. Furthermore, having two washing machines and dryers made laundry stress-free during our stay with multiple families. As for the area surrounding the facility, places like the municipal pool and Onjuku Beach are within walking distance even for a 2-year-old. A nearby supermarket (Ootaya) was convenient too. When we went further to Beisia Katsuura store, we found fresh seafood at affordable prices and enjoyed grilling them on the barbecue table at the facility. The cleaning staff we briefly met were pleasant as well. It’s such a clean facility that we would love to use it again in the future. Thank you very much!

Just before summer vacation, we decided on a whim to take our dog and head to Katsuura as a family, and started looking for an Accommodation—then, miraculously, we were able to make a Reservation with Konta-san, and we couldn’t wait. The vast grounds and the stunning lawn were impressive from the moment we arrived! Stepping inside was even more amazing!! We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderfully soft wooden house, lovingly maintained down to every detail. Spending time with the friendly, animal-loving couple—and meeting their adorable goats and dogs—was pure bliss. We’ll definitely be back; next time we’d like to visit in winter. Thank you very much.

About 25 years ago, I visited the Katsuura Morning Market with my children and had a great time, so I went again this time. This time it was the three of us: my wife, my mother-in-law, and me. Both Katsuura Beach and the morning market were close by, so the location was perfect. There was no large public bath—only an in-room bath (available 24 hours)—and it wasn’t an Onsen, which was a bit disappointing, but my mother-in-law was very satisfied. Dinner was Japanese-Western (French? Italian?), and I felt a little sorry for my mother-in-law, but she seemed happy with it, so all good. The photos include some taken while we were eating and even after we finished (lol).

We came back for a second try to see the fireflies after missing them last year. Perhaps thanks to the good weather and temperature that day, we were able to enjoy a breathtaking display of fireflies like a sky full of stars—it was truly moving! Being welcomed by the cats was also very soothing. We’d love to visit again next year.
