My family and I have stayed at Yamagatakan many times, and we never get tired of it. The meals are plentiful, the futons in the guest Room are fluffy and comfortable, the warm green tea in the Room is delicious, and the Onsen is nicely hot and very relaxing. We also bought a cute Mameshiba plush as a souvenir—it’s adorable. My dad, my mom, and I all love Yamagatakan, and we’d like to visit again.

We were very satisfied with both the Accommodation and the meals. Especially for wine lovers, they offer food with wine pairings, so I highly recommend visiting. My spouse and I are both certified wine experts, and we had a wonderful time.

I considered staying on the Chichibu side to visit Mitsumine Shrine the next morning, but I booked here for easier access from the Yamanashi side. It turned out to be absolutely the right choice! I had checked the basic information through other guests’ reviews, but it exceeded my expectations and I was more than satisfied. Before visiting, I assumed its great reputation was mainly due to the food, but the entire property is kept spotlessly clean, which made me feel very comfortable. I had heard that bath towels were not provided, but there were hand towels in the changing area of the bath. Also, instead of an all-in-one shampoo/conditioner, they provided separate shampoo and conditioner along with body soap—thoughtful touches like this were everywhere. And then there’s the food! The basashi (horse sashimi) was by far the most tender and moist I’ve ever had, and every dish was seasoned in a way that really highlighted the quality of each ingredient. Both quantity and quality were outstanding with no compromises—I was completely satisfied. The okowa (sticky rice) served in the morning was also delicious in a way you can only experience here! I got stuck in traffic on my way home, but thanks to the okowa souvenir they kindly gave me at checkout, both my heart and stomach were happily full again. I also accidentally left something behind without realizing it, and they promptly sent it to me—I truly appreciate all their help. I hope this place continues for many years to come. I will definitely be back!!

We were able to relax even more than we expected. Our shy and timid dog was surprisingly at ease, considering it was a new place for the first time. The meals were interesting as well. Was it coarse salt? The salt provided in the irori room was incredibly delicious. It’s a real shame I forgot to ask where it was from lol. This is an Accommodation with very little interaction with the staff, but they replied quickly to questions via chat, so we didn’t feel any inconvenience. One thing: having one more face towel per person would make it easier to use. We’d like to visit again. Thank you very much.
