I made the mistake of thinking I had booked the same Room as before, not realizing it had been completely renovated, and only noticed after entering. I hadn’t read the description carefully enough.
It was my first time using a daybed, but it felt modern, and I’m satisfied with it in its own way.
As for the in-room bath, last time it rained and we got caught in the rain while using the open-air bath, but this time it felt easier to use than before.
However, adjusting the temperature is still a bit tricky.
The meals were just as satisfying as before in both portion size and taste.
Last time, simmered golden eye snapper was served at the end when I was already very full, so I couldn’t finish it, but this time it was served midway through and I was able to eat everything.
That said, the seasoning of the spiny lobster dish didn’t quite suit two elderly guests like us. It felt overly elaborate and seemed to mask the lobster’s natural flavor. For us, something simpler like sashimi or simply grilled would have been better.
Our attendant was a foreign national and did their best to explain each dish clearly, which we appreciated; casual conversation might be difficult though. It seems that staffing shortages have reached Hotels as well.
We were impressed that you greeted us right as we drove in upon arrival and saw us off at departure—service that remained just as attentive as last time.
If we have another chance to visit Izu, we would like to stay with you again.
Thank you very much.
