It was our first stay in a while, with seven family members including our grandchildren. As it was a long weekend, we expected it to be crowded, but we were still able to relax and had a wonderful time. Dinner was very filling and we were very satisfied. However, at the end of the meal we wanted to have coffee or tea, but it was quite crowded and took a long time, which was disappointing. We hope you can add more self-service machines for coffee and tea. We would like to visit again.

Located near Obihiro Station and close to the nightlife district, this Hotel offers an excellent location where you’ll never have trouble finding food or drinks at night. The parking lot includes a multi-story facility and partnerships, making it perfect for those who wish to park their car and head out again. The lobby, front desk, Onsen, and guest rooms are all exceptionally clean and well-maintained, providing a very comfortable stay. The Onsen features the famous moor hot spring water, which is a rare treat at this price point. Breakfast is served as a buffet packed with delicious specialties from the Tokachi region. Every dish was incredibly flavorful—truly impressive. Having visited Hokkaido multiple times before, I can confidently say that this Hotel offers some of the best cuisine in its price range. Additionally, when I contacted them later regarding forgotten items left behind during my stay, their response was extremely kind and thorough. Thanks to their attentive service, I was able to retrieve my belongings without disrupting my travel plans. This Hotel truly lives up to its name as a premier destination with outstanding rooms, dining options, and service—a perfect combination for any traveler!

This was my second visit. I felt the meals were even more satisfying than last time. When I asked, I was told that the proprietress herself stands at the service area. I truly felt your heartfelt hospitality. I also enjoyed the lovely flowers in the room and the charming children’s drawings displayed throughout. As I was drawing water outside before leaving, you kindly filled my brought-in plastic bottles at the sink—so much heavy water—and you also showed me a back route to Norikura Eco Line. It was an exciting road. Thank you for everything. The milky-white, wonderfully fragrant hot spring water lingered in its scent for quite a while. Hoping to visit again, wishing happiness to everyone there.

The Onsen in our Room was spacious, and it was relaxing to see greenery through the window. I also used the large public bath once; it had an open-air bath, ReFa hair dryers, and a drink bar in the changing area, which was a nice touch. We stayed in a dog-friendly Room, and it was very clean with no odor at all, so we were very comfortable. Since we had a Multiple Night Stay, I would have been happy to receive dog treats and water on the second day as well. I also couldn’t find any pet toilet sheets. The Nespresso and Mikado Coffee provided in the Room were much appreciated. Breakfast offered a great variety, and the dishes, juices, and fruit were all delicious. Next time, I’d like to visit when the weather is nice.

The front desk, the welcoming entrance, the views, the baths, and the staff were all wonderful. This was my first stay, but it’s a Ryokan I’d love to visit again. A few points I’d like to see improved: Regarding payment and the “Come Again Fukushima” Plan, I thought it would apply, but it turned out that only on-site payment was eligible and online payment was not. The application process is confusing, so it would be helpful if it were made clearer. There is no ramp at Fujita-no-Yu, so I would really appreciate it if one could be installed. I was truly comforted by the staff’s warm and natural greetings. I’m glad I could talk about local topics with the person who took care of our dinner. Thank you very much.

I arrived a little earlier than the expected arrival time I entered during the Reservation, but I was promptly picked up, which was very helpful as it was snowing. The Room was lovely, and the meals were extremely delicious. It was a trip for a special occasion, and I had a luxurious day that made it truly memorable. I would love to stay here again.

I was completely satisfied with my stay and truly felt, “I definitely want to stay here again.” First of all, all the staff were incredibly kind, and I was able to spend my time comfortably from arrival to departure. The Room was meticulously maintained and exceptionally clean. The open-air Onsen bath in the Room was a luxurious experience—I could enjoy the Onsen as much as I wanted, whenever I wanted. What stood out most was the outstanding cuisine. It featured an abundance of local ingredients, with such a wide variety that it couldn’t possibly all fit on the menu—and every dish was remarkably delicious. I could really feel the chef’s dedication and care. It was also very helpful that there were EV charging facilities. Being able to charge during my stay gave me peace of mind for the drive the next day. I’d love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

Close to the station, with an outlet mall just nearby, so the location is very convenient. Also, since we have children, we signed up for Picchio’s animal tour and insect tour within the Hotel and joined in. The guide explained everything carefully, and we enjoyed it a lot, so I highly recommend it. The Hotel grounds are vast, and shuttle buses run until late between Karuizawa Prince West, Animal, Hot Spring, and the outlet mall, which was very convenient. We woke up early and took a walk around the Hotel grounds. The fresh air was wonderful, and the sun filtering through the trees was truly soothing. The Onsen was great as well, and above all, all of the staff were very kind and pleasant—it really felt like they are well trained. I will definitely stay at this Hotel again.

I was very satisfied with the Hotel’s Facility, the staff service, and the dining options. In particular, the daily replenishment of drinks in the guest room, the spacious and comfortable large public bath, and the fireworks viewing area were excellent. However, the price was a little high. The only drawback was that the parking lot was a bit far away. I would definitely like to stay here again next time.

The friendly staff who chatted with us left a strong impression. There were plenty of chairs in the lobby, so we had no trouble even at checkout. The dishes were served at just the right times, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The Room was also a comfortable size. It was an ideal walking distance to Yubatake, and it wasn’t overly crowded, so we were able to relax and enjoy our stay.

I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen. Thank you very much. The Facility was clean, and the meals were excellent. I ended up eating too much, haha. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

We stayed here to celebrate my father’s 88th birthday. Only my parents stayed overnight; after I escorted them to their Room, I left. The proprietress remembered that it was for his 88th birthday and arranged a surprise celebration with the staff. Both my father and mother were truly delighted, and I’m told it became a wonderful memory—thank you very much. This is a lovely Ryokan with exceptional hospitality.

Although the weather was fine down below, up in the mountains it was foggy and rainy, so unfortunately even after taking the ropeway it was a completely white world. The open-air bath at the mountain Hotel was great. I was especially lucky to see Mt. Yari appear above the clouds from the mixed-gender open-air bath where you wear a bathing garment. Next time, I plan to come in October to observe the starry sky.

My family requested a trip to Kamikochi and Shirahone Onsen, so I made a Reservation at the long-admired Awanoyu with its milky-blue waters—and they were thrilled. When we arrived, we were impressed by the thoughtful attention to every detail, and by the chef’s outstanding dishes featuring local ingredients and seasonal flavors. The Onsen was unlike any we had experienced before, leaving both body and mind completely refreshed. We were also deeply moved by the understated hospitality of the proprietress and all the staff. We’ve found an Accommodation we want to return to right away. Thank you for such wonderful memories!!

Just as the Reviews said, I felt truly at ease thanks to the well-maintained, spotless Facility and the sincere support from the staff. It was a stay by Japanese people, for Japanese guests. Thank you very much.

All staff were efficient and provided pleasant service. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

We stayed on August 1–2, 2026! The Room (depending on the Plan, I assume) felt like it could have been a bit deeper and wider, but it matched the photos online. This was our first stay at Taoya as a family of four, including a second-year university student and a second-year high school student. We loved the all-inclusive free drinks (including alcohol) throughout our stay, plus the welcome dessert (the mini Mont Blanc was freshly piped on the spot). At dinner buffet, there were shake salads, freshly grilled and carved steak, and each table had a small burner for mini hot pots. There were also pasta and pizza, and even late-night snacks included in the Plan—everything was excellent in both taste and portion size. Breakfast was also buffet-style with build-your-own rice bowls, grilled fish using the tabletop burner, and freshly baked mini apple pies brought around to each table (they’re seriously piping hot, so be careful when eating). Our whole family was very satisfied. At dinner one night while we were taking a selfie with an outstretched arm, a staff member kindly offered to take our photo—an extra touch that made us even happier. The location was great too: easy access to Momiji-dani Suspension Bridge and the Nasu Highlands area, and Nikko is just over an hour away by expressway. Since it’s in the mountains we were worried about insects, but they didn’t bother us at all—we didn’t even encounter any during an evening walk (to the nearest suspension bridge), at the open-air bath on the 4th floor, or in our Room. The only insect we really noticed was dragonflies flying around the courtyard; little kids seemed to enjoy having them land on their fingers. Personally, I especially liked the courtyard bonfire! Thank you very much—we’d love to come again if we have another chance. (*Menus and types of insects may vary depending on season and timing.)

We stayed in a Japanese-style Room with a private open-air bath fed directly from the source. First, about the Onsen: the open-air bath in our Room was truly luxurious and easy to access from the Japanese-style Room. Even though it was still a bit chilly seasonally, we were able to use it comfortably. The large public bath is located in a secure area inside the building, and although we stayed just before a holiday weekend and had it almost to ourselves, we never felt uneasy about safety. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath were very comfortable. As a result, we enjoyed going back and forth between the private open-air bath in our Room and the large public bath many times! Next, about the meals: dinner was very filling, and we enjoyed a wide variety of local ingredients from appetizers through to the main course. The luxury items—especially grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) marinated in yuzu sauce and Noto beef—were beyond what we had imagined. Breakfast also offered various delicious “rice companions” that paired perfectly with great rice, so we thoroughly enjoyed it. Since this is not a new building, I was initially concerned about heating and other measures against the cold, but there were no issues with temperatures either in our Room or throughout the Facility. We were able to relax comfortably in a spacious, clean, calm Japanese-style Room. We had packed plans for the next day as well, so we left early on the first Shuttle Service bus; looking back, I think it would have been nice to take things slower at this Accommodation. There aren’t many places to visit right around this Accommodation, but we did enjoy short walks such as Rosanjin’s Iroha Soan and around an atmospheric public bath area nearby. Access is also reasonable: it’s about 10–15 minutes by Shuttle Service bus from Kagaonsen Station (and it takes only around 5 minutes from getting off the Shinkansen to boarding). There isn’t a lobby café or trendy services like breakfast buffets that you often see these days; however, for anyone who wants to unwind at a calm Ryokan with an old-fashioned sense of comfort and security above all else, I can highly recommend this Accommodation. It may also be because we splurged somewhat on a good Room option they prepared for us, but overall my spouse and I were completely satisfied—we couldn’t find anything to fault. Lastly, thank you very much to our attendant for your warm hospitality. We would love to stay again.

My husband, daughter, and I travel to Hokkaido every year, and this time we visited Jozankei Onsen for the first time. We had imagined it as an Onsen area popular with large tour groups, but this Ryokan was run by a small team and their service was outstanding. It was the first time in a while that we truly enjoyed both our stay and delicious meals at a Ryokan. Not only the Japanese staff but also the international staff were highly professional in the way they spoke and in their knowledge of the cuisine (ingredients, cooking methods, etc.), and you could clearly see how diligently they are always learning. The lounge on the second floor offered light snacks, late-night bites, and tasty drinks throughout the day, which we enjoyed after bathing. The three of us stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. We have a few minor comments about how the Room is partitioned and that there is no screen on the open-air bath window, but the free-flowing hot spring water from the source was excellent. We didn’t know there was such a Ryokan in Jozankei Onsen where individual travelers could enjoy themselves so much. We would love to visit again in another season.

I visited with a friend who loves traveling. This was my third stay, and as always, the food was excellent, and the Onsen was amazing. My friend, visiting for the first time, also enjoyed it and went to the bath twice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
