This is my third year traveling to Kusatsu Onsen in summer, and I was finally able to stay at Naraya as I had long hoped. The free-flowing Onsen from Shirahata Gensen was wonderful, and I enjoyed it many times. The Room was clean, and the meal was excellent—especially the sushi served at the end, which was so delicious that I left completely satisfied. I felt there were many younger staff members, but everyone greeted me with a smile, making it a great trip. I would definitely like to stay again.

This was a Hotel I had wanted to stay at for a long time. At check-in, I was offered an upgraded La Vista Room. The moment I entered the room and saw Sakurajima and Mt. Kaimondake side by side in the center of the window, it was truly moving as someone from Kagoshima Prefecture. The hospitality, meals, Onsen, and Facility exceeded my expectations. I would definitely like to stay here again, and I want to recommend this place to friends and acquaintances.

It was my first visit in 13-14 years. This time, it coincided with the first snowfall, but luckily the weather was clear and sunny, making for two perfect days of snowy scenery. The air was crisp, offering breathtaking views and a wonderful experience in the snow-viewing bath

From the moment we arrived until we departed, every moment was comfortable and truly luxurious. We were delighted with everything—the atmosphere, the room, the bath, and the meals—but above all, the attentive hospitality and thoughtful care from all of the staff made us want to return again. I am left-handed, and at dinner on the first night I moved my chopstick rest myself. Then at breakfast the next morning, my chopstick rest had been set up for a left-handed guest, which truly moved me...! Thank you so much for noticing even such a small detail.

On my way back from a business trip to Tokyo, I planned a visit to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which I had long wanted to see. I stayed one night at an Accommodation in Kinugawa Onsen. I chose it after searching with conditions such as having an in-Room Onsen bath and being reasonably priced. The lobby was well maintained, and the hallways were very clean as well. Our Room had an Onsen bath and two separate rooms, so my wife went to the large public bath while I enjoyed the in-Room bath. The meals were very delicious, and the portions were just right—slightly on the generous side. It was a quiet Accommodation where I could relax in the Onsen, which was wonderful. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but everyone was polite and courteous. One thing that concerned me was that when I opened the window by the in-Room bath, there were quite a few spider webs. Also, insects gathered on the window at night so we couldn’t open it; I thought that if there had been a screen door or similar, we could have opened it. If I have another chance to visit nearby, I would like to stay again.

This was our first stay as a couple with our dog. From the moment we arrived, the owner and all the staff welcomed us with thoughtful care and warm smiles, and any tension quickly melted away, leaving us feeling at ease and at home. We were soothed by the free-flowing natural hot spring Onsen in our room, and enjoyed the calm retro-modern atmosphere throughout the property that felt like stepping into an anime or fairy-tale world. While savoring outstanding, healthy, locally sourced cuisine, we could almost feel impurities gently leaving our bodies and energy returning. We were able to truly relax both body and mind. We will definitely be back.

The moment I stepped into the building at check-in, the stylish lobby raised my expectations. The Room we were shown was not only chic with a modern Japanese touch, but also spacious and relaxing. Some Accommodations look great but have cheap furniture; here, you could really feel the quality and attention to detail in the furnishings, which made it even more comfortable. The in-room bath was fed directly from the hot spring source, and the washing area was roomy—there was no need to use the large public bath. I ended up bathing four times in one night. Even details like the hair dryer and shampoo amenities showed thoughtful selection. The meals were excellent, especially dinner. They made great use of local ingredients; every dish was creative, original, and delicious. There aren’t many Accommodations that make me want to return, but this one truly did. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming.

On my first trip to Kusatsu Onsen, I stayed for two nights in the private open-air bath guest room “TAKASAGO.” Guest Room (TAKASAGO) The layout is wonderfully spacious, with the bedroom and tatami-style living area separated, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Personally, I felt the room was a little dim due to limited natural light depending on its orientation, and I would have loved a larger sofa where you can really sink in rather than a low table—but overall it was an expansive, truly luxurious space. The tatami room with the low table faces a private garden and had a lovely sense of traditional charm. The maisonette-type rooms looked brighter and seemed to have more comfortable sofas as well, so I’d like to try one next time. Onsen Two different hot spring sources—Jizo Gensen and Bandai Kosen Gensen—are supplied here, making for an indulgent bathing experience. In addition to enjoying high-quality spring water anytime in the in-room open-air bath, the three private reservable baths each had their own distinct character and conveyed refined Japanese aesthetics. I thoroughly enjoyed soaking in Onsen throughout my stay. In particular, I loved “AWASE,” where three tubs are lined up from low to high temperature so you can experience a traditional bathing method—I went back again and again. Breakfast As dinner service was suspended during my stay, breakfast was the only meal offered—but its quality was outstanding, easily on par with dinner. I often stay at cuisine-focused Ryokan, and this was among the best I’ve experienced: creative composition of dishes, cooking that brought out the best of each ingredient, and thoughtful selection of tableware that elevated every course. Hospitality & Service The staff’s attentiveness and perfectly balanced approach—present when needed but never intrusive—left a strong impression and made my stay very comfortable. While there are a couple of minor preferences regarding the guest room setup, overall I was extremely satisfied with every aspect: Onsen, food quality (breakfast), and hospitality. I would absolutely love to return when visiting Kusatsu again.

Since my femur fracture, we’ve been staying in a Room with an open-air bath, and we’re completely satisfied with the meals, the Room, and the bath. The staff are wonderful as well, so we keep coming back. It’s a bit far away, but it’s our couple’s motto: “For birthdays, we come here.”

I stayed here at the end of my trip to Hokkaido. The places I stayed before were wonderful as well, but this Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel was outstanding. Every dish at the buffet was delicious. I wanted to try more, but I got full and couldn’t eat everything, which I still regret a little. The kamameshi rice was especially good, and the meat was excellent too—in fact, everything I tried tasted great. When I went to the Onsen early in the morning (just after 5 a.m.), I saw staff baking bread. I had some at breakfast, and it was also very tasty. The moor Onsen had a gentle natural scent and a wonderfully silky feel on the skin; one night wasn’t enough. This time I couldn’t take my time sightseeing around Tokachi, so I would love to come back again next year. More than anything, what left me with such a great impression of the Hotel was an employee at the souvenir shop “Tamatebako.” The trainee wearing a training name badge had an amazing smile and provided excellent service. When I told them how pleasant they were, they responded with another lovely smile. Of course it comes down to personal qualities as well, but it also made me feel that the Hotel’s management philosophy must be excellent for staff like this to grow here. All of the other staff were wonderful too, and it reminded me that not only the Onsen and food but also people’s hospitality is what truly shapes a trip. Thank you for helping me make such great memories—I would like to stay again next year as well.

The Hotel was not far from Obihiro Station, yet it was quiet and surrounded by trees. Thank you for accommodating my companion’s food allergies even though we informed you at the last minute during dinner. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy every dish without leaving anything behind, all rich with flavorful dashi. In addition to the unique texture of the Moor Onsen, there was also an open-air bath, and I ended up soaking for a long time. The delicious meals in a calm atmosphere and the pleasant Onsen soothed our bodies after a long journey.

The building is showing its age, but it is carefully cleaned, and the furniture and furnishings are well maintained. The ikebana arrangements are beautifully displayed and are said to be rearranged each time by the staff. The chef is from Nemuro and sources fresh seafood from there. The vegetables and meat are locally sourced from within Hokkaido. Every time, both the presentation and the flavor are excellent, and we enjoy our meal with genuine admiration. We plan to visit again next year to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We stayed here on this trip, and it was a thoroughly satisfying stay in every way. Breakfast exceeded our expectations as well. The rice was truly delicious—both my wife and I ended up having seconds. It was a fantastic breakfast that made for a great start to the day. The Onsen was also excellent; not only the large public bath but even the bath in our Room was more than satisfying. My wife especially loved the in-room bath and said it made her want to soak again and again—she enjoyed it to the fullest throughout our stay. We also enjoyed Kyoritsu Group’s signature late-night soba, which became one of our evening highlights. Above all, what impressed us most was the warm and courteous service from all staff members. We felt comfortable throughout our stay and could sense their genuine hospitality everywhere. This was a wonderful Onsen Accommodation that truly made us want to return. We’re grateful to everyone on staff for helping us spend such precious time here, and we would love to visit again in another season.

Thanks to the information you shared by email in advance, we were able to arrive smoothly at Yukaen by shuttle bus on the day. Check-in was explained carefully, and we stayed comfortable throughout. We considered sightseeing on the second day, but since we had fully enjoyed Chuson-ji on the first day, we decided to focus on relaxing in the Onsen instead. We booked a head and hand course at Nagomi-yu for day use, had lunch, and spent a leisurely time. The fried shrimp and minced meat cutlet I ordered for a daytime drink were impressively generous portions and delicious. The lounge pancakes were also great—I finished them in no time. Dinner on the second night featured a different menu from the first, so we enjoyed a fresh atmosphere as well. The guest-focused hospitality was truly pleasant, and my friend and I left saying we'd love to come back again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

I was able to stay for one night after being on the waitlist. As others have written, both the Onsen and the meals were wonderful. The Room was spacious and thoughtfully prepared, and the bed was large and very comfortable, so I was able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, but this was the first one that felt absolutely flawless! I fell in love at first sight with the stunning rock bath scenery on YouTube and made a Reservation for the Yoimachi Room. The open-air bath was spacious, and the view from it was so breathtaking it nearly brought me to tears. The hot spring water was silky-smooth, and my skin felt amazing! The food was also delicious, and even the rice tasted exceptional. The nikujaga served at breakfast was so good that I’d love to ask—if you don’t mind—whether the soy sauce you use is light soy sauce or a type used mainly in Kyushu. The Room was wonderfully quiet as well, and I could truly relax. I definitely want to come back for a special occasion. Next year, I’ll visit one of your sister properties too.

During a weekend of heavy rain brought by the autumnal rain front, I was finally able to stay at a long-established Accommodation in Unazuki Onsen. I could feel the president’s and proprietress’s heartfelt hospitality in every detail. Soaking in the open-air bath while watching the swift flow of the Kurobe River, enjoying dishes that highlighted seasonal ingredients and beautiful tableware, and experiencing excellent service—all were wonderful. At the Selene Museum of Art, I was able to view magnificent paintings of Kurobe Gorge while overlaying them with the scenery from the trolley train window. It truly healed my body and mind from within, so I would love to return to experience again this Onsen culture that blends wellness and tea ceremony.

We arrived after climbing the slope of Mt. Daisen for a while in light rain and mist. Seeing the word “Church,” we hesitated for a moment, but when we opened the wooden lobby door, we found a charming space unified in an antique style—like stepping into a Kenji Miyazawa story. You can truly feel how much the owner couple and staff value and care for their guests. Once shown to our room, the fog gradually lifted, revealing beautiful views of Yonago’s cityscape in the distance, along with the Sea of Japan and Lake Nakaumi. The open-air bath on the terrace was pure luxury, soaking while taking in the spectacular scenery. Dinner was exceptional both in presentation and taste. We also enjoyed chatting with the dining staff, and the timing of each course was perfect. In this quiet natural setting, we spent blissful time that felt well beyond its price. A highly recommended Accommodation.

It may sound a bit exaggerated, but it felt like going back to my family home—catching up on how things have been lately and, if the mood struck, stopping by places I was recommended. Meals were unpretentious, and bathing felt just like soaking in our own tub at home. I was able to truly relax.

I love Niigata in midwinter, but I also really enjoy Niigata in the season of wild mountain vegetables after the snow melts. In terms of Onsen Ryokan within the prefecture, I have previously stayed at Satoyama Jujo, HATAGO Issen, ryugon, Hinano Yado Chitose, and Rankei-so. Each Accommodation was unique and charming, and this time I was finally able to visit Shiki Yuzawa QUATTRO, which I had been curious about for a while. As you can probably tell from the above, we travel around various Accommodations because we like places with great food. From that perspective—this is how my spouse and I both felt—the breakfast side dishes were good, but not “exceptionally delicious.” As for the seaweed (“nori”), it had a color and taste we had never seen before, which made us wonder: had this processed product changed over time? Or is this its intended final form in terms of appearance and seasoning? It left us feeling a bit uneasy. Perhaps for guests who usually select ingredients carefully and cook at home on a regular basis, it may not be especially impressive. That said, we truly appreciate that they prepared such a large number of dishes at the in-room chair-and-table seating area and offered their very best hospitality. We felt they were doing everything they could to provide a comfortable stay despite limited staff and time. We would recommend it more to guests with a hearty appetite who have no concerns about their legs or knees. This is because getting into a bathtub without handrails can become difficult as you get older. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath in the room continuously supplied Onsen water, so we could soak at a comfortable temperature again the next morning. We also enjoyed relaxing on the second-floor terrace. Since this season is neither too hot nor too cold—and there are no bugs—why not plan a trip now? The room seemed renovated and was very clean, and there was also a hair straightener in addition to the hair dryer. We were satisfied with the amenities!
