From the moment we arrived until we left, the hospitality was truly wonderful and deeply impressed us. The proprietress quickly remembered my daughter’s name and even came to greet us at dinner, and the staff who served our meal had such warm smiles. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. We were also able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen. I was happy that we could take a photo with the proprietress when we checked out. We would love to visit again, and we appreciate your continued hospitality.

I caused you a great deal of trouble, but everyone spoke to me so kindly that it truly helped me. The price is almost too low! The in-room lotion was my favorite brand, there were two sinks, and both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It was a shame there was no view from the open-air bath, but I found myself hoping—thinking from the owner’s perspective—that your service will continue just as it is so you won’t lose guests until the construction is finished. Even without a view from the window, this is a wonderful Ryokan. Thank you very much for everything.

This was my first stay in Yufuin, and I chose this Accommodation. The staff’s hospitality was very pleasant, and both dinner and breakfast were a delight—each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making it a truly blissful time. The Onsen was wonderful as well; after bathing, my skin felt silky smooth. Another Accommodation I’d love to visit again has been added to my list.

The carefully prepared, healthy cuisine, the clean and stylish Room, the luxurious amenities, and the bath where you can soak while listening to the gentle murmur of the river—everything was deeply satisfying and made for a truly wonderful stay. What left the strongest impression was the hospitality of all the staff. There were several international staff members as well, and seeing them serve guests earnestly in Japanese and make an effort to embrace Japanese culture was heartwarming and put me at ease. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

I stayed here with my child. The building blends beautifully into a quiet, peaceful town, and its wonderful atmosphere instantly soothed both body and mind after a long day of walking. I’m sorry for the late review, but thank you very much for providing such a wonderful night. The hot spring bath in the Room was incredibly soothing, and I ended up soaking in it many times. Above all, the Accommodation’s main highlight—the meal—far exceeded my expectations in both flavor and presentation, and I was truly satisfied. Not only was everything delicious, but it was the first time I’ve ever felt that eating could be this much fun. I was genuinely moved from the bottom of my heart. Partway through the meal, my chronic condition suddenly worsened and I had to excuse myself; thank you again for kindly bringing the final dessert to my Room—I would like to express my sincere gratitude here once more. This is an Accommodation I absolutely want to return to. I’m really looking forward to the day I can visit again.

I was completely satisfied with this Accommodation! This was my first stay here. After reading Reviews in advance, I saw comments saying it was like a “stink bug Accommodation,” so I braced myself. But it wasn’t like that at all—there were a few stink bugs, but for an Accommodation surrounded by nature, having some insects is only to be expected, and it didn’t bother me. I almost felt sorry that the staff kept apologizing for the stink bugs. The food was absolutely delicious, and I’m very grateful that they sincerely accommodated an unexpected situation where I had to step away in the middle of the meal. The Room had a calm atmosphere with plenty of traditional Uchiko washi paper used throughout, and I was able to relax deeply. Breakfast also had a fun concept where you can compare three different types of eggs—I loved it! This is an Accommodation I’d gladly go out of my way to stay at again!

The three of us—my spouse, my sister, and I—had a relaxing stay. The Room was clean, and the Onsen was at a comfortable temperature, so we enjoyed soaking many times while looking out at the sea. The meals were all delicious, and even the grilled fish at breakfast was prepared in an easy-to-eat way. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and all three of us finished everything. My best friend and I stayed for one night in a suite. The staff’s service was outstanding, and we received such warm, heartfelt hospitality. The meals were just as delicious as we’d heard—no, even better than expected. When you travel, you want to enjoy local specialties, right? The dishes here use plenty of ingredients from Chiba, and enjoying them while looking out at the sea of Chiba is pure luxury… simply unforgettable! We were told the ingredients change with the seasons, so next time I’d love to visit in a season other than summer. Also, if anyone planning to stay is reading this Review, please be sure to check out the booklet on the bedside table: a hand-written guide by the proprietress introducing Chiba and providing information about the Accommodation. Each page is carefully made, and it really conveyed her love for the Accommodation and her warm hospitality—it left a lasting impression. She also left us a note with the sunrise time, so we woke up early and watched it from the Hotel deck. It was truly beautiful, so I’m attaching photos from that moment. It became an unforgettable trip to Kamogawa. Thank you very much!

A trip to Nara in the heat. But staying at this wonderful Accommodation helped me recover from the fatigue. I had written a birthday message for my friend, and they even surprised us by celebrating at breakfast. All of the staff were kind. This has become one of the Accommodations I’d like to stay at again.

True to its claim of being an “auberge,” this Accommodation’s cuisine was genuinely outstanding. The presentation, tableware, and seasoning—everything was superb, and I’d rate the food among the very best of anywhere we’ve stayed. We were told even the small details, like dressings and ponzu sauce, are handmade, and you could feel the care put into every single dish. Each piece of tableware had its own character as well, making it a feast for the eyes. The dining area features calm table seating that feels like semi-private rooms. Each course was explained carefully, and my husband and I were so impressed we lost count of how many times we said “delicious” and “amazing.” The portions were more than enough—we were both completely full. We also ordered the recommended extra horse sashimi, which was excellent. Breakfast is Japanese-style as well—beautifully arranged like a kaiseki set—and we were very satisfied with everything from a salad made with fresh local vegetables to drinkable yogurt and even after-meal coffee. My husband was especially impressed by how good the rice was, while I really enjoyed the rice porridge. The Onsen is true free-flowing natural spring water; every time we entered the bath, hot water overflowed generously from the tub—a luxury we enjoyed again and again. The two private baths are also spacious and felt wonderful. You can sense some age in the building and Facility features, but everything is well maintained and spotlessly clean throughout. That said, the air conditioner is an older model and difficult to adjust; in particular, it was hard to control airflow in the upstairs bedroom of our maisonette room type, which was a bit disappointing. Also, for greater peace of mind regarding hygiene, it would be reassuring if the in-room fabric slippers were either disposable or came with clearly indicated sanitation management. All staff members were courteous; their explanations—even for delicate details about each dish—were easy to understand, and we never felt any stress in communication. There were a few minor Facility-related points that stood out, but they were more than outweighed by our satisfaction with the cuisine, Onsen experience, and service. The food especially left such a strong impression that my husband and I still talk about how truly delicious it was. It was late summer then with lively cicada songs still filling the air—but we would love to return to enjoy seasonal dishes at another time of year as well.

My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your heartfelt hospitality during our three-day, two-night stay. Every dish made with local ingredients was deeply flavorful, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was so soothing it felt as if both body and mind were gently unwinding—my spouse and I were truly refreshed. On the second day, we enjoyed a full round at a golf club near the Accommodation. Although it was extremely hot, the Onsen we had upon returning eased our fatigue, and once again we were reminded of how wonderful BeniyA’s hot spring water is. Also, whenever we encountered your warm smiles and greetings—especially from the attendant in charge of us—we felt at ease. Even a brief word when passing in the hallway showed such thoughtfulness, and we are sincerely grateful that we could spend our entire stay so comfortably. In addition, hearing from the proprietress about the kitchen knives left a strong impression on us—particularly as it came just after seeing news about a female figure skater receiving Japan’s People’s Honour Award. On our way to the large public bath, we caught a glimpse of the kitchen area and felt anew that these knives support your delicious cuisine every day. This trip became a cherished memory for us as a couple. We would love to visit again in another season—and next time, we hope to enjoy winter crab delicacies.

This was our first stay here, and among all the places we’ve visited, it was the best Accommodation for Western-style cuisine. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality from welcome to farewell. The Room (very relaxing) and the bath (the in-room bath was more than enough) were both excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented (including the tableware) and delicious, and we were amazed by how many items there were in the Japanese breakfast (we finished everything). We will definitely visit again during the autumn foliage season. One request: it would be nice to have body wash towels available in the bath area.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve been looking for an Accommodation that doesn’t serve meals buffet-style, and we chose Ayameya Ryokan based on its great Reviews. Throughout the property—not only the Room, but also the baths, changing area, and toilets—everything felt impeccably clean. The meals were full of thoughtful touches, such as a creatively arranged chawanmushi and tempura enjoyed with miso. It was quite a generous amount, but it was so delicious that we finished everything. The breakfast rice porridge was also a welcome treat. The Onsen had soft, gentle water, and I was able to soak slowly as if it were a private bath without running into other guests. (The open-air bath felt a little lukewarm for me.) I’d been staying mostly at large Hotels lately, so this time I truly experienced how wonderful a Ryokan can be thanks to the cheerful proprietress and the attentive hospitality of all the staff. It became an unforgettable Onsen trip—simply the best! To the proprietress: please take good care of yourself, and I hope you also get chances to relax and be pampered from time to time.

I planned to share the Room name as part of a birthday message for him, and the Ryokan kindly helped by arranging a bouquet in the Room. Then, on the day, they upgraded our Room, which also made my message to him even more special, and it became a time that brought us even closer (lol). The staff were very kind, and since the bath was private to our Room only, we were able to relax and enjoy our time together. I would definitely like to stay again! Thank you very much.

When I come to Yufuin again, it’s not just that I want to stay in Yufuin—I want to visit Yufuin so I can stay at this Accommodation.
