I stayed here solo just before the Obon holidays. The detached Room was very spacious, and I really enjoyed the Onsen a lot! I didn’t use the stairs connecting the scenic-view bath to the open-air bath because they felt a bit unstable, and it was scary being able to see below. Dinner had many dishes, and I ate until I was full. It was delicious, so I finished everything. The breakfast basket was adorable. I ate a lot as well—thank you for the wonderful meal. I was very satisfied because I could stay for just over 40,000 yen as a solo traveler! I always brew and drink rooibos tea, so having a Daiohs water dispenser was really appreciated! For future improvement: as others have mentioned, it would be great if the glass windows in the scenic-view bath were kept cleaner so you can enjoy the view more. Also, the door leading from the scenic-view bath out to the wood deck seemed to fit quite poorly. If staying at full price, I feel maintenance should be improved a bit more. It’s a small thing, but having some local drinks in the refrigerator would add a special touch, so it might be worth considering. That said, despite all my comments, I’d definitely like to visit again. Thank you!

I chose this Hotel because I like the SOIL brand, and it was an even better stay than I expected! I really loved the exterior that blends into the scenery of the Nagato Yumoto area, and the interior design that seems to value natural colors. The staff kept a comfortable level of distance, and I also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The sauna on the top floor had just the right humidity, so it didn’t feel too intense even when staying in longer than usual despite the temperature. Relaxing while listening to higurashi cicadas may end up being this summer’s highlight!

I was happy to be able to choose matcha as the welcome drink. The sweets served were cute and nice. The whole Ryokan had a charming atmosphere and felt very pleasant. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. It would have been even better if the bath had been maintained a bit more.

The staff provided attentive service, and we had a very comfortable stay. The restaurant has semi-private seating, which allowed us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace without worrying about others. The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied. Our Room was in a separate annex, with privacy well maintained, so we could truly unwind. This is a wonderful Accommodation where we would love to stay again if we have the chance to visit Kurashiki.

We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary with crab, so we made a Reservation at the last minute. When we arrived, the proprietress welcomed us with a warm smile, and after check-in at the front desk, she kindly showed us to our Room. The building itself has a sense of history, and there are stairs and steps throughout, so it may be a bit challenging for guests with mobility issues. The Room isn’t large, but it was spotless, and thoughtful touches—like a heated carpet laid over the tatami—made it feel especially comfortable. After changing into yukata, we headed straight to the Onsen. We started with the large public bath only; even the baskets in the changing area were lovely and lifted our spirits. Once inside, we were impressed by the very high ceiling and stylish design—stained-glass doors and an elegant layout that created a wonderfully open atmosphere. Then came dinner—the highlight we’d been looking forward to. First was a refreshing sudachi aperitif that was delicious. The sashimi starter featured sweet shrimp that were wonderfully plump, and the firefly squid dressed with vinegared miso was surprisingly tender—the gentle flavor of the miso dressing was perfect. I’m not enough of a crab connoisseur to confidently tell all the differences (like tagged crab), but since it was a special occasion, we chose a Plan that included Taiza crab sashimi—and it had an incredible melt-in-your-mouth sweetness... We could enjoy it not only with crab vinegar but also with sudachi or salt—truly outstanding! That alone almost would have satisfied us—but this is where things really began: fragrant grilled crab; a rich yet clean-tasting Taiza crab miso soup; then crab hot pot followed by rice porridge; dessert of crab ice cream; and even chocolate mousse to celebrate our anniversary. It’s frustrating that all I can say is “delicious,” because everything really was. After dinner, we relaxed in the private bath we had reserved without worrying about anyone else around us, changed into pajamas (a very welcome touch!), and drifted off completely satisfied... The next morning we visited the bath with an open-air tub. This outdoor bath also had an ocean view and felt wonderful—we soaked slowly and enjoyed every moment. Breakfast was classic Japanese style—simple but delicious... It was my first time trying heshiko, and it was so good that I even used the discount voucher on our way out to buy some. They saw us off with warm smiles until the very end, making this an incredibly satisfying wedding anniversary trip. Thank you very much!

Both dinner and breakfast the next morning were very satisfying!! It was also amazing to be able to watch the limited-time 3D projection mapping right in front of the Hotel around 9:00 PM, just before closing. I felt it was a special privilege of staying inside Huis Ten Bosch, and it was very helpful that we could take the limousine bus from in front of the Hotel to Omura Airport when we left. Our child is three years old and was able to play hard until the end, then slept soundly on the limousine bus. We made wonderful memories. Thank you to all the staff!!

Due to a change of plans, I made a Reservation the day before. It was a rainy day and I arrived early, but I was able to choose a book from the many available and enjoy reading at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand. The spacious bath, especially the bubble bath, was very soothing. The meals were so plentiful that I couldn’t finish everything. The sunrise the next morning was beautiful. There were also goats and rabbits, and if it were closer, it’s a place where I’d love to bring my dog for a Multiple Night Stay.

It had been a long time since I last had the chance to visit Europe, but at Shima Mediterranean Village I was able to experience those nostalgic streetscapes again after so many years. Combined with the beautiful coastline of the Shima Peninsula, it made for a wonderfully relaxing stay, and I truly felt glad that we chose this Hotel. Meals were served buffet-style, and both breakfast and dinner were of a very high standard—I was extremely satisfied. I could also sense the passion and attention to detail of everyone involved in preparing the dishes, which left a strong impression. As we stayed with our pet dog, I had some concerns about our dog’s toilet needs and asked for advice. Thank you very much for your courteous support, including sending photos to help us. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude for your consideration regarding changing breakfast (especially the female staff member at reception). Thanks to your help, we were able to stay with peace of mind together with our dog and enjoy a wonderful time. If we have another opportunity, we would love to visit again.

At dinner, the proprietress came to speak with us, and when we mentioned our 30th wedding anniversary, she gave us a wonderful handwritten gift that truly moved us. We were so happy. We have it proudly displayed at home. The unexpected present became a very special memory.\nThe views from the Room and the dining area were exceptional as well.\nAt breakfast, we also had the chance to chat with a staff member from our hometown. We were touched by everyone’s kindness and thoughtfulness.\nIt was a truly wonderful Accommodation. Thank you very much. We hope to visit again someday.

The Onsen was excellent. The staff were very kind, and I had a comfortable stay. In the private bath, I couldn’t find the power outlet for the hair dryer, which was a bit disappointing. I will visit again. I’ve found a favorite Accommodation.

The Accommodation has a nostalgic, retro feel while still being very stylish and lovely. This time we stayed in the “Japanese Twin with Terrace” Room—tatami flooring, low beds, and a deck terrace. What impressed me most was how comfortable the bed was! I was told it’s a Nishikawa Muatsu mattress, and it truly felt amazing—I slept unbelievably well. The pillow was also excellent, and I completely fell in love with the bedding. I’d like to use the same one at home, so I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which type of Muatsu it is. The Onsen was wonderful as well. All three private baths had their own unique charm and were beautiful. The large public bath was also very relaxing—I ended up going in many times during our stay. As soon as you soak in the Onsen, your body warms up right away. The water feels soft, and your skin becomes moisturized and silky smooth. I also loved that bath towels were provided at the baths, so you can always use a clean one. Truly excellent therapeutic bathing. Unfortunately it rained this time—but because of that, we were able to take our time at the Accommodation, soak in the Onsen slowly, and enjoy doing nothing. We chose a Plan with 12:00 checkout, so we didn’t have to rush in the morning and could enjoy the Onsen until the very end. And then—the meals. Absolutely no complaints. Each dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It was a meal where you can truly enjoy every course for what it is. And something I’ll never forget: draft Yebisu beer! After it arrived, the foam gradually rose up into a rich head—it looked delicious even before tasting. And when I tried it… it really was incredible. I honestly thought there aren’t many places where draft beer tastes this good—it moved me. This “Joshu Beef & Gunma’s Blessings / Three Free Private Open-Air Baths / 12:00 Checkout / A Nostalgic Holiday” Plan was absolutely perfect for me. Shima Onsen in the rain is wonderful too. Soak in the Onsen, eat well, drink well—and sleep incredibly well. In this charming retro Accommodation, I had an amazing time that relaxed both my mind and body. All of the staff were pleasant as well, and the overall atmosphere throughout the Accommodation felt very comfortable. We felt great from start to finish during our stay. The Onsen, meals, bedding—and above all else—the warm hospitality from everyone on staff. Everything felt so comfortable that this is an Accommodation I definitely want to stay at again.

This is a wonderful Hotel where you can fully enjoy the great nature of Lake Akan. The woody interior seems to have been recently renovated and is very relaxing. There is complimentary coffee in the lobby, and luggage storage is done by choosing your own code and using a locker. We splurged on a nicer Room, and it had an outstanding view, plenty of space, and even a microwave. Breakfast was excellent—true to Hokkaido—with not only seafood but also delicious pizza and hamburgers, plus smoothies. We also heard we could use the baths at the main Tsuruga Group building, so we went. There is a shuttle bus, but it’s about a 7-minute walk along the lakeside as well. The baths at the main building were incredibly luxurious.

This was our first stay. The Room was very spacious, and the view was wonderful. Watching the sunrise and the changing colors of the sea was truly beautiful. As my husband and I both love good food, we were especially delighted that the meals were so delicious. Thank you very much.

The day before, our flight was canceled due to a typhoon and it seemed the island had been closed off, so we were worried about whether we could go the next day. However, we decided not to change the dates and went as planned. The weather turned sunny and we were truly happy to be able to make it. Many staff members warmly welcomed us on arrival. They also took photos for us at the entrance to the photo spot, and there were welcome drinks available at the entrance as well. After that, we rode in a cart and were escorted to our Room. The view was wonderful, the bath was spacious, and there were plenty of amenities—everything exceeded our expectations. At breakfast buffet, the whole-grapefruit fresh juice was especially unforgettable. Everything was perfect, and we had a dreamlike stay! Thank you so much!!!

All staff are kind and welcoming, and the “welcome home” atmosphere feels wonderfully comforting. Dinner and breakfast are both delicious. You can fully enjoy the luxury of having the view from the open-air bath in your Room all to yourself. I would love to visit again.

We stayed for three nights during the Obon holiday. This was our third year in a row, and each time we feel truly refreshed and enjoy an amazing vacation. Although the weather was poor after the typhoon, it miraculously cleared up from the second day, and we were somehow able to see the Perseid meteor shower as well. The staff were wonderful, and there was nothing that made us feel uncomfortable; our children had a great time too. The only disappointment was that the Diamond benefit of early check-in is no longer available. Since check-in tends to take a little time each visit, that may be the one area for improvement. Thank you again for everything this time as well.

Since my first stay around 2019, this has been my number one “Accommodation I want to return to.” Sometimes revisiting a wonderful Accommodation can be a little disappointing, but this time there was nothing like that at all—I was completely satisfied with every aspect of the stay once again. The Room had a natural interior with the warmth of wood and felt very comfortable, and the lobby was also a relaxing space surrounded by greenery. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like an escape from everyday life. Above all, the dining was outstanding. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the presentation and overall experience made it exciting—wondering what would come next was part of the fun. Even my partner, who doesn’t often say “delicious,” was genuinely impressed by the meat dish. Along with the meat’s natural sweetness and rich flavor, the pairing with the sauce was excellent—we were still talking on our way home about how truly delicious it was. It didn’t just meet expectations; it reminded me all over again how special this Accommodation is. We would love to visit again.

I stayed here two years ago and it was amazing. This time, even though it was raining due to back-to-back typhoons, it didn’t matter at all—our stay was wonderful again. I heard the interior was fully renovated about a year and a half ago, and the Room has been updated with a modern feel. It’s stairs up to around the 5th floor, but each step is low, so getting around isn’t difficult. Our two dogs get excited the moment they arrive when they like an Accommodation, and they were thrilled this time as well. They even used the provided toilet just like at home. Since they’re timid, we didn’t use the dog run. I tried three Onsen baths, and all of them were perfect—the temperature was just right. The food is simply outstanding. The sashimi is expertly prepared, and there’s more than enough overall—I couldn’t finish everything. I especially love how Shiki no Kura serves abalone, and it was truly delicious again this time. Even compared with top Hotels and Ryokan across The whole country, this place ranks among the best. Breakfast was also excellent: a selection of side dishes that anyone would enjoy paired with rice cooked in a clay pot. The staff’s guidance and conversation were great, as were their thoughtful touches in the Room. After breakfast I took a nap and checked out at 11:00—honestly, I relaxed even more than my dogs did. The building itself does feel old in places; when I wiped the floor it came up dirty. But everywhere has something these days due to staffing shortages, so it didn’t bother me. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that prices fluctuate quite a bit during Kawazu cherry blossom season and other peak times. If it were always reasonably priced, I’d make this my regular go-to (laugh). I will definitely be back again.

From the warm welcome by the staff to their guidance at mealtimes, everyone was very kind. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious—we were completely satisfied. Also, the Onsen water in our Room was wonderfully soft and felt great for the body, so we ended up soaking many times. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

I had a comfortable stay from check-in to check-out. The Room (single room) was clean. I was also able to relax in the shared cafe area. Everyone working at the Hotel was kind and courteous, so I felt at ease throughout my stay. On my way out, I met one of the housekeeping staff members, who saw me off with a smile—another happy memory added. I would be glad to stay again in the future.
