This was my second stay. I was drawn to the charming sukiya-style building. It is a single-story Accommodation with high ceilings and a spacious feel. The main room has large openings, and I was able to relax peacefully while watching the trains and the distant scenery. It had been a while since my last stay, but it was carefully maintained and just as spotless as before. Thanks to the owner’s thoughtful hospitality, I had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast made with locally sourced ingredients was delicious. My son was thrilled to have an insect-catching experience like a night safari. I would love to stay again.

I stayed here after the Expo. Although it is a traditional Japanese house, the renovation was excellent, and all electrical appliances were new and user-friendly. Coffee, tea, black tea, soda, alcohol, and water were provided. The bathroom was spacious and renovated as well; soaking in it relieved my fatigue. Although it was mentioned that pajamas were not provided, they were available. Despite how challenging cleaning must be for such a place, it was impeccably clean. Thank you for answering my questions so kindly. It is also close to Koreatown. I would love to stay here again!

Our family of four stayed for one night. This time it was just a one-night stay, but we thought a Multiple Night Stay would be great for enjoying sightseeing. There is also an Onsen Facility fairly nearby, so it’s convenient if you’re coming by car. This is an Accommodation we were glad we chose.

The atmosphere and decor of the building were excellent! Although it is a bit away from the city center, it is in a quiet location and very comfortable to stay.

We stayed as a group of five friends. The location and rooms were excellent. It was great to be able to walk to Kiyomizu Temple in about 10 minutes early in the morning, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful visit before it got crowded. The Japanese-style living room provided a relaxing space, perfect for resting after a long day. We would definitely love to stay here again!

It was my first time staying at a private lodging, and the serene Japanese-style space combined with modern amenities made it very comfortable. The underfloor heating in both the living room and dressing area was a nice touch, making me want to visit again during winter. One downside was that when I called the day before, the phone response felt unprofessional. Since older guests may also use this Facility, I think this aspect could be improved. Given that it is a luxurious Facility, such details are likely expected as well.

This is a wonderful Accommodation and ideal for adults. Many Facilities have been upgraded since last year, making it an even more favorite place to stay, except that some doors fit less well than before. The owner’s personality is also excellent.

I felt it was a waste of time to be on my phone, so I left it in the car and spent my stay unplugged. A truly luxurious time. While out for a walk, local residents greeted me, and in the morning I exchanged greetings with our neighbor. It felt like the simple everyday moments that have become less common were still naturally here. With all five senses awakened, I found the most luxurious time here. Although there were few chances to meet the staff in person, I could feel their kind thoughtfulness throughout. Thank you very much.

Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. After receiving a brief explanation, the hotel staff left, allowing us to enjoy a completely private space for a luxurious experience. This time, we did not hire a private chef but brought our own wine and food for dinner. Every item and piece of furniture is carefully selected, creating an atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time to a historical drama. You can rent out this incredibly luxurious space exclusively. The bedroom is also meticulously designed, and from the second-floor bedroom, you can wake up to an amazing view of Lake Kawaguchi right in front of you—a perfect location. For Onsen lovers, you can use the Onsen at the nearby Ashiwada Hotel. While I didn’t use it myself, my companion did and said both the indoor bath and open-air bath were fantastic. As for drawbacks, there are no izakayas or shops nearby where you can casually walk out to dine or shop. Renting out this secluded traditional house for multiple nights would make for an exceptionally luxurious trip (this time we stayed one night but would love to stay longer next time when we have more time). Since it’s still newly opened, prices are quite affordable now; however, I predict they will gradually increase over time (it feels too cheap at the moment). We stayed as four adults this time and everyone was extremely satisfied—we’ve already decided to visit again in September! Unfortunately, due to bad weather this trip, we couldn’t try kayaking; next time we hope to challenge ourselves with early morning kayaking while enjoying views of Mount Fuji reflected on the water!

I chose this accommodation in Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture, a heavy snowfall area, because I wanted to experience a snow-covered location. The renovated traditional house had an interior full of charm. I fully enjoyed using the irori (sunken hearth) and wood stove. When I wanted to lay out the futon at night but couldn't find it, I contacted the staff and they promptly came to assist me. For dinner, we brought our own ingredients and made hot pot dishes. The kitchen was spacious with all necessary cooking utensils and seasonings available, making my wife and daughter happily cook together. Breakfast was a delightful New Year's meal with rich flavors that left an impression. Although the accommodation does not have its own onsen, there are nearby onsen facilities available for use without inconvenience. The building itself is impressive—a renovated traditional house combined with modern Japanese furniture—allowing us to stay comfortably even during this cold snowy season. I look forward to visiting their sister accommodations in the future as well.

Feel the closeness of nature and listen carefully: the rustling sound of bamboo leaves swaying in the wind, the chirping of insects and birds, and the moon floating in the vast sky. It was a time when my heart resonated quietly, deeply healing my soul. The open-air bath had water at just the right temperature, while the indoor bath was enveloped in a soothing aroma of cypress. The large sauna and cypress cold bath were also relaxing, and stepping out onto the terrace revealed an extraordinary view reminiscent of Bali or an overseas resort. This liberating accommodation where you can walk around freely feels truly unique. In the spacious living room, we enjoyed conversations at the counter, while in the large bath I shared luxurious moments talking with my daughter. Convenient for sightseeing as well—morning walks through silver grass fields, cycling visits to Hakone Shrine and Kuzuryu Shrine. We rode on Motomiya Ropeway, had a Japanese lunch at Yamano Hotel after checkout, followed by a leisurely time at a café. We fully enjoyed our trip to Hakone to its fullest extent. The accommodation was impeccably clean everywhere we went, making it comfortable throughout our stay. It’s an unforgettable experience that made us say “perfect” countless times from our hearts. We would love to visit again!

I came to Unnan City on a solo trip planning to stay in a “separate traditional house,” but I was amazed when I arrived. In reality, it’s an exceptionally refined architectural masterpiece—an architect’s residence beautifully renovated. From the way the space is framed to the textures of the pillars and ceiling, every angle is full of character. Exploring the great outdoors was wonderful, but enjoying the luxury of doing nothing in this spacious setting was just as unforgettable. With a kitchen and washing machine, you can stay as if you live here—highly recommended for a Multiple Night Stay (there may be discounts for longer stays). A truly special Accommodation that will elevate your trip to Unnan City.

A renovated traditional Japanese house Accommodation located at the top of a mountain road. The old beams and fittings have been preserved or beautifully repurposed, so it doesn’t feel outdated at all. Since the owner built it personally, there are a few small details that may feel slightly unfinished, but the space is very comfortable, with thoughtful touches in the furniture and decor throughout. I asked to change the schedule at short notice, and they kindly accommodated my request, which I truly appreciated. For the barbecue, they also showed us—together with our child—how to prepare the firewood and charcoal, which made our child very happy. It became a wonderful summer memory for us.

Although we arrived late, we had informed them in advance, and they kindly accepted our Reservation. Also, for a whole-house rental Accommodation, it was rare to have breakfast included: the rice cooker was set so the rice would be ready at 6:00 a.m., and miso soup was prepared in a thermos in the refrigerator so it could be enjoyed after warming—an excellent Japanese breakfast. The Facility’s interior was stylish and reflected the owner’s great sense of design, making our stay very comfortable. Since we were traveling with children, we did not use the kura bed and instead laid futons in the same Room; however, it would have been even better if the futon set were a bit softer. The location is also great—just a short walk away on a quiet side street off the main road of the Bikan Historical Quarter—so you can relax peacefully at night. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kurashiki.

The Wi‑Fi connection was unreliable, and it would have been nice to have laundry facilities. The Room was spacious and we were satisfied, and both the bathroom and toilet were clean. Our 3-year-old grandchild seemed happy running around inside the Room.

A quiet accommodation in Higashiyoshino Village. The very spacious Japanese garden is well-maintained. You can only hear the sound of cicadas. The accommodation is a historic building with a grand structure. Facilities such as water systems have been renovated for a comfortable stay. For dinner, we enjoyed shabu-shabu made with branded pork, which was tender and delicious without any scum forming. The private hinoki cypress bath allowed us to relax at our own pace.
