Very affordable.

This was my fifth stay in Sakihana Onsen, but my first time staying at this Accommodation. The bath was small, but since it was a weekday and not crowded, it was more than sufficient. Everything was well cleaned and the service was excellent—worlds apart from the Accommodation I visited last month. The meals were also delicious. It was a shame that bathing hours were limited to 11:00 p.m., and only from 7:00 a.m. in the morning.

After turning off the Koya Ryujin Skyline, you’ll need to drive several kilometers along a narrow, winding road with continuous curves. As is often the case in Nara Prefecture, there are some sections that are too narrow for two cars to pass. The river running beside the Hotel is very clear, and on a cloudless night you can likely enjoy a starry sky. The Onsen water analysis sheet stated it is a simple sulfur spring with pH 10.4, but I didn’t notice much of a sulfur smell. There are only two indoor baths at different temperatures, and there is no open-air bath. For dinner we ordered the local Kashiki hot pot course, and the duck, wild boar, and pheasant were all richly flavored and truly delicious. I especially liked the pheasant for its satisfying texture. After finishing the hot pot, we ended with rice porridge; the broth was so good that I ate too much. The Hotel itself is an older building, but it’s a good Hotel with sufficiently spacious Rooms and enjoyable meals.

I stayed for one night as a solo guest. This Accommodation offers an Onsen-focused experience, with a spacious Room featuring a free-flowing Onsen bath, plus access to the Onsen at the nearby roadside station. Breakfast is served buffet-style and includes local dishes such as noppe-jiru. It’s popular and Reservations may be hard to secure, but I’d love to stay again.

We chose this Hotel to participate in the dolphin program at Motobu Genki Village. There were plenty of events for children, and our grandchild enjoyed them too. All the staff were friendly and welcoming with warm smiles. Every meal was delicious, and the Room was spacious with an ocean view—the Flipper Room was especially wonderful. Next time, we’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay.

We were completely satisfied overall! The staff kindly checked in to make sure our dog was comfortable, which we really appreciated. The Room was spotless and very clean. The amenities provided were stylish as well. Everything for the light BBQ and the paella ingredients was fresh, delicious, and we were very happy with it. We brought our own alcoholic drinks. Making hot sandwiches in the morning was a great experience too, since there’s an easy-to-follow instruction sheet. It was hot during the day, but at night the temperature became comfortable, and we could relax with our dog in a hammock. The ger tent we stayed in was a little farther away, so we weren’t bothered by other families’ dogs. The only downside is that there are some spots where the internet connection is weak, but it’s actually nice for unplugging and chilling away from everyday life. We’d definitely recommend this place to friends who have dogs.

As always, we truly appreciated your support, such as providing a bath chair for my elderly mother and assisting with the checkout time. This time, we changed to a Room type with a balcony for the first time in a while at Prince, and my mother was very satisfied—the Room was clean and spacious. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for our family trip at the end of summer vacation. It was a special Room—the only one of its kind in the Hotel. It had the space of two Rooms plus a living area, and an exceptionally large bathroom—about the size of another Room—with a spacious bathtub where you can fully stretch out, as well as a separate shower room. The bubble-bath function had been removed, but features such as the marble flooring gave it a very luxurious feel. There were also private stairs, a ramp, and an exclusive corridor leading to this special Room, with outstanding attention to privacy. From the Room, we enjoyed breathtaking views over all of Lake Megami and the surrounding mountains. There were three large TVs, which delighted our children, and we could use the air conditioning as well, so we stayed comfortable throughout our visit. The public bath included an open-air bath and even two saunas, and the lockers were clean. From the open-air bath we could look out over Lake Megami and the mountains while relaxing in the Onsen. We enjoyed cooling off in the cold bath, watching clouds drift by, and taking our time to fully appreciate Tateshina Onsen. As it was peak season, both dinner and breakfast were buffet only; while there weren’t many items overall, each dish was truly delicious. The coffee did not seem to be freshly drip-brewed from a machine like those found at some buffets, so having a coffee machine would be nice. Next time we are very much looking forward to trying kaiseki cuisine at the basement-level restaurant as well. As an IKYU.com Diamond member benefit I requested late check-out; unfortunately it wasn’t possible due to peak season demand. Still, this is such a wonderful Hotel that we wanted to stay even longer—the Room was beautiful, spacious, and impressive in every way. Thank you also for the Diamond member gifts (a bottle of wine and souvenirs from Nagano). Since in Parking Lot No. 1 the wheelchair-priority space is shared with EV charging spaces, I think it would be better to separate them so that enough spaces can be secured to meet nighttime EV charging demand while keeping accessible parking available at all times. We arrived at 11:00 and completed check-in procedures first; the front desk staff were excellent. We requested early check-in but it wasn’t possible due to peak season; however when keys became available before 3:00 p.m., they were handed out in order of completion of procedures—so arriving early was worthwhile for us after all. We will be staying in this same Room again in the future as well; thank you in advance from our whole family for your continued hospitality. Thank you very much to all staff members.”

I had stayed here with a friend before and remembered it fondly, so this time I stayed with my husband. When making the Reservation, I requested a specific Room type, and they accommodated my request exactly, which helped us create wonderful memories. Even my husband, who doesn’t like vegetables, loved the restaurant where the vegetables are truly delicious. I was genuinely impressed by how good they were. The key to the private bath was broken, but they promptly switched us to another bath. It’s a favorite Hotel with excellent value for money, and we definitely want to stay again.

All the staff were kind and pleasant. The bath limited day-use visitors, so I could relax and enjoy it. Every meal was delicious and seasoned just the way I like. The robatayaki was perfect with drinks. The made-to-order salt-grilled ayu was outstanding, and I’m glad I ordered it. However, I was disappointed that the delicious apple juice they used to have at breakfast was no longer available. I would like to stay again in a different season.

We stayed in the Special Room Wakutake. There were four of us: my 4-year-old son, my parents, and me. The Room isn’t new, but it’s spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious as well—satisfying in both quality and quantity. The special kids’ menu was also well prepared. There are several types of baths, which was great, and our child never got bored.

The view of Sakurajima floating on Kinko Bay right in front is absolutely stunning, and the Room was clean and very comfortable.

We stayed for one night to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. All the staff were always smiling, and their service was polite and attentive, so we had a very comfortable and enjoyable time. Upon arrival, we were shown to a private room next to the lobby, where we enjoyed some tea and sweets while choosing yukata. The lobby also had books and a souvenir shop. On the rooftop terrace there was a footbath, and we could truly relax while looking out over Lake Ashi and the surrounding mountains. We didn’t use them this time, but there was also a table tennis room (paid) and a kids’ room. The view from the open-air bath in our Room was amazing—I ended up soaking three times: on the first evening, at night, and again after breakfast on day two (haha). It seems they can also adjust the set temperature of the open-air bath upon request. In addition to the shower next to the open-air bath, there was also an indoor bathroom in the Room. I was happy that the hair dryer in the Room was ReFa. We had both dinner and breakfast during our stay. Both meals were served in the same private room we were shown to upon arrival. Dinner started at 18:00, and breakfast could be chosen between 8:30 or 9:00—great for someone like me who isn’t good at waking up early. Dinner included dishes such as salt-crusted grilled spiny lobster as well as lava-stone grilling of Kanagawa beef and Ashigara beef, which made it really fun. Both dinner and breakfast were truly excellent, and my girlfriend was very satisfied. The large public bath wasn’t very big, but it wasn’t crowded at all—we were able to bathe almost privately most of the time. The water was milky/opaque (nigoriyu), and my skin felt pleasantly soft afterward. I’ve been to Hakone several times, but it’s rare to find an Accommodation this good. We would definitely love to stay again. Thank you very much!

We planned a last-minute trip as a couple, and never expected to find such a wonderful Accommodation available during the Obon holidays at such an affordable price. Dinner was impressive, featuring dishes that brought out the natural flavors of the ingredients, served on Hagi-yaki–style ceramic tableware. The buffet breakfast was also full of delicious options. While the annex is not very large, it felt newly finished and was comfortable. Above all, the location alone—an expansive view of the majestic Sea of Japan right below the window—seems worth tens of thousands of yen. The staff were warm and welcoming as well, making it an unforgettable stay.

The meals, the Room’s open-air bath, and the service were all excellent. We were able to fully enjoy a special getaway and relax at our own pace. We would love to visit again!

We stay here every year, and the food is simply delicious. If you stay for two nights, the dinner buffet menu changes slightly. It’s fun to see that something from yesterday is gone, or that something new has been added. It’s also convenient that Suganodai Bus Center, Komagane Farms, and “Boke” apple pie are all within walking distance.

I stayed one night on 8/23 with breakfast included. The men’s bath has a spacious indoor bath, and the open-air bath is designed to feel very open, with the outside scenery visible up close. The sulfur scent enhances the Onsen atmosphere, and it’s such pleasant water that you’ll want to soak again and again. At around 1,500 m elevation, it stays very cool in summer and is comfortable to spend time here. I’d like to visit again in a different season. It seems that Shogi title matches have been held here many times as well, so Shogi fans might enjoy that too.

The foreign staff were very attentive and provided wonderful hospitality. The meals were also delicious. The only disappointment was the bath. The water itself may be good, but it is so small that it feels fine for two people, but you hesitate when three want to use it. Since Hakone is an Onsen area, I would have liked a bath that could accommodate at least four or five people.

From check-in until our car left the Ryokan, the staff naturally came outside to welcome and see us off. I think there are very few Ryokan or Hotels that do this. The preparation of the futon bedding and in-Room dining was pleasant, and it made for a wonderful stay. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were very satisfying. If I had one request, I would be happy if there were a bit more local vegetables—especially for guests in their 50s like us. This may be a matter of preference, but I felt the miso soup would have been even better if it were served a little hotter. Similarly, I would have preferred the water in the large public bath to be slightly hotter. What impressed me most was how thoroughly everything was cleaned. Even at expensive Hotels or Ryokan, you often notice dust in hidden areas or peeling wallpaper and small flaws here and there, but everything visible was very clean. Precisely because it isn’t brand-new, it felt especially comfortable. It was my first stay here, but I feel like I got great value. My only concern is that many of the staff seemed to be around my age or a bit older, so I hope this Ryokan will continue for many years and be passed on to the next generation so guests can keep enjoying it. Since it was a weekday, I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. I wished there was a large public bath. The family bath required a Reservation, so I couldn't use it this time. Next time, I plan to make a Reservation. Both the dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious. The nighttime illumination was also beautiful.
