They were very kind and helpful. I’ll definitely stay here again the next time I visit Tokyo.

Both dinner and breakfast included warm dishes, and everything was very delicious. The portions were generous. We could use the bath as a private reservation, which made us feel at ease. The Room was clean and comfortable with no issues. There are no amenities provided, so bringing your own towels, bath towels, and toothbrush is essential. I would like to stay again.

On May 17, I stayed at the culinary Ryokan Ueto. That day, I was lucky enough to have the place entirely to myself, and I’m truly grateful. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the proprietress and immediately felt it was a calm, lovely place. Unlike a Hotel, there is no elevator, so I carried my luggage up to my Room on the third floor. It’s a small but comfortable Room. The bath was also private—having the entire Ryokan reserved felt incredibly lucky. The water is on the hot side, but it was very relaxing, and then came dinner. Dinner was a full-course tofu meal. Dish after dish arrived; everything was delicious, and I ended up eating too much until I was completely full. (There is more than enough food to finish.) A peaceful day passed, and after enjoying breakfast, I found this Ryokan wonderfully homey. It was an overnight stay filled with thoughtful hospitality that I deeply appreciated. The place was very spacious, and the kids could relax and play freely. It’s an older house, but it was thoroughly cleaned—everything was spotless, comfortable, and pleasant. The amenities were well stocked, and I was surprised they even had phone chargers. There were lots of board games, which the kids absolutely loved. Because it’s a large house, it felt chilly in the mornings and evenings, but a fan heater was provided so we had no trouble. The kitchen had everything from cooking utensils to tableware, and we could use the drum-style washing machine as much as we wanted (detergent provided). It was an Accommodation with truly thoughtful touches throughout. We’d love to stay again.

I chose it because it was close to the destination. From the lobby to the Room, it was neat and tidy without any extra items, which was nice. The bath was spacious and nice. I don't think the morning bread was handmade by a bakery(?), but there were croissants, pancakes, salad, and soup, which were quite filling. If I have the chance, I would like to stay here again next time.

It feels a bit old, but that’s part of the charm. The Onsen was amazing! I could drink as much beer as I wanted, enjoy plenty of snacks, and relax in a calm atmosphere. It truly felt like we were visiting right in the middle of nature, which was fantastic. This time we planned a 6-day trip, and I’m glad we started on day one at this Accommodation!!

I stayed for one night to see the moss phlox. The front desk staff were very courteous. When I asked for directions, they explained everything while looking at a map. Room wear is available near the front desk, and guests can choose what they need. What made me happiest was the food—I didn’t expect to enjoy such delicious meals. This is a Hotel I’d love to visit again.

My husband and I stayed here in July. The meals were truly delicious, and the Onsen was wonderful. On the way home we even said, “It was so good we wish they ran a restaurant,” and it became an unforgettable taste for us. The living room had a warm, nostalgic atmosphere—like the shop where Kiki’s mother works in *Kiki’s Delivery Service*. The owners were lovely people, and Mugi-chan was incredibly soothing as well. They also kindly provided Shuttle Service early in the morning, which helped us a lot. Thanks to that, although rockfall on 7/1 meant we had to start from the Daisekkei bus stop, we were able to safely hike Mt. Norikura up to Tatamidaira and Maodake, and fully take in the spectacular scenery unique to this season. Thank you so much for your heartfelt hospitality. We would love to visit again.

A quiet, relaxing Accommodation. The bath feels wonderful and leaves your skin silky smooth. The hot water is excellent. My knee pain eased. I felt refreshed, like my body became lighter. I want to visit again!

After 20 years, the bath was still great, and although meals were previously served in the Room, the food was excellent. The staff were all very pleasant. The garden remains as beautiful as it was 20 years ago. While I like the nostalgic feel of the building, a bit more renovation might be better.

It was very close to the entrance of Akame 48 Waterfalls, making it extremely convenient for walking and exploring. The building is old, but the furniture and interior are refined and do not feel rustic. The food was also delicious. We went by car, and there is a steep slope in front of the Accommodation, so it’s best to drive carefully there. Some parts of the road on the way are narrow, but they are well maintained, so as long as you watch out for oncoming cars, there should be no problem.

Although it was my first stay, everything exceeded my expectations. The service was kind and made me feel comfortable. I visit the Tateshina area every year for an event, so this is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again.

Thank you very much for your kindness. The road to the Accommodation was narrow and a bit scary, but otherwise we were completely satisfied. The bath was excellent.

We stayed here during summer vacation with three generations of our family. They arranged our Rooms next to each other and emailed us the meal times in advance, so we felt at ease even before our stay. When we arrived, the staff were very courteous. The view from the window was amazing!!! I thought the meal might be too much, but it was delicious and we enjoyed everything all the way to dessert. The pineapple pudding dessert was especially tasty. When we told them we were going to Inuyama Castle the next day, they printed a map of the area for us and also helped set up table tennis—thank you so much. The Facility is a little old, but our satisfaction more than made up for it!! We would definitely like to stay again.

A year after falling ill, I was finally feeling well again and truly enjoyed the soft-shelled turtle dishes. I did wish the portions were a bit larger, but considering the price, it felt reasonable. Overall, I was satisfied.

The bath was absolutely amazing. The meals were hearty, and the Room was spacious and relaxing. When we mentioned that we came to see the ancient lotus seeds, they kindly picked one for us. Our journey continues as we admire the lotus seed.

No Meals Included, but we provide two pastries, yogurt, soup, and a variety of beverages. While it is a comfortable accommodation, it may feel expensive and spacious if you are only staying to sleep. The bath uses a circulation system rather than free-flowing water. It seems the price increased after I made my reservation. Unfortunately, there is no Japanese tea available or its flavor is lacking.

This was my third stay, and it was just as amazing as ever! In a wonderful space, we could truly enjoy delicious food, and the hospitality was outstanding—an Accommodation that makes you want to come back every year. In fact, we really do visit every year. Haha. We’re already looking forward to next year! Thank you very much.

The expansive grounds are lush with greenery and feature scattered traditional detached buildings, exuding the charm of a mountain retreat. Surrounded by garden stones, plants, and tea flowers, the landscaping is meticulously maintained. The historic buildings showcase aged materials and fittings that reflect their history and character but are kept impeccably clean. Each unit has been updated with a spacious unit bath equipped with a washing area and modern toilet facilities for convenient use at any time. One of the detached buildings houses large communal baths for men and women, each featuring rectangular stone bathtubs that can accommodate several people along with two washing areas. Large glass windows open fully to reveal views of the bright forest outside. While not an onsen, it offers an atmosphere reminiscent of one. The accommodation is conveniently located near Magome and Tsumago, attracting many international guests seeking its unique ambiance. Meals are served in private dining rooms within separate annexes where guests can enjoy dishes at tables with chairs. The cuisine features innovative rural delicacies inspired by tea kaiseki style, showcasing creativity and meticulous preparation in every dish. Pure rice sake available in the room's refrigerator pairs perfectly with these meals. Nights here are quiet, offering warmth despite being housed in old Japanese-style architecture known for its gaps between structures. The hospitality provided by the staff adds to this warm experience as well.
