This was my fourth stay. It’s a wonderful Hotel with great value: an Onsen public bath, unlimited welcome drinks in the lounge until night, and above all, an excellent breakfast. I did notice the limited amenities, but given the outstanding cost performance, it may be unavoidable as a cost-saving measure. However, I would like to see improvement regarding the drinking water in the public bath being unavailable (it may have just been out of order that day). I usually choose a Plan with dinner and breakfast, and for the selectable dinner I ate at “Toyotsune,” but since their station-front branch across from the Hotel is currently closed, this time I chose breakfast only. The breakfast features Oita specialties such as freshly fried tempura from a live kitchen and “Ryukyu,” and you can also make a luxurious TKG using the branded egg “Ran-O.” Even the miso soup included Kurome seaweed from Oita, with a rich dashi flavor. It’s such an impressive spread that I look forward to it every time. The Room was also clean and comfortable with a smart TV. Thank you again for this stay.

We stayed here for a family trip combined with our annual visit to the graves in Niigata. The building is old, and there was an unpleasant smell outside the room, possibly due to an out-of-service restroom nearby. However, the room was clean, and the Onsen was very relaxing. The Hotel staff were very kind, and we would like to stay here again on our next visit.

I enjoyed soaking in Zao Onsen’s strongly acidic, milky-white water with a distinct sulfur scent—this is what an Onsen should be like. Since it’s an old building, there are countless flaws if you start pointing them out, so I stayed while telling myself that’s just how it is. The staff work hard, but not at a level that truly impresses. The meals featured many local specialties and were good, but the rice—the most important part—was too firm at dinner and far too soft at breakfast. This Accommodation is recommended for those who love Onsen.

You can really feel the dignity of a long-established Ryokan. It had the distinguished atmosphere of an Accommodation that hosts the Kisei title match. After arrival, my companion was delighted with the welcome beer (or soft drink). We used the complimentary beer voucher during our stay after bathing and enjoyed a delicious post-bath beer. Dinner was served in our Room, so we could relax and take our time. I had breakfast in the dining area, though it seems in-room breakfast is also available. I say that because a staff member mistakenly came to deliver breakfast to our Room (an error). Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable, making great use of local ingredients. Breakfast in particular was simple but delicious. At checkout, the staff apologized for the breakfast mix-up, and the proprietress also offered her apologies. That kind of thoughtfulness felt like true Japanese Ryokan hospitality.

Now that our family schedules finally lined up, we stayed at Yunishikawa Honkan again. The open-air bath is the perfect temperature for us, and this wonderful natural hot spring keeps our bodies warm until the next morning when we soak slowly and relax. We also always look forward to the Japanese meals, which are consistently delicious. The many dishes and the local sake tasting are excellent as well. The Onsen egg served with breakfast is outstanding, and this time too we ordered two packs to take home as a souvenir. For us as a parent and child who enjoy mountain stream fishing, this Accommodation is an important place to unwind, so even when it’s not for fishing we’d like to make time to visit again and enjoy the wonderful Onsen. This time we stayed in the Room at the very end of the 5th floor, and it was very comfortable with a toilet and air conditioning. We also enjoy hearing the owner’s stories every time—about hunting bears long ago, catching giant char, and gathering large maitake mushrooms. We are truly grateful to the proprietress emeritus, the proprietress, and all staff for their hospitality. We hope to visit again soon. Thank you in advance when we do.

I stayed at Hotel Okada for the first time, which I had been interested in for a while. The view from the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and unwind in the private open-air bath. I was also happy that I could freely enjoy the drinks in the Room’s refrigerator. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed for one night starting on 7/29! It was just my son and me, and right after we arrived there were kid-friendly activities prepared—shaved ice and stencil-cutting—so we really enjoyed them together. After that we moved to our Room, and both of us were impressed by how spacious and clean it was. We didn’t use the Onsen in the Room, but the semi-private open-air bath felt almost like having it to ourselves, so I ended up going in three times during our stay (lol). After arriving, we took our time relaxing while visiting the different lounges. Dinner had slightly different menus for adults and children, but they were mostly the same, which made my son very happy. All drinks in the Room were included in the price as well, so we enjoyed a relaxed evening drink together with the provided beer and juice. Breakfast had an amazing variety of sides to go with rice—I could have eaten endless bowls. It was also great that refills of miso soup were available. Since it’s located up in the mountains, the view is incredible. This was our last day after traveling around various Hotels, and we had such a wonderful time that I genuinely felt sad to leave. The staff were also exceptionally polite and attentive—truly excellent service. Next time I’d like to come back with my wife.

• Guest Rooms The Room wasn’t new, but it was very clean and comfortable. • Service The staff who assisted us during meals were pleasant—polished yet friendly. • Onsen The open-air bath with a view of Mt. Fuji was amazing! The in-room bath was also very comfortable. • Facility The relaxation room on the first floor was dark and a bit scary. Otherwise, no issues. • Meals Truly delicious. Even my partner, who is picky about food, was very satisfied. The portions were just right. I’d happily return just for the meals.

This was our second stay, the first in two years. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, including local specialties unique to the area. Both the buffet staff and the front desk staff were very kind and attentive, which made our stay truly comfortable. In particular, the buffet staff explained things in a way that was easy for our child to understand and spoke to us in a friendly manner, which we really appreciated. When we stay in Kusatsu again, we would love to choose this Accommodation. Thank you very much.

The ocean view from the Room is wonderful, as are the views of Atami and the sea from the restaurant. The guest Room is spacious and airy, and the Onsen bath is large enough to stretch out in. Dinner was especially delicious, particularly the stone-grilled beef tenderloin steak. It was a very satisfying stay.

I stayed here to visit Akiyoshido Cave and the Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau. It was a very fine Hotel, the Room was spacious, and the bedding was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. Yuda Onsen has an abundant supply of hot water, and the baths were excellent. A staff member near the front desk told me about highlights around Yuda Onsen, so I visited the Nakahara Chuya Memorial Museum, Rurikoji Temple, and Yamaguchi Xavier Memorial Church. Since it was Sunday, hymns could be heard and it felt very solemn; the temple also had an impressive five-story pagoda. It’s a compact town, but it was interesting and perfect for half a day of sightseeing. As for the Accommodation itself, it did feel slightly aged in places, but the meals were luxurious and the fugu sashimi was delicious. There may have been a few too many dishes overall—I was already quite full by the time I got to items like fried ayu. Personally, I felt ayu wasn’t really necessary. Also, I would have appreciated complimentary mineral water as an amenity; most Accommodations offer it these days, so I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t any. The footbath next to the Accommodation had also dried up—whether due to water shortages or energy saving measures, it felt a little sad. In any case, thank you very much for your hospitality. Overall I had a very positive impression, though personally I would have preferred slightly lighter meals. The Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau offers truly one-of-a-kind panoramic views that I’d love to see again, so I may return in the future—thank you in advance when that time comes.

All the staff I interacted with (front desk, restaurant, and gift shop) had a great atmosphere—and their service was excellent as well. The food was delicious, and the all-you-can-drink plan included Sapporo beer. The Onsen was a comfortable size, and thanks to renovations a few years ago, the Room didn’t feel outdated at all. If I have the chance, I’d love to come again and stay here again.

I love Niigata in midwinter, but I also really enjoy Niigata in the season of wild mountain vegetables after the snow melts. In terms of Onsen Ryokan within the prefecture, I have previously stayed at Satoyama Jujo, HATAGO Issen, ryugon, Hinano Yado Chitose, and Rankei-so. Each Accommodation was unique and charming, and this time I was finally able to visit Shiki Yuzawa QUATTRO, which I had been curious about for a while. As you can probably tell from the above, we travel around various Accommodations because we like places with great food. From that perspective—this is how my spouse and I both felt—the breakfast side dishes were good, but not “exceptionally delicious.” As for the seaweed (“nori”), it had a color and taste we had never seen before, which made us wonder: had this processed product changed over time? Or is this its intended final form in terms of appearance and seasoning? It left us feeling a bit uneasy. Perhaps for guests who usually select ingredients carefully and cook at home on a regular basis, it may not be especially impressive. That said, we truly appreciate that they prepared such a large number of dishes at the in-room chair-and-table seating area and offered their very best hospitality. We felt they were doing everything they could to provide a comfortable stay despite limited staff and time. We would recommend it more to guests with a hearty appetite who have no concerns about their legs or knees. This is because getting into a bathtub without handrails can become difficult as you get older. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath in the room continuously supplied Onsen water, so we could soak at a comfortable temperature again the next morning. We also enjoyed relaxing on the second-floor terrace. Since this season is neither too hot nor too cold—and there are no bugs—why not plan a trip now? The room seemed renovated and was very clean, and there was also a hair straightener in addition to the hair dryer. We were satisfied with the amenities! Thank you to everyone for your kind assistance throughout our stay. The large public bath at Sakura-tei was also nearby, so getting there was easy.

I visited with a friend who loves traveling. This was my third stay, and as always, the food was excellent, and the Onsen was amazing. My friend, visiting for the first time, also enjoyed it and went to the bath twice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This was my second stay since 2018. As always, every dish at dinner was delicious, and I was very satisfied. The hospitality was also wonderful, and I truly appreciated the advice for visiting Matsumoto Castle the next day. Thanks to your guidance, we were able to sightsee smoothly without feeling the heat too much. If I have the opportunity again, I would love to stay with you in a different season. The hot spring water is simply wonderful. I soaked in the Onsen at night and again in the morning, and was amazed at how smooth my skin felt. The Accommodation staff were kind and supportive, offering helpful advice and speaking gently to our children, which made us feel truly welcomed. Dinner hot pot came with more meat than we could finish. The menu featured many local specialties, which adults enjoyed, though some dishes seemed a bit challenging for children. The Facility has a sense of history, but it is fully air-conditioned, so we stayed comfortably cool.

This was my second stay this year, and I visited with my mother. My mother is nearing her 88th birthday, but she still has a great appetite and finished everything, even having seconds from the rice tub. I visited long ago with my mother and grandmother as well, so I feel truly happy to have an Accommodation we can return to across three generations—my grandmother, my mother, and me. Unfortunately it rained this time, but thanks to that the signature stones and garden trees were gently wet, letting us enjoy a different kind of beautiful scenery than usual. Thank you again for your warm hospitality. I look forward to visiting again.

I was extremely satisfied with all the Facilities in the property. The all-inclusive plan and the amenities bar were both excellent. The meals were delicious, and they were served at just the right timing. I truly felt genuine hospitality from all the staff, and it was incredibly comfortable! I will definitely be back again.

The view from the window of the renovated Room is like a painting. We thoroughly enjoyed the in-room bath in complete privacy. Dinner was just the right amount, and we also enjoyed the sea bream rice at the end. The Shuttle Service from Fukuyama Station was also very helpful for those traveling by Shinkansen. We would love to stay again in a different season.

Although it was my first trip to Gifu and I arrived in the rain with a typhoon approaching, the Hotel was exactly as expected. The views between the Nagara River and Mt. Kinka—worthy of “Tenka Fubu”—along with the Onsen, meals, and wonderful hospitality were all excellent. Inside the Hotel, I even got to meet Nohime, making it an unforgettable trip. I would love to stay again.
