We originally planned to stay near Nikko Station, but we made a Reservation after seeing the great Reviews. The Facility is certainly old, but there is also a private bath, so we were able to relax. Above all, the food was absolutely delicious! Dinner was French cuisine with both fish and meat, and breakfast was a generous spread including fluffy omelets and juicy sausages. My family who traveled with me was very satisfied as well. Thank you very much.

We were surprised to be served a welcome drink at check-in and to complete the procedures on the sofa, but both the Room and the food were incredibly stylish and amazing. There was no TV, which really made it feel like an escape from everyday life, and we thought that was part of what made it such a special space. From the moment we walked in, I feel like we said “Wow” about 20 times. We’d definitely love to come back again.

Now that our family schedules finally lined up, we stayed at Yunishikawa Honkan again. The open-air bath is the perfect temperature for us, and this wonderful natural hot spring keeps our bodies warm until the next morning when we soak slowly and relax. We also always look forward to the Japanese meals, which are consistently delicious. The many dishes and the local sake tasting are excellent as well. The Onsen egg served with breakfast is outstanding, and this time too we ordered two packs to take home as a souvenir. For us as a parent and child who enjoy mountain stream fishing, this Accommodation is an important place to unwind, so even when it’s not for fishing we’d like to make time to visit again and enjoy the wonderful Onsen. This time we stayed in the Room at the very end of the 5th floor, and it was very comfortable with a toilet and air conditioning. We also enjoy hearing the owner’s stories every time—about hunting bears long ago, catching giant char, and gathering large maitake mushrooms. We are truly grateful to the proprietress emeritus, the proprietress, and all staff for their hospitality. We hope to visit again soon. Thank you in advance when we do.

My grandchild fell asleep during dinner, and the staff kindly prepared a chair that could also be used as a baby bed, which was very helpful. Thank you very much. The front desk staff were also courteous and made us feel welcome. If I had to mention anything, it might have been even better if there had been a pleasantly scented air freshener in the hallway leading to the pet rooms. Also, since we brought two Yorkshire Terriers, it would have been nice to have a few more pet amenities available.

To escape the Tokyo heat, I visited Oku-Nikko again this year. With concerns about bears, I chose this Hotel because both the open-air bath and the guest rooms felt safe and reassuring. It was my first stay in several years, and perhaps due to the renovation, the room, baths, and lounge were all very clean, making for a comfortable Hotel stay. The meals were delicious; if I had to mention one thing, I would have appreciated a Japanese-style option on the second night of my two-night stay. I would definitely like to stay again.

Even at midnight, Osaka has been close to 30°C these days, but here it felt almost chilly when we went outside at night. It was also the first time in a while that we could sleep well indoors without air conditioning. Unfortunately, it was a bit cloudy so we couldn’t see a sky full of stars, but since we usually live in an apartment, the kids were thrilled to be able to enjoy lots of fireworks—something we normally can’t do. The Facility was clean and well maintained throughout, and there were fewer bugs than expected, so we had a very comfortable stay. We’d love to stay again.

This was our second stay, following last year. We stayed for two nights with four adults and our dog (a Yorkshire Terrier). The Room is spacious, so even a family of four can relax comfortably. The bedroom is also roomy—when we pushed the two beds together, there was still plenty of space for three people. The pet amenities were well stocked, and we had a very comfortable stay even with our dog. The kitchen is easy to use, and it’s convenient that almost everything you need is provided except seasonings. The refrigerator was pre-stocked with drinks such as wine, cup sake, craft beer, cider, and juice, as well as snacks and sweets—these thoughtful touches were much appreciated. One small disappointment was the coffee. Although there were four of us, there were only three coffee capsules; having one per person would be better. Also, we realized too late that coffee for the second day required advance request by the previous day, so we couldn’t receive it and ended up buying some from a vending machine. For a Multiple Night Stay, clearer guidance would be appreciated. The terrace feels private, and although it’s on the first floor, you can see Lake Ashi and the torii gate of Hakone Shrine through the trees—the location is excellent. Last year we noticed quite a lot of weeds in the garden area, but this time it was neatly maintained; we were happy to see that improvement. The terrace footbath was a bit too hot for us. Even at the lowest temperature setting it was still hot; we added water to adjust it but found it difficult to get just right. This may depend on the season and personal preference, but finer temperature control would be welcome. Once at a comfortable temperature, enjoying the footbath while feeling the evening breeze would be wonderful—and likely become one of our favorite moments unique to this Accommodation. The BBQ grill kept on the terrace is also easy to use, making casual BBQs another great feature. Overall, being able to spend time with family and our dog without worrying about others is what makes this place especially appealing. With well-equipped Facility features and amenities—and a relaxing atmosphere with Lake Ashi nearby—this is an Accommodation we’d love to return to again.

Staying at Accommodations is my hobby, and I also work in a related field, so I tend to notice a lot of things. When I arrived and saw the building from the outside, I was a little disappointed, but once inside everything was very clean. Many of the staff seemed new, but their earnest efforts despite being unfamiliar with the work genuinely impressed me. Even though I can get irritated easily, I forgot all about it here. The Room had an open-air bath, it was fairly close to the parking lot, the food was delicious, and it offered great value for money! There wasn’t any mist when looking up above either—overall, for a traditional Onsen Ryokan, it was wonderful and I had a truly pleasant time. I will definitely come again soon.

It was a pension chosen for stargazing, but unfortunately, it rained. However, the scenery, the room, and the breakfast were all wonderful. I wished I could have stayed for a few more days. I became close with the owner couple and other guests we talked with, making it really hard to leave. I fell in love with Furano all over again! Definitely coming back next year.

A renovated traditional Japanese house Accommodation located at the top of a mountain road. The old beams and fittings have been preserved or beautifully repurposed, so it doesn’t feel outdated at all. Since the owner built it personally, there are a few small details that may feel slightly unfinished, but the space is very comfortable, with thoughtful touches in the furniture and decor throughout. I asked to change the schedule at short notice, and they kindly accommodated my request, which I truly appreciated. For the barbecue, they also showed us—together with our child—how to prepare the firewood and charcoal, which made our child very happy. It became a wonderful summer memory for us.

This is our second year staying here, and I’m convinced it’s an outstanding villa. The view of Mt. Fuji from here is among the top three I’ve ever seen. Everyone was so moved that they cried. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a standard cottage. The owners were very kind. The room had a pleasant wooden scent, and it was impeccably clean and well-maintained. There were clear guide signs placed throughout, making it easy to understand how to spend time and navigate the accommodation. It was such a lovely cottage that I would love to stay again. Thank you very much for today. This was, without a doubt, the best glamping Accommodation we have ever stayed at. First, the Room was very spacious, spotless in every corner, and extremely comfortable. What impressed me most was the bath. The jacuzzi bath was amazing, and amenities like ReFa shampoo and a hair dryer were provided as well—I could really feel the attention to detail. We were also completely satisfied with the meals. There was an incredible amount of food—meat, rice, rainbow trout, vegetables, and more—and it was the most generous portion size we’ve ever had at any BBQ facility. I’m honestly disappointed that we could only finish about half of the meat and rice because there was just so much. It truly felt luxurious and exceeded our expectations. Outside the Room there was a hammock that was wonderfully relaxing. Also, the barrel sauna—my first time trying one—was available 24 hours a day. Going back and forth between the sauna, the jacuzzi bath in our Room, and the hammock allowed us to enjoy an incredibly indulgent time. Within the Facility there were many activities for both adults and children—hands-on athletic courses like zip lines, a fishing pond, vegetable harvesting experiences, and more. It was so fulfilling that we didn’t have enough time to do everything. At the premium lounge, we could freely enjoy alcohol, soft drinks, snacks, and more—which made us very happy. Breakfast was excellent as well. Not only was everything delicious; even the tableware—including bowls—was beautiful and showed great care in every detail. It was my first time enjoying a breakfast where even the dishes themselves were part of what made it special. Above all else, what moved me most was how wonderful all of your staff were. In particular one female staff member greeted us with a smile throughout our stay and kindly answered all of our questions. Also when we accidentally booked/mistook our Room due to our own Reservation mistake (and ended up with another Room), you kindly changed it for us without hesitation—we are truly grateful. The Room(s), meals/food/dining experience , Onsen & sauna , activities , lounge , staff hospitality —everything about this place is outstanding . This is an Accommodation that genuinely made us think: “We will definitely come again.” It’s a bit far from Tokyo or other parts of Kanto; however it’s absolutely worth traveling specifically to visit . I would highly recommend it not only to travelers from Tohoku but also those coming from Kanto Kansai Kyushu—and even from overseas . The cost performance/value for money is truly exceptional ; this is easily one of those places where you can sincerely say “I’m so glad we came.” We will definitely return . Thank you very much .

We were deeply impressed by the hospitality that cannot be experienced at ordinary accommodations. Our child, who loves fishing, was kindly guided when catching Amago and rainbow trout at the fishing pond. The BBQ had a perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. Breakfast was a typical Japanese meal but reflected meticulous care in its preparation. The manager played with us using rubber band guns and bamboo dragonflies, which our child found incredibly fun. Even though we stayed at other accommodations during this trip, our family still talks about how much they enjoyed their time at this riverside accommodation even a month later.

Thank you very much for your flexible support. All of the staff were friendly, kind, and attentive, and we had a very comfortable stay. We were able to rent a yukata for our dog—something she rarely gets to wear—and took some adorable photos. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Because our stay was on a tight schedule, we couldn’t go fishing this time, but our dog happily ran around in the spacious dog run, and we were very satisfied with our stay at this Accommodation. When we visit Nanyo or Shirataka again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

This was my first time staying here. The Facility is new and very clean, and the sauna in particular was very comfortable, with oils and other items provided. As for the amenities, it was a bit disappointing that the frying pan was old, but there were no inconveniences at all overall, and everything was easy to use.

This was my third visit, but it was my first time experiencing rainbow trout fishing and firewood chopping. I was surprised that such valuable experiences, which could easily be offered as optional paid activities, were included in the original Accommodation Fee. The foil-grilled rainbow trout I caught myself was absolutely delicious! The staff were incredibly kind, spoke warmly with smiles, and their gentle demeanor created a soothing atmosphere. When I couldn't figure out how to use the BBQ grill for dinner and the charcoal went out once, the staff kindly assisted me, for which I am very grateful. Also, the breakfast the next morning was amazing—everything tasted fantastic! It was unfortunate that the outdoor bath couldn't be used due to renovation work, but I definitely want to stay here again next time.
