I loved the Japanese-modern exterior and the chic, calming interior. The guest room had a high ceiling, and the alcove lantern added a wonderful Japanese ambiance—I could really feel the good taste in the design. I heard there are only about 10 rooms in total, so the Onsen was never crowded and I could soak at my leisure. Dinner featured a wide variety of dishes using summer vegetables, seasonal fish, and local ingredients; I was very satisfied with the gentle seasoning. The edamame potage is something I’d love to have again. Breakfast also offered plenty of options and more than enough food—above all, the rice was delicious. From welcome to farewell, I felt truly high-quality service in every interaction with the staff. It was a stay that reminded me how glad I am to choose a Ryokan again after such a long time. Highly recommended Accommodation!

I stayed for two nights as a solo traveler (no dinner, breakfast included). The building itself seems old, but the interior was very clean and I had a comfortable stay. Based on the Accommodation Fee, I had certain expectations, but it exceeded them. I’m glad I chose to stay at Marumo. Thank you very much!

I had been struggling with light sleep and not feeling well-rested for quite some time, when I happened to see the words “sleep therapy” on IKYU and decided to book immediately. Services like this are often available for only one guest, so it was wonderful that both of us could receive the treatment at the same time. My husband was also very pleased. The Room lighting, Onsen temperature, and bedding were all thoughtfully arranged as well, and thanks to that, we both slept soundly through the night. From the welcome sweets onward, both dinner and breakfast were delicious. However, it was a little disappointing that the Tajima beef was served on a hot plate rather than charcoal-grilled. With a hot plate, you don’t really get the benefits of charcoal grilling, so it felt like some of the flavor was lost. The staff were full of hospitality and absolutely wonderful. It was our first visit to Yumura Onsen, but we loved its charming atmosphere and sense of tradition, so we definitely want to return. When we do, we would of course like to book a Plan that includes the sleep therapy again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

It was a wonderful Hotel that exuded classic history and elegance. Not only were the in-house Facilities excellent, but we were also truly impressed by the delicious cuisine and the breathtaking panoramic view over Toba Bay. Above all, the staff’s attentive care and warm hospitality were outstanding, allowing us to spend our entire stay in comfort and relaxation. At the club lounge, we enjoyed a leisurely time along with high-quality drinks and lounge-exclusive dishes. The cheesecake—so well known that people say “Toba International Hotel means cheesecake”—was indeed as delicious as its reputation suggests, adding a special touch to our stay. In addition, the “Pearl Aurora Bath” infused with pearl ingredients at Shiojitei on the grounds was exceptional; its shimmering water gently soothed away our travel fatigue. The food, location, bath, and service from the staff—everything made for a highly satisfying stay. This is a truly wonderful Hotel that we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay. When we needed to change our dates due to a typhoon hitting directly, you handled it very courteously. The Room, the large public bath, and the breakfast were all excellent—I was completely satisfied. I would like to stay again next time. Thank you very much for everything.

I stayed here for the first time because they offered a Plan where the fish you catch at the fishing pond is served at dinner. I’ve stayed in Shirahama Onsen several times, but there aren’t many places that will cook your catch, so I really appreciated this Plan. Their coordination with the fishing pond was excellent—when we arrived, the application form was already prepared, and we could start fishing right away without bringing anything. They also packed our fish in a foam cooler with ice, and we checked in to the Hotel as-is. At dinner, two of the three fish we caught were prepared as sashimi and fried chicken-style, and we were able to take the remaining one home (thank you very much to the head chef). Our Room was No. 603 on the Royal Floor, with Shirarahama Beach right in front—an unbeatable location. The Room had a table with four chairs plus a sofa, and it was spacious and comfortable. My wife also said the washroom area was large, bright, and easy to use. For those going swimming in the sea, you can go straight from the Hotel out to Shirarahama Beach, so it seems ideal for families with children as well. The Onsen also had an open-air bath; it was spacious with great water quality, and we could relax while looking out over Shirarahama Beach (in the morning it switches to the first floor bathhouse, so there’s no view). Dinner was served in a private room and everything was delicious (if I had to say one thing, the sukiyaki beef wasn’t quite as good), and having our freshly caught fish on top of that made us more than satisfied. For breakfast we chose the buffet; there were plenty of options including Wakayama ramen, which was great. One example of their attentive service: when I almost forgot to pick up our fish to take home at checkout, someone at reception noticed and helped us bring it back safely. If I have another chance, I’d like to stay again with this fishing-pond Plan.

We stayed again this year, following last year’s visit. This time, it was a 2-night, 3-day beach trip for three of us: an elderly couple and our granddaughter (first grade). Both on arrival and departure, the staff guided us in the parking lot, helped carry our luggage, and spoke to us kindly—this was extremely helpful. Working in this heat must be tough; thank you for all your hard work. The building was very clean, and the Room cleaning was thorough. The meals were delicious, and we enjoyed dinner both nights while watching beautiful sunsets. The dinner style differed between the first and second nights: on the first night we had a kaiseki course featuring Murakami beef shabu-shabu as the main dish, and on the second night we had a seafood kaiseki course. Both the Murakami beef on day one and the crab on day two were excellent—our granddaughter finished her crab within minutes of starting dinner. If I had to ask for one thing, I would have loved even a small portion of Murakami beef on the second night as well, since it’s something you can only eat when visiting this area (though we do make use of hometown tax donations). We were originally told that dinner would be at “Kaiou” on both nights, but about 15 minutes before dinner on the second night we suddenly received notice of a venue change. The staff member apologized repeatedly; however, in a Hotel that accommodates so many guests, it actually reassured me that careful checks are being done in advance. Buffet-style dining isn’t bad, but for an elderly couple like us, having kaiseki served at just the right timing is much easier. I sincerely hope you will continue offering it. It’s also wonderful that right behind the Hotel is a beach with excellent access: after leaving the beach we could rinse off sand at the outdoor showers and head straight to the Onsen. There was even a washing machine available to rinse swimsuits—truly convenient. After soaking in the Onsen, all three of us relaxed in the lobby while enjoying complimentary Momotaro ice pops. On day two, when we asked at reception for advice so we could enjoy swimming at Sasagawa Nagare Beachline area more fully—including which beach and where to park—they kindly helped us with great care. There was also plenty of information we couldn’t get from checking with AI beforehand; combining both made our trip even more enjoyable. Local knowledge really is invaluable. On our final day as well—at our granddaughter’s request—we enjoyed swimming until mid-afternoon before rinsing off sand in the shower and saltiness in the Onsen prior to heading home. Driving back to Tokyo after swimming was tiring, but it became a fulfilling trip full of wonderful memories. If my stamina holds up, I’d love to come again next year. Thank you very much.

I was amazed by the amount of food served at dinner. There was more than I could finish, and given the times we live in, I felt very sorry about that. With plenty of fresh Sanriku seafood and a relaxing soak in the Onsen, it was an Accommodation I was extremely satisfied with.

Thank you very much for allowing us to spend such a relaxing time the other day. We traveled to Hokkaido to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and stayed here for our third night. Thanks to your many thoughtful gestures and warm hospitality, we had an absolutely wonderful time. We were truly surprised and delighted by the gift: you took photos of us and presented them with a message on a shikishi board. We have it displayed at home now. We also appreciated the complimentary champagne toast at dinner from the head chef, and the celebratory glutinous rice dish at breakfast. Everything was delicious—the kaiseki cuisine as well as the additional orders: crab, whelk, sweet shrimp, and uni sushi. It was a feast of wonderful flavors. The Onsen water had a silky texture, and I went to soak several times a day. Unfortunately it was cloudy when viewing from the open-air bath, but listening to the sound of the waves while soaking in water that left my skin so smooth was incredibly soothing. There were also four kinds of beer available after bathing, along with so many other complimentary services that I can’t list them all. Time flew by during our stay, and as we headed on to Hakodate next, we kept thinking that one night wasn’t enough. The tarako we had at breakfast was so delicious that we bought some to take home. It will be arriving soon by courier service, and I’m looking forward to enjoying it. Thank you very much.

Because my son uses a wheelchair, the restaurant staff kindly assisted us, which was very helpful. We truly appreciate their thoughtful care. The meal was delicious, made with very fresh ingredients. The wine explanations were excellent, and the timing of serving the three wines was perfect. We would love to stay again.

We stayed as a family of three. We had an elderly family member with us, and we sincerely appreciate the staff’s thoughtful care. The meals were delicious, just as other Reviews mentioned, and even my mother—whose appetite has decreased—was able to take her time and finish almost everything. The bath, including the handrails by the tub, was easy for an elderly person to use. When we visit Ise again, we would love to stay here.

I made a Reservation to relax after visiting the Dewa Sanzan mountains. The bath was spacious and very relaxing, and I was satisfied with the meals. I returned to Tokyo feeling completely refreshed. I will stay here again when I visit Yamagata.

I stayed here once shortly after it opened, and the view from the Room, the cleanliness, and the bath were all outstanding, so with my birthday coming up I decided to visit again. Just like last time, everything was just as wonderful; the meals felt even more generous than before, and they were delicious—I was very satisfied. As with all Accommodations in this group, the service is excellent and full of thoughtful touches, so I can confidently recommend it to anyone. Thank you very much.

It was my first stay in several years. At check-in, the front desk staff member from overseas explained everything very politely, which was great. The welcome drink was also nice. The Room size, the spacious bath, the strong shower water pressure, and the bath additive among the amenities were all excellent. The cleaning was spotless as well. Even though they were busy at breakfast, all the staff greeted guests and spoke up when replenishing items—everyone was energetic and it felt great. There was a wide variety of dishes; the pork miso soup with plenty of ingredients (not seafood) and the hearty curry were both delicious. The location is also great, within walking distance to Susukino. With this level of satisfaction, the Accommodation Fee feels like a great value, so it’s a Hotel that makes you want to stay again. It had been a while since I stayed at a Hotel I was this satisfied with.

This was my first stay, and I stayed in a wonderful Room renovated from a warehouse, where I could enjoy a Scandinavian atmosphere. Breakfast was also very stylish—cheese, bread, soup, and fruit—and I really enjoyed it. During my stay, the Hakodate fireworks festival happened to be on, so I was able to enjoy both the night sky and the night view of Hakodate. Over two days, I also went golfing during the daytime; it’s about 30–40 minutes from the Hotel, so I felt it’s perfect for a sightseeing + golf trip as well. All of the Hotel staff were very kind and attentive, and I truly appreciate all the explanations and advice they provided. I would definitely like to stay again.

Dormy Inn is well-known, but since it’s a Business Hotel and very reasonably priced, I expected it to be just okay. It was wonderful. The Room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and I slept soundly. It was hot outside, but the Hotel was cooled down with strong air conditioning. There were welcome drinks and ice pops, plus water and even snacks in the Room. The Onsen was the real deal—silky smooth and luxuriously thick. And breakfast had eel hitsumabushi!? The taste was just as good as at a specialty eel restaurant! I underestimated Dormy Inn. I’m a fan again.

We drove from Chiba. As an older couple, we chose this Onsen Accommodation so we could leave at a relaxed pace and truly unwind. It was a wonderful place that exceeded our expectations. The detached Room, the bath, and the meals were all outstanding. The meal included an impressive number of dishes, but each portion was thoughtfully sized, so even we were able to finish everything. The next day, we enjoyed the gentle Onsen three times and headed home unhurriedly. This is now on our list of places we definitely want to visit again.

I stayed here because it is close to Chuson-ji Temple. Even considering that it has only recently been renovated, the entire property—including the Room, Onsen, and shared areas—was kept very clean, and I had a very comfortable stay. The meals were excellent, and I was very satisfied to enjoy local specialties such as Maesawa beef steak, Sanriku seafood, Hatto soup, and Horohoro-zuke pickles. I would love to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

First, thank you for accommodating my food allergies despite the last-minute Reservation the day before. The Accommodation is tucked away in the mountains, quiet and surrounded by nature—yet surprisingly well located with views out over the sea. There is no Shuttle Service to the Accommodation, so I took a taxi from Izu-Kogen Station. There aren’t many taxis waiting, but you should be able to get one without too long a wait. As it’s truly a detached-style Accommodation, each Room is set apart, so you don’t have to worry about noise from other guests. I believe all Rooms are detached and the number of guests is limited. The villa has high ceilings and a charming design, with an indoor bath featuring large windows as well as a private open-air bath in the Room. There’s also a small garden and an open-air bath without a roof. Of course, being outdoors means it’s affected by the weather. The views are lovely, but once you sink into the tub you can’t really see the ocean—just so you know. On clear nights, you can enjoy a sky full of stars. In-room dining was attentive and comfortable throughout, and I truly appreciated how carefully they adjusted the dishes for my allergies. They can also add or modify menus using local ingredients to suit your preferences. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks, and amenities were more than sufficient. I was able to relax without needing to leave my Room at all. A recommended Japanese-style Accommodation where you can unwind in privacy without worrying about others’ eyes.
