As the Facility is old, it was difficult to adjust the shower temperature in the bathroom, and sometimes the bidet toilet did not provide warm water. However, the Room was clean and the meals were delicious. The accommodation cost was reasonable, and I am satisfied.

After enjoying a touring experience in Wakayama, savoring delicious Kue cuisine has become an annual pleasure. The sunset over the Pacific Ocean viewed from the dining Room was incredibly beautiful. Looking forward to next season as well!

This was a well-deserved trip to celebrate my retirement, and the hospitality was outstanding. I carefully researched in advance, and it truly paid off. The crab was exactly as promised—1.5 servings of the real thing. Without me asking, the young proprietress noticed my build and changed my yukata to the right size. The Onsen could be reserved for private use, so I could relax at ease. I’d love to come back next year for another crab feast!

Having stayed here before, I decided to visit again. The dinner was incredibly delicious with generous portions, leaving me completely satisfied. Paired with the wine provided, I had an enjoyable and delightful evening. For breakfast, while not overly voluminous, the refreshing smoothie, thoughtful salad, and risotto were perfect for starting the day—truly satisfying. Considering all this, the price is unbelievably reasonable. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you very much!

A month after returning from my trip, what I still remember most is the owner’s generously piled chicken tempura rice bowl—he started preparing it from midday when I said I wanted to eat it, even though it wasn’t planned—and the cheerful hostess who told me about what makes the island special and about the stars here. This is a warm Accommodation run by wonderful people like them. The tuna rice bowl was also delicious, and breakfast was great too—an Accommodation that makes you look forward to every meal. From the terrace you can see the sea and hear the waves, which feels truly luxurious. The Room and Facility were clean, but since it’s exactly as shown in the photos, it may be best to think of it as similar to dorm-style living. It’s an Accommodation where travelers can drop in casually and then set off again on their journey. Thank you so much for giving me pain-relief patches as a souvenir when I threw out my back, and for driving me to the bus stop at the bottom of the hill. I’d love to come back someday just to eat again.

This Accommodation is an entire private house, so it may feel a bit oversized for two people for one night. However, since we had previously stayed in cramped business hotels, the sense of space here was on a completely different level, and it really helped us recover from the day’s fatigue. There are many Rooms, including some hideout-like spots, and there are also two toilets, so I think it’s ideal for groups staying multiple nights—especially for those who want to cook for themselves. That said, perhaps because it was during a holiday period, the bathroom cleaning didn’t seem to be done in time, and the drain was dirty. It was a bit disappointing given how great everything else was. Overall it was excellent, and if we have another chance next time, we would definitely like to stay again.

We luxuriated in a warm bath with an ocean view while watching the sunset. We enjoyed Oki beef BBQ in a spacious Room. We were able to relax at our leisure.

Used by a family of four. Since our children are small, we chose in-Room dining for dinner. Both the in-Room meal and the breakfast buffet were delicious. Our 2-year-old loved the kids’ area and played there for over two hours. There also seemed to be many guests who looked like government employees, and we hardly saw any foreign visitors. The only disappointments were that the futons were a bit thin, the mobile signal was weak, and the Wi-Fi connection was not very reliable.

I visited here as a child, and the exterior hasn’t changed. It’s an old building, but the inside is very well cleaned and everything was spotless—especially the wooden hallways, which were shiny everywhere. The Onsen baths—the semi-open-air cave-style bath and the family bath with plenty of yunohana—were very hot, and I personally couldn’t get in without adding cold water. The large public bath was just slightly on the hot side. The meals were reasonably tasty—a typical mountain Ryokan menu with a bit more wild vegetables than usual. The grilled fish with soba miso in the photo was especially delicious. Because of the antenna, TV reception wasn’t good, so I’d really like this to be fixed. I heard this Ryokan has been operating for over 400 years, and I hope it continues for many years to come.

The lovely couple who returned to their hometown and newly built this Accommodation as their home runs it, and we were able to relax very comfortably. Having previously operated a restaurant in Tokyo, they served wonderful dishes using local ingredients, and we were very satisfied with their carefully curated wine selection. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that I’d love to see featured on “Jinsei no Rakuen.”

The building is undeniably old, but it was clean and well maintained. The staff were also very helpful. If the breakfast buffet had offered a few more options, it would have been perfect!

We stayed here for a family trip. This Ryokan is in a quiet location a little away from the Kurokawa Onsen area. We stayed in the Matatabi annex Room, which has an open-air bath by the river, and the sound of the flowing water, wild birdsong, and the scent of the Onsen created a truly peaceful private space that felt wonderfully comfortable. The meals were outstanding both in presentation and taste, and we were completely satisfied. We were told that everything is prepared using fresh spring water that wells up abundantly throughout the grounds. The Onsen temperature was just right, and we enjoyed a luxurious time listening to the river. The staff were friendly and greeted us warmly. Everyone—from those serving our meals to those caring for the garden—had wonderful smiles and greetings. We could also really feel how much the proprietress values her guests, which touched us deeply. It was truly an excellent Accommodation. We are glad we chose it, and it became a memorable trip for us.

The Onsen was wonderful, and the thoughtfully prepared seasonal cuisine was delicious. The Room was barrier-free, with views of the green mountains from the window. Art panels and lighting featuring Gokayama washi paper were used throughout, creating a very pleasant space. The bed firmness was just right, helping us recover from travel fatigue, and we were able to relax and take our time. We also learned about the Kokiriko folk song at this Accommodation. The staff were friendly and attentive, making this an Accommodation whose hospitality stayed with us. Thank you very much.

I was unsure where to stay for my first time visiting the Sendai Tanabata Festival, but I was able to make a Reservation about a week in advance. The price was very reasonable—around 5,000 yen per person. [During my stay, there was an earthquake around 3:00 a.m. while I was asleep, but it didn’t shake much.] I slept well and had a relaxing night.

We stayed for two nights, using this dog-first Accommodation as our base for exploring Shiga and Hyogo. The Room had a wonderful atmosphere, and even with five adults it didn’t feel cramped—we were able to relax comfortably. Having a convenience store right in front is very handy, but since the street out front has quite a bit of traffic, light sleepers may notice the noise. The bedroom was on the second floor, and the stairs were steeper than expected. With a small dog you can probably carry them up, but if you’re bringing a medium-sized or larger dog that sleeps with you upstairs, it might be a bit challenging. Our dog was happy relaxing downstairs, so it wasn’t an issue for us. We also wanted to visit “Juunintoiro” with our dog, but we ended up getting back late from watching the Inter-High games and couldn’t make it—such a shame. Next time we’d love to come in a cooler season, enjoy Omihachiman at a leisurely pace, and stop by Juunintoiro during our walk!

I booked the day before for a solo trip, and the service was more than sufficient. I’d like to stay again, so I hope you’ll expand to more areas, and it would be even better if there were space for a family of four to stay.

I stayed for six nights during the Gion Festival. Within walking distance from the hotel, there are preservation societies for the festival floats, and while exploring them, Shijo Street is also nearby. Shinmachi Street, where the floats return to their respective neighborhoods after the procession, is also close, allowing you to see the impressive floats up close. The transportation is convenient, with many convenience stores and cafes around, and the room is clean. I was worried that a week-long stay might be tiring, but it was a comfortable stay.
