Guest House Usagi to Kame

We stayed for two nights, using this dog-first Accommodation as our base for exploring Shiga and Hyogo. The Room had a wonderful atmosphere, and even with five adults it didn’t feel cramped—we were able to relax comfortably. Having a convenience store right in front is very handy, but since the street out front has quite a bit of traffic, light sleepers may notice the noise. The bedroom was on the second floor, and the stairs were steeper than expected. With a small dog you can probably carry them up, but if you’re bringing a medium-sized or larger dog that sleeps with you upstairs, it might be a bit challenging. Our dog was happy relaxing downstairs, so it wasn’t an issue for us. We also wanted to visit “Juunintoiro” with our dog, but we ended up getting back late from watching the Inter-High games and couldn’t make it—such a shame. Next time we’d love to come in a cooler season, enjoy Omihachiman at a leisurely pace, and stop by Juunintoiro during our walk!

We traveled as a family of four plus one small dog. The two-story house had a stylish interior, making us feel like we were in a different world. The bathroom featured an indoor shower room and an outdoor bathtub, which was lovely. The kids were thrilled to watch YouTube and Hulu during our stay. However, the table was very low, so we had to be cautious about the dog sneaking food. Additionally, we placed luggage in front of the stairs to prevent the dog from going up on its own. It might not be ideal for families with small children, but it’s perfect for adults looking for a satisfying stay!
