Akita Art Village Onsen Yuppopo

I was completely satisfied with this Accommodation.I chose it because they allowed me to check in at 11:00 PM after a festival event, and because the Onsen is available for bathing all night. First of all, I loved the thoughtful idea of opening the Onsen Facility—normally used for day trips during the daytime—exclusively for overnight guests at night. By chance it was a large-bath day (apparently some days have only a smaller bath), and since it was the last night of Obon, I had it all to myself and could enjoy it luxuriously. The large bath doesn’t have a sauna, but there is also a lukewarm bath fed directly from the source; alternating between that and the hot bath completely washed away my fatigue from the day.Breakfast the next morning was buffet-style. I didn’t expect much because I assumed it would be mostly just rice with raw egg, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rice with raw egg was excellent, and there were also porridge and a wide variety of side dishes with great seasoning. For dessert, there were two kinds of fresh fruit—watermelon and pineapple—and they were sweet and very satisfying.I would definitely like to stay here again.

All Hotels around Akita Station were fully booked, so we ended up making a last-minute Reservation at this Ryokan.It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car from Akita Station, but it didn’t feel particularly inconvenient.However, since it was after the Kanto Festival, the drive to this Ryokan at night was quite scary on the dark roads.That said, the Onsen temperature was very comfortable.Breakfast here is buffet-style with a wide variety of Japanese dishes, and everything was delicious.I would like to visit again if I have the chance.
