Hotel Yamanami

It was a triple Room, but with two beds and a sofa, it felt like a twin Room. There was a chair facing the window and a minibar area, giving it an upscale feel for the price. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept well.Some guests may be unhappy that there is no welcome service or in-room guidance, but I didn’t mind—if that would raise the price, I’d rather not have it.The Onsen is an alkaline spring. The main bath was slightly hot at about 41–42°C, while the “wine bath” (a tub with what seemed like moisturizing bath additives) was around 40°C. The water had that smooth, slightly slippery feel typical of alkaline springs and was excellent. The changing area was also clean and comfortable.Dinner portions were modest, but I could finish everything easily and felt full—just the right amount for me since I don’t like overeating or leaving food. Everything tasted great, with a nice variety of dishes to enjoy. The pudding dessert was also delicious. For breakfast, side dishes were served at the table, while salad, yogurt, rice, miso soup, etc., were buffet-style. The miso soup setup involved pouring broth into bowls that already contained shellfish; since I can’t eat shellfish and asked for an empty bowl to take just the broth, they kindly prepared wakame-and-nameko miso soup for me instead—I really appreciated that. It was very tasty.This time I stayed at a great value through Japan’s hometown tax donation program (furusato nozei), so I was extremely satisfied overall. It seems they don’t usually accept solo Reservations, but if I get another chance, I’d love to visit again.

It is close to Isawa Station, and it felt like many older guests stay here. The large public bath also has a sauna. While it is not particularly luxurious, it is a relaxing space where you can unwind.I have stayed at several Onsen Ryokan in Isawa, and this was a place where I could spend a gentle, peaceful time.I would be happy to stay again if I have the opportunity.Thank you very much.
