AMANE RESORT GAHAMA (Gahama Terrace)

Beppu for the first time in a year—and GAHAMA Terrace. Nothing to complain about; we had a very comfortable stay. I really do love this place. I also love the view from the maisonette—being at eye level with the sea is wonderful—but it might be better if the plants were trimmed a bit. I know they grow back quickly in summer, so it may be difficult, but from inside, having the ocean fill the entire window is simply perfect. We’ll visit again when it gets cooler. GAHAMA is amazing, and Beppu is amazing too.

On the second day of our Golden Week trip to Beppu, we stayed one night in a GAHAMA Tower Japanese-Western Room with the “GAHAMA 10th Anniversary Special Kaiseki Featuring Seki Aji and Oita Wagyu” Plan. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit disappointing—heavy rain on arrival day, then sunshine the next day. Since there was no Shuttle Service available, we got around by rental car.First of all, I was amazed by how spacious the Room was. The large living area with a great view, the tatami room, and the relaxing bedroom were all separate spaces. It was also very convenient that the closet area included a dedicated makeup room. We enjoyed the bath with a nice view as well, but because check-in ended up being late, it was a shame we couldn’t make it to the large public bath at “AMANE RESORT SEIKAI” next door. Well, we’ll be sure to visit there on our next stay.Dinner was an upgraded course featuring Seki Aji and charcoal-grilled Oita Wagyu filet—pretty much as good as expected. Breakfast, including their signature ryukyu dish, was also delicious.We didn’t get to spend much time in the lounge with complimentary drinks including alcohol, but it was spacious and quiet, which was great. We also visited the bar and enjoyed various Facility offerings as well. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying stay.
