Gora Tsuki no Izumi

We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary.The Room and the in-room bath were very clean, and we were able to relax and enjoy a wonderful time.Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding—everything we tried was delicious, and we were truly impressed.All of the staff were kind, greeting us each time we crossed paths,and although it was only a one-night stay, we felt very comfortable throughout.We sincerely hope to stay again if we have the opportunity.Thank you very much for providing such a lovely experience.

We visited for a short trip to celebrate our 3-year anniversary.When making the Reservation, I mentioned that it was a special occasion and noted foods I don’t like and allergy ingredients. They kindly prepared alternatives for the items I can’t eat and even congratulated us—such thoughtful, attentive service truly moved me. Even staff members we passed in the hallway stopped and bowed to us. Their considerate hospitality was incredibly comforting and made us very happy.The Room was spacious, spotless, quiet, and we didn’t notice any surrounding noise at all. Outside, we could hear only natural sounds—the water in the open-air bath, the wind, and the trees—and it was such a peaceful space that just lying down with my eyes closed felt like I could fall asleep immediately (and I actually did). As soon as we arrived, we took a quick soak in the open-air bath, had dinner, returned for another long soak (until we were completely warmed through), and enjoyed the footbath the next day as well. We could have stayed in forever.Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Even unfamiliar dishes were beautifully seasoned and felt like a fresh experience, while familiar foods tasted unbelievably good thanks to true professional skill. It felt far removed from everyday life—such a happy time. We had breakfast at 9:00 a.m., but it was so good that I ended up having three bowls of rice (the rice itself was amazing!).It was just before the rainy season and we were fairly lucky with the weather; there wasn’t much wind and the temperature was perfect, so everything—including that—was comfortable throughout our stay. Before arriving, we took a walk around Gora Park; some hydrangeas were already in full bloom and absolutely beautiful.Next time, I’d love to come in summer—to soak in the open-air bath while listening to summer insects—and enjoy summer vegetables and fruit as well. I can see why many people would say “If you’re coming to Hakone, this is the place!” We will definitely return! This was my first time staying at an authentic Ryokan-style Accommodation like this, and it exceeded all expectations—I’m truly satisfied.We walked from Gora Station, so there’s quite a steep uphill slope that almost discouraged us—but it was absolutely worth making it to the top. It was amazing—an incredible trip overall. Thank you very much!
