Dinner featured an abundance of fresh local ingredients and seasonal Yamagata specialties, and I was impressed until the very last bite. Breakfast was also varied and delicious, leaving me fully satisfied from the morning. The staff who served the meals were attentive with perfect timing and clear explanations, making it a truly luxurious experience. Not only the cuisine, but also the refined atmosphere of this long-established Accommodation, the thoughtful hospitality, and the spacious, open-air bath (Onsen) were all outstanding—everything exceeded my expectations. I felt completely refreshed in both body and mind. Thank you for the wonderful meal; I will definitely return.

This year again, the two of us had a wonderful stay.This time we came by motorcycle instead of by car.We used early check-in and late check-out.Our room was the same type as last year, but a different room.It had a round ceramic open-air bath.It was spacious enough for two, and even more relaxing when used alone.We truly enjoyed the luxury of continuously flowing hot spring water.I can’t even count how many times we soaked—we were completely pruned up (lol).Thank you for exchanging and providing extra bath towels.Since we were on a motorcycle rather than in a car, we had to pack light, which can be a bit inconvenient.But you kindly replaced them without hesitation, and we really appreciated it.The quality of the hot spring water is excellent—my skin felt smooth, it didn’t dry out easily, and it warmed my body thoroughly.We also used the large public bath—every section both at night and in the morning.Maybe because it was a weekday and there were fewer guests, it was quiet and very relaxing.This year as well, I borrowed a colored yukata.At Koyo, women can borrow colored yukata for free, so I’d be happy if that service were available here too at Bankokuya.Rooms with private open-air baths or suites are priced higher, so having free rentals would be especially appreciated.Dinner was the shabu-shabu kaiseki course meal.It was the same as last year and absolutely delicious again.Thank you for preparing a private dining room for us at the restaurant as well.And thank you to the gentleman at the front desk for your thoughtful care.We enjoyed our meal slowly in peace and quiet.I especially love the chawanmushi (savory egg custard) and the pie stew—it’s filled with seafood and tastes amazing. And one of our main highlights: the shabu-shabu was fantastic. The fat wasn’t heavy at all—I felt like I could eat endless amounts.Another big reason we come is breakfast: sea bream rice!The flavor hasn’t changed—it was truly delicious. The simmered sea bream was also excellent. Being able to enjoy consistently delicious food with an unchanged taste makes us so happy to return here every time. I love Bankokuya’s seasoning style. I also love the dessert pudding—it's not overly sweet, very smooth, and delicious.Unfortunately I accidentally broke one of the bowls I bought last year,so this year I bought two more. And since your onsen manju buns are so good, I couldn’t resist buying some as well. They were souvenirs for my coworkers—the red bean paste in particular was delicious and got rave reviews.This is a wonderful inn that I can confidently recommend to friends!Thank you very much,and we will definitely visit again.
