This was our fifth stay in two consecutive years (we also visited 12 and 25 years ago, haha). The Room was clean, the meals were delicious, and we especially enjoyed the extra-ordered red ika somen. We also loved the welcome chestnut steamed yokan. We had one from a famous confectionery in Kyoto the day before, but this one suited our taste better. We bought some at the shop on our way home. Thank you very much for upgrading our Room as well. As we were leaving, the proprietress kindly said, “Please come again,” so we hope to visit again next year. Thank you very much.

I stayed at this Ryokan specifically to enjoy ayu, as it is famous for its ayu cuisine. At dinner, a wide variety of ayu dishes were served, and I thoroughly enjoyed more than 10 fish. The most delicious was the ayu rice; even though I was already full, I ended up having two bowls. The non-ayu dishes also looked excellent, so next time I plan to try dishes other than ayu. The proprietress, the attendants, and the head chef were all friendly, and I had a wonderful time. It was a pity that the bath was not an Onsen, but it was spacious enough for more than the number of guests staying there, so I could soak at leisure and ease my travel fatigue. As this is a historic culinary Ryokan, you can’t expect modern comforts; however, it is well maintained in its own way and offers a different kind of comfort from today’s luxury Ryokan. This Accommodation lets you experience the comfort of a traditional Japanese inn.

I stayed here with my sister and her husband while it was snowing heavily. The Accommodation has both a first and second floor, making it a Room layout I had never experienced before. The in-Room bath had plenty of hot water flowing continuously, which was perfect for a morning soak. The meals were also very delicious.

I stayed one night on my own as a man nearing 60. I used to visit from time to time, but after my divorce last year I stopped coming for a while. I decided it was time to reset and enjoy solo travel again. The parking guidance was very kind, and the proprietress’s welcome felt wonderful. The room had a private open-air bath and was very clean; although not new, it had great character and was truly relaxing. After being shown to my room, I immediately enjoyed the signature “Tanbo-no-Yu” bath. Since it was a Friday even though it was a weekday, there were many families and the place felt lively. There are several baths at different temperatures, so you easily lose track of time and end up staying longer than planned. And despite what some reviews say, there was absolutely no chlorine smell at all. The water was excellent, and even eased the pain from small cuts on my skin quite a bit—thank you. Dining is what I look forward to most when visiting Ryusenkaku. It’s always delicious: kaiseki-style creative cuisine that combines delicate dashi flavors with bold preparation, beautifully presented so you can enjoy it with your eyes as well. Some reviews mentioned that service by foreign staff is not good, but that wasn’t true at all! Meals (including breakfast) are served in private rooms, and the guidance and service were very kind and easy to understand—I could relax and enjoy everything with peace of mind. For someone traveling alone like me, it’s nothing less than blissful! “Tanbo-no-Yu” is available until 10:00 p.m., so I went again after dinner. I love “Tanbo-no-Yu” at night—the steam drifting through the spotlight makes it especially beautiful. I could soak forever. After that, I enjoyed the in-room open-air bath right up until bedtime. Again, there was no chlorine smell like some people mention. Having an in-room open-air bath you can use freely anytime without worrying about others is truly top-tier luxury! I’ve also seen comments about Wi-Fi not connecting or weak reception, but in my room there were no issues at all. In the morning I enjoyed the in-room open-air bath right up until checkout time; when I went to the front desk to check out, there was another pleasant surprise. On previous visits I hadn’t known this, but this time I learned that there is also a young proprietress (the owner’s daughter). She is incredibly beautiful—and while natural and unpretentious in her manner—exceptionally kind as well; she seemed like such a wonderful person! When seeing me off at my car she waved with a lovely smile—it made for an extremely pleasant stay overall. Now I have yet another reason to look forward to visiting Ryusenkaku! Thank you as always for such a wonderful time. I’ll be back again!

I stayed here with my 10 kg dog. In front of the lodge, there is a beautiful grassy lawn where we could enjoy a relaxing walk. The Room is simple, with no refrigerator, TV, or toilet. However, it was kept very clean and we were able to rest comfortably. Wi-Fi is available, so there’s no problem if you bring a tablet. This is not a Hotel with every amenity—it's a mountain lodge—so you need to understand that. For dinner, we enjoyed a BBQ on the outdoor terrace with friends. I was worried insects might come around, but it turned out to be an unnecessary concern. The BBQ portions were generous—almost too much for women. Since the meat pieces are large, it would be helpful if scissors could be provided. Next time, I’d like to try the French course meal. The bath was disappointing because of an issue with the Onsen supply piping, but the tub was spacious and relaxing. Above all, being able to travel with my dog made this trip truly enjoyable—thank you for giving us that opportunity. I would love to visit again m(_ _)m

The Facility may look old, but it has a pleasantly aged charm, and it is thoroughly cleaned, so it never feels dirty. The fireplace atmosphere is wonderful! The service was very courteous, and everyone greeted us with a smile, which felt great. When we contacted the front desk, they came to our Room right away—truly attentive. The meals were very generous and we couldn’t finish everything, but we also enjoyed the game meat. The bath was well cleaned, and the open-air bath was especially relaxing with a view of the night sky!

A serene Accommodation surrounded by rows of trees. With spacious hallways and a limited number of Rooms, we rarely encountered other guests and were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful stay.

We stayed here during Silver Week with our two children. The meals were delicious, and what impressed us most was the hospitality. It started from the moment we arrived. Even though we hadn’t contacted them about our arrival time, they waited in the rain in front of the Ryokan with umbrellas and welcomed us with warm smiles. Since a baseball team was also staying there, they kindly advised us on good times to use the bath, and they even adjusted our second night’s dinner to suit our children’s preferences. Our kids were able to relax as if they were at home, and we were completely satisfied. The sake we had at dinner was so good that my husband and I talked about buying it as a souvenir—and perhaps they overheard us, because they surprised us by giving us that sake as a parting gift. We were truly touched! When we visit Kanazawa again, we will definitely make a Reservation here!

The room was beautifully renovated and very comfortable.\nThe meals were excellent, just as we had hoped. Everything was carefully prepared, and the pacing of the course was great—we were very satisfied. It is well worth traveling to Komatsu.\nWe also enjoyed the Japanese-style breakfast.
