I was on a business trip to Sendai and had the day off beforehand, so I decided to visit Zao for the first time and happened to find this place by chance. It was wonderful. My husband was truly impressed by a sake called “14th Generation,” which he had never tried before. Not only that, but the person who explained the appeal of sake had incredible knowledge and also introduced us to many delicious sakes from different regions—I even took notes. That’s one of the joys of traveling. The room interior and hot spring were excellent as well, but I feel that meeting people is what really enriches a trip. This was exactly that kind of inn. I would love to visit again. We left early in the morning and may have caused some inconvenience—thank you very much.

I had a very comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay in a quiet setting. The meals were delicious, and the nightly mini concerts in the lobby were truly relaxing. As I was traveling solo, it wasn’t cheap, but the Facility and the quality of the cuisine more than justified it. If I had to mention one thing, the toilet paper in the Room was thin and a bit inconvenient to use. It was a wonderful and comfortable Hotel that will likely make me want to return again in summer.

It was an extremely satisfying trip. The hospitality was refined, courteous, and pleasantly well-balanced. In particular, the veteran staff member with sommelier credentials made exquisite selections of sake and wine, allowing us to truly enjoy lively meals and conversation. The plaster walls in the room created a comfortable atmosphere that felt soothing. We would definitely love to return again. Thank you very much.

I have stayed here many times. Among the Onsen in Zao, the water quality is excellent, and Tsuruya’s baths suit me perfectly. There are also four types of private baths, so you can relax and enjoy them at your own pace. The food is incredibly delicious—every meat dish is generous in portion size and so tasty that you’ll want to eat it again right away. This time I had the Zao beef steak; it was very tender and wonderful with a variety of flavors such as lemon butter and wasabi. I will definitely visit again. A Multiple Night Stay is also recommended.

Last year, I was impressed by the variety of Onsen and the fresh vegetables, so I stayed again this year. The Room we chose had a bedroom on the second floor and a wonderful layout. We were thrilled to spot a wild squirrel from the balcony, even if only for a short time. I heard the chef has changed, so the overall impact was slightly different, but everything was delicious, with fresh vegetables featured throughout the menu. The morning tomato juice was just as fresh as ever and outstanding. Not only is the Onsen excellent, but there is also a wide selection of drinks available, making this Accommodation more satisfying than any other Onsen Accommodation. It’s a bit far from Tokyo, but I would love to stay again to relax with superb Onsen and fresh vegetables.

A Room with an open-air bath, great views, and a wonderful atmosphere. We also appreciated being able to enjoy free drinks such as beer. Both dinner and breakfast were satisfying in both quantity and quality. The relaxed dining atmosphere was excellent! The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was also very pleasant.

I stayed here with the Zao Snow Monsters package in Shiroishi-Zao. The hot spring was excellent and very refreshing. The meals were very generous, and I ended up leaving a lot. I would like an option with smaller portions.

I stayed for one night starting October 8. As always, it was great value with excellent service. The bathroom also seemed to have been renovated and was clean and comfortable to use. Thank you very much for upgrading our room as well. I have recommended this place to my family and friends for some time, and it seems several of them have already stayed here.

A prior Review mentioned that there were many foreign staff, and it felt like most of the staff were non-Japanese. However, their Japanese was very good and the service was fine, so it didn’t bother me. Amenities are placed in the lobby and you take what you need yourself. They had plenty, including toner, makeup remover, shampoo, etc. You can drink coffee and tea for free at the cafe corner, which was a nice service. The meals were mainly Japanese cuisine and were delicious. Personally, I loved the stylish and cute small plates used for the dishes. The bath was pleasant too, but I felt there weren’t enough hair dryers. Especially for women who need more time to dry their hair, I ended up thinking I’d have to wait my turn… and that it might be faster to go back to my Room with wet hair and dry it there. The view from the Room was great and was the best part. The mountains and river looked beautiful—wonderful scenery.

Although the building feels a bit dated, the Hotel is kept very clean, and since it’s not ski season, it’s a great location for a quiet and relaxing stay. It was also nice to be able to see the city night view from the Room. The meals (not buffet-style) were served promptly by the staff at just the right timing, and there was more than I could finish. They also took photos for us, and the service was excellent. There are a few minor inconveniences (I won’t go into details), but personally I think it’s a good place. If you’re looking for every possible amenity in a Hotel, you can always choose to stay somewhere more expensive.

The building itself isn’t exactly new, and the room showed some noticeable signs of repairs… but I was truly able to spend a deeply relaxing time. The private open-air bath was wonderful and felt amazing, and the indoor bath was also bright and airy with large windows. But my favorite was actually the shared open-air bath. The water temperature was just right for a long, leisurely soak, and the scenery at night and in the morning felt completely different—both were truly captivating. I also used the foot acupressure massager that was set up after bathing, and it felt incredible! And above all, the meals! Both the meat and fish were delicious, and looking at the course as a whole, there wasn’t a single moment where I thought “I wish they had this too”—it was completely satisfying from start to finish. I couldn’t believe you can enjoy food of this quality with a course priced at just under 13,000 yen these days. Having dinner served in the room made it even better… And being able to place orders by smartphone was so convenient. Most of all, the smile of the staff member who brought everything to us—it genuinely soothed me. I could go on forever about what I loved… The welcome sweets on arrival were delicious, the coffee available throughout our stay was great… and then there’s the rooftop! I’ll never forget spending time on that quiet, open rooftop terrace. The futon bedding had a nice weight to it so I slept soundly—I’m beyond satisfied. It made me think: I definitely want to stay again. Oh—but next time I’ll choose a room with an en-suite toilet! Haha. Thank you very much for everything!

I stayed for two nights, and the best part was that drinks were free all the time with the all-inclusive plan. I didn’t go out anywhere and just enjoyed the Onsen and drinks, which was perfect.

All the staff were very pleasant, and their hospitality was outstanding—polite and kind at both check-in and check-out. The building itself may be old, but it is well maintained and felt very clean. The twin room with a kitchen was very spacious and seems ideal for a longer stay. However, the walls seem thin, so noise from the next room was noticeable. The large public bath was also spacious, well cleaned, and I was very satisfied. If I visit Togatta again, I would definitely like to stay here. Thank you very much!

The price was reasonable compared to others, and it was great that the Room had a private Onsen. However, there was an issue: the sewage smell was extremely strong, which was disappointing. The odor came up from under the bathroom doorway and from the sink, making me feel unwell, and that was very unfortunate. (Later, I received an email from the owner explaining the cause and apologizing, but I wish it had been checked and inspected before my stay.) Also, since this plan was No Meals Included, it would have been helpful to have aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and a measuring cup for the rice cooker. Because the Accommodation is located in the mountains, I recommend arriving during daylight hours. There is nothing around it, so it was very quiet. I would like to stay again.
