With a homely atmosphere and very kind staff, I had a truly comfortable stay. Every dish was delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The Facility was well cleaned and felt very fresh and spotless—an Accommodation where I could really relax. I also appreciated the warm hospitality from all the staff. I would definitely like to stay again next year!

The food was truly delicious! Not only dinner, but also the vegetables at breakfast were excellent. The restaurant where we enjoyed the welcome drink and the guests-only lounge were both very comfortable, and we had a wonderful time. The bath felt a little small, but it was clean and pleasant. We were impressed and would love to stay again.

Local buses run from Shuzenji Station, and the bus stop is right in front of the Accommodation, so it was easy to find. With only a few Rooms, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Because the number of guests is limited, the staff provided attentive service. The guest Rooms make great use of a traditional kura storehouse design while incorporating Japanese-style elements. The open-air bath itself was spacious and very satisfying. Even though it was an open and airy space, there was a roof for rain protection, so we could still enjoy it on a rainy day. The privacy screens were cleverly arranged—there was openness to the garden and sky, yet views from outside were well blocked, making for an interesting design. The amenities also felt natural-focused while still being high quality. The restaurant is in a renovated old traditional house that preserves its original character despite feeling new. There are also separate areas for a bakery and gelato. All three were delicious, which fully satisfied our desire to enjoy great food: the umami of shellfish at dinner, the aroma of mushrooms, autumn flavors like grilled cutlassfish with matsutake mushrooms and ginkgo nuts; plus wonderfully tasty eggs at breakfast—and even sashimi served with morning appetizers. Everything was carefully prepared. This is a comfortable Accommodation where you can enjoy both mountains and sea, making full use of Toi’s nature and culture.

I traveled with my elderly parents and my daughter. The hotel had very high ratings when I researched it beforehand, so we arrived with high expectations. It truly was an outstanding hotel that more than lived up to them. We were moved by the panoramic ocean view from our room. Everything was spotless and very clean. For dinner, we chose the seasonal kaiseki course; the restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere, and we enjoyed a relaxed evening savoring delicious dishes at our own pace. Each item was carefully prepared—beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious. My daughter and parents were especially impressed by the toro-taku. My parents are older and have weak teeth, but the wagyu steak was so tender that they could enjoy it without any trouble. They usually don’t eat much, yet they finished everything, which really surprised me. We used the large public bath, and the view from there was also incredible. The next morning, I woke up early with my parents and watched the sunrise from our room’s terrace; seeing how moved my father was made me feel deeply emotional as well. Breakfast was a buffet with Japanese and Western options plus a few Chinese dishes, so everyone could choose what they liked—we enjoyed it very much. The freshly made fluffy omelet and freshly squeezed orange juice were especially delicious. After check-out, the staff kindly assisted us all the way to the station, for which we are very grateful. I was able to give my parents a wonderful trip full of great memories. Thank you very much! We will definitely return again.

I was extremely satisfied with all the Facilities in the property. The all-inclusive plan and the amenities bar were both excellent. The meals were delicious, and they were served at just the right timing. I truly felt genuine hospitality from all the staff, and it was incredibly comfortable! I will definitely be back again.

If you’re craving delicious fish, this is highly recommended! You can enjoy truly tasty fish until you’re completely satisfied. Of course, the Room is also comfortable, and it’s a nice bonus to have a view of Mt. Fuji! The horse mackerel at breakfast was so good that I bought some to take home on the way back. This was my first trip to Hakone, and I stayed at this Hotel. The phone support and the front desk service were both very pleasant. For dinner, we chose the French cuisine; the portions were just right, and everything—from the dishes to the dessert—was delicious. For breakfast, we had a Japanese meal, and the dishes made with plenty of local ingredients made for a wonderful start to the day. On our way back, it was raining and I was traveling with my elderly mother, so I waited in the lobby until the last minute for our mountain bus—and ended up missing it. The staff noticed we were in trouble right away and suggested several alternative options, which allowed us to catch our flight home safely. Thanks to your outstanding hospitality in every respect, we had a truly enjoyable trip. The only disappointment this time was the weather, but I would love to come back and try again. I made a Reservation because this is an Accommodation where you can stay with pets, but I think it is wonderful even without a pet. There was none of the bustle you might find at a large Ryokan, and the Accommodation was located in a quiet villa area not far from Jogasaki Coast. As I wanted a Room where meals could be served in a private dining space, I stayed this time in the Room called “Akane.” This Room had an exceptionally spacious layout with a living area, dining area, and bedroom, and it was very comfortable to relax in. The staff were also gentle and kind, allowing us to spend a peaceful time together as a family. The food was so plentiful we could hardly finish it—a creative course meal that truly felt like an escape from everyday life—and everything was delicious and very satisfying. I also appreciated how carefully they confirmed any ingredients we do not like in advance, making this an Accommodation I would love to visit again. We were told the outdoor open-air bath uses water drawn from Atagawa’s hot spring source; the temperature was perfect, and I enjoyed it many times during our stay. Unfortunately, we did not have good weather during our visit, which was the only disappointment. I will come back for another try at enjoying the open-air bath while watching the sunrise. Next time, I would like to stay for two nights at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much.

Having stayed at retreat Hotels all over the whole country, I found this Retreat Onko Chishin to be outstanding in every way. The Room, bath, meals and drinks, and hospitality all delivered a high level of satisfaction, making for a truly pleasant stay. This Hotel has been reborn through the renovation of an existing Hotel, and the quality of the renovation and overall atmosphere were excellent.

Thank you for welcoming us with such warm hospitality! We booked a Room with an open-air bath, and it felt more open than we expected, which made us a bit nervous, so we used it early in the morning and at night when it seemed like no one would be around. I have wonderful memories of the Accommodation’s atmosphere and hospitality from my first stay, and this time I returned for the first time in seven years. I heard that during the COVID period you improved the parking area and the path to the Accommodation, and it was even easier to access than before. The atmosphere is still just as lovely, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I especially recommend the spiny lobster sashimi and the simmered golden eye snapper. This time, I also asked in advance for a birthday surprise for my friend, and you kindly accommodated my request.
