It was a truly relaxing stay from the bottom of my heart. I stayed here to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The attentive care and calm atmosphere that only a small-scale Accommodation can offer were incredibly comforting. Located along the river, time flowed quietly and gracefully, and I was able to soak in the Onsen at a leisurely pace. The Hida beef course dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, allowing me to fully savor the deliciousness of Hida beef. It was a highly satisfying dinner that left both my stomach and heart full. To all the staff who took care of me, thank you for your warm hospitality. This is a hideaway-like Accommodation perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy a high-quality Onsen and meals in a शांत setting.

I stayed with my husband and 4-year-old son as a family of three in August. The exterior feels a bit old, but the room and the hotel were clean, and the food, service, and onsen were excellent. We had a very comfortable stay with our son. This is definitely a hotel we want to stay at again!

It was a charming Accommodation full of character. From the moment we stepped inside, it had a comforting atmosphere. The staff responded to our questions thoroughly, so we were able to spend the night feeling at ease. Breakfast was plentiful, but delicious, and we finished it all.

The building itself felt a bit old, and I noticed a slight odor inside, but the Onsen and seafood were truly outstanding. Since the large public bath alternates between men and women, I only used one side, but it was spacious and comfortable. The water left my skin smooth and moisturized—it felt amazing. There wasn’t a place inside the tub to sit (with about half your body out), so I couldn’t soak for too long, but the open-air bath had a great atmosphere and I could relax without worrying about others. Our Room came with a private open-air bath, and the tub was even larger than it looked in the photos—there was plenty of space for two people to stretch out comfortably. It might even fit around three people with ease. Best of all, it was free-flowing natural hot spring water, so fresh water kept pouring in continuously—it felt wonderfully luxurious and incredibly relaxing. The crab I’d been looking forward to was also delicious—I think it was my first time ever getting completely full from crab. I was very satisfied with the sashimi and the salmon at breakfast as well. Of course, the steak was also very juicy and tender... That said, it seems rice and miso soup at dinner were brought after we asked for them (I’m sorry—I must not have listened carefully because I was captivated by the beautiful crab right in front of me). By the time they arrived I was already quite full, so I wished I had requested them earlier. There were thoughtful touches throughout as well—like a footbath inside the property and self-serve coffee in the morning. Everyone at both the dining area and front desk greeted us with smiles and were very kind, so we felt comfortable throughout our stay; it ended up being a truly refreshing trip that helped us unwind. I would definitely like to stay again.

I stayed with the No Meals Included plan. As it was the off-season, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price. The building is old, but it has been nicely renovated. Since it was a discounted Room, I could hear some plumbing noise, but if you just want to enjoy the Onsen and sleep, this Accommodation is more than satisfactory.

We stayed as a group. The banquet hall and meals were delicious, and the Onsen was relaxing—overall a comfortable Accommodation. Surrounded by greenery in a quiet setting, we would like to stay here again when visiting Nikko.

A unique accommodation where you can enjoy a campfire. The Tenger Stay offers an extraordinary experience, perfect for escaping the ordinary. We recommend renting traditional Mongolian attire for an added touch. The meals exceeded expectations and were very delicious. At night, you can enjoy a short horsehead fiddle performance (about 30 minutes). The bath is a large public bath, and the Onsen's quality left the skin feeling moisturized. Basic skincare products from Sekkisei are available here. Please note that there is no toilet in the room, and it requires a short walk, which might be inconvenient for those who need frequent access. However, hygiene was not an issue. Sandals are provided in the Ger, so there's no need to wear shoes inside. The staff were all very friendly and provided excellent hospitality. I would love to visit again in a different season.

We stayed here for a family trip during Silver Week. The adults relaxed with the bedrock bath and the Onsen, while our daughter watched YouTube on the projector. She was very happy and said she wants to stay here again. Since we booked without meals, we used the tabletop IH stove in the Accommodation to make hot pot. It became a wonderful memory.

I visit Sugadaira every summer, so I check early, but I can never get a Reservation. This time I happened to get one, so it was my first stay. The area around the Hotel is very quiet, and the view from the Room is wonderful. After soaking in the Onsen, my skin stayed moisturized for a while. Everyone—the front desk staff and restaurant staff—was very pleasant and welcoming, and I had a truly enjoyable time. The buffet made great use of fresh vegetables and was thoughtfully prepared rather than relying on cheap pre-made sauces. It was delicious. Since it’s so hard to secure an Accommodation Reservation here, I’d come just for the meal alone. There were also many thoughtful touches: a sheet listing the names of the mountains visible from the Room window, places to hang clothes throughout the Room (probably for winter ski wear), a towel for wiping around the washbasin, and a cube-shaped power strip with five outlets. It’s a Hotel with great attention to detail. If I can get another Reservation, I would definitely like to stay again.

There were no excessive services, but all the essential ones were well provided. In the spacious community zone, there were servers not only for tea and coffee but also for beer, and I was very satisfied that I could enjoy a casual drink. There was also ice cream available in the post-bath area. I also thought it was great that there is a Room where families with children can play. Meals are buffet-style, and everything was delicious. The rock bath is worth seeing at least once—it's wild!

You can reach Nasu leisure spots such as Kinomata Gorge and Senbonmatsu Ranch in 20–60 minutes. The meals were delicious, and since it’s all-inclusive, we really appreciated being able to enjoy as many drinks and snacks as we wanted. Rooms on the 3rd floor feature free-flowing hot spring water directly from the source. It also leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth. The dinner menu had changed since our previous stay, and it actually felt like both the seasoning and ingredients had improved compared to last time. The portions were generous, and we were very satisfied. They also run a night bar (?), and we were told children are welcome, so our kids stopped by for a special summer vacation late night—and they looked so happy, as if they’d joined the adults’ club. Since it’s rare to find an Accommodation where six people can stay with an in-room bath supplied with free-flowing hot spring water directly from the source, we would love to stay again. We had a fun and comfortable time. Thank you very much.

We stayed for two nights during Silver Week 2026. We were very satisfied with the location, Facility, and meals, and gave 5 points to every category except hospitality and service. In particular, the Silver Week–limited “Grill Dining” at the in-Hotel restaurant “Ibuki” was excellent. We enjoyed not only the two grilled dishes but also the semi-buffet options. We also had wine and were able to relax and enjoy dinner as a family. We also joined the nighttime Galaxy Ropeway event. Unfortunately, it was cloudy so we couldn’t see any stars, but they made thoughtful efforts—such as spending time on the lawn and listening to a projector-based explanation of the night sky—so we still enjoyed it to some extent even without visible stars. On the other hand, we were disappointed with Room cleaning on our second night. After going out in the morning following our first night, we returned to the Hotel around 6:00 p.m. and found that our Room had not been cleaned; used towels and other items were left as they were. Since we had a Reservation at “Ibuki” from 7:00 p.m., we contacted the front desk and asked them to take care of it while we were at dinner. Later, before 7:00 p.m., fresh towels and yukata were delivered to our Room, but ultimately no cleaning was done. The response also felt rather procedural, and we did not feel there was sufficient explanation or apology regarding why cleaning had been missed. I understand that missed cleaning can happen due to miscommunication; however, including how it was handled afterward, I rated hospitality/service as 2 points this time. Because everything else—such as dining and facilities—was highly satisfying, this was particularly disappointing. I hope this will be improved in the future.

First of all, the location is great. The all-inclusive plan is excellent. The Room was clean and had an open-air bath, a washing machine, a mini kitchen, and a microwave.

The building is old, but the Room is spacious and clean. The bath facilities were great, especially the barrel sauna. There was also a barrel sauna by the pool, so we could enjoy using the pool as a cold plunge. Meals are buffet-style, tasty, and with a wide variety of dishes. The rates are reasonably affordable, giving the impression of a well-balanced Resort Hotel. If possible, I would like the pool hours to be extended a bit longer.

The hot spring water was wonderfully silky. The bath area was clean and spacious, and from the open-air bath we could see a sky full of stars—I could have stayed in forever. We only had breakfast, but it was delicious and very filling. I think this is a lovely Accommodation where you can relax and feel at ease.

The Facility was clean, the meals were delicious, and the attentive little touches in service made it a truly wonderful experience. The price was so reasonable that I almost felt bad about it. Since the Onsen is sulfur-based, you may want to remove rings and other jewelry. I understand you were affected by the 2024 heavy rain disaster, and I’m wishing you all the best.

I made an Accommodation Reservation to visit the permanent exhibitions of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. I chose this place because I thought it would surely be fully booked around the time of next year’s event, and I wanted to stay here before then. On the way there, I used the Shuttle Service bus. Since it’s quite a distance from the station to the Accommodation, using it was definitely the right choice. After arriving, I was able to relax with a welcome drink and sweets while enjoying the view outside, and spent a very peaceful time. The bath is small, but soaking while watching the sky darken and looking out over the forest was wonderful. Dinner featured shabu-shabu as the main dish. The rice was delicious in a way that really reminded me this is Niigata, and there was also a great selection of sake and wine. I enjoyed my meal while taking in the slowly fading scenery. It seemed like all of the other guests staying there looked happy as well. The items provided in my Room were minimal—nothing unnecessary—and I actually appreciated that. (I forgot to bring makeup remover, but they had Sekkisei amenities, which really helped! I use it regularly too, so that made me even happier.) One request: I would have liked a small step stool near the washer & dryer area. Since I’m not very tall, I couldn’t reach far enough into the dryer. Breakfast looked and tasted exactly like what you’d call “a Japanese breakfast,” and I was very satisfied. Thank you very much.

For vacations of two days or more, I choose a vacation rental rather than a Hotel or an Onsen Ryokan. From my experience with several rentals, prices and the quality of Facility management vary widely depending on the operator. This property is well maintained with no musty smell inside, towels can be replaced if you go to the management office yourself, the price is reasonable, and the area is quiet—I'd happily stay here again.

We stayed at this Ryokan for my parents’ therapeutic hot-spring retreat. It’s a Ryokan that’s difficult to reach without a car, but it had a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were especially kind, and we truly enjoyed our stay. My elderly parents were delighted with the nostalgic Japanese-style room. There are many stairs inside the Accommodation, and my father, whose legs have started to weaken, had a bit of difficulty walking around the building. We had breakfast, and it was delicious Japanese food that left us completely full.

Thank you for taking care of me on this touring trip! I really appreciated being allowed to park my motorcycle under the eaves by the entrance. The staff included many young women from overseas, and everyone served us politely with constant smiles, so I was able to fully enjoy a satisfying Onsen Accommodation—thank you very much. Next time, I’d like to visit with my wife and daughters as a family, and I look forward to seeing you then. If I may make one request: I had a beer in the floor area next to the front desk, but I was disappointed that the glass was at room temperature (it was a hot day, so it felt lukewarm). I would be grateful if you could consider this. Thank you again for such an enjoyable stay at your Onsen Accommodation. This middle-aged rider will definitely be back!
