During my four-night trip to Hokkaido, this was the most satisfying of the four places I stayed. I booked the Canyon Suite. Since it was called a suite but wasn’t particularly expensive, I didn’t expect much—but I was amazed as soon as I walked in. First, the beautiful gorge view through the large windows. Then, the spacious room and tasteful furnishings. I immediately regretted staying only one night. The food was also excellent: it’s buffet-style, but every dish had a thoughtful twist, and the quality stood out far above other hotels. The staff weren’t “polished hotel professionals” so much as genuinely warm and kind, which made me feel very comfortable. It’s a place I truly want to return to for the first time in a while.

We stayed at Chalet Ivy Jozankei for our honeymoon. When we arrived, we were a little surprised by the steep downhill slope, but a staff member quickly came over and helped carry our luggage, which was a huge help. The mango tea served at check-in was delicious, and we felt warmly welcomed. All of the staff were kind and attentive, and together with the calm atmosphere throughout the Hotel, it made for a truly relaxing stay both physically and mentally. The lounge had a wonderful view, and since it was relatively quiet, we were able to enjoy window seats many times. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and very satisfying. We used the bath in our Room about four or five times, and the public bath was often quiet as well, so we could take our time enjoying a relaxing soak on our own. Even after check-out, they drove us to the bus stop, and we were impressed by their thoughtful service down to every detail. Thanks to the heartfelt hospitality of the staff and the comfortable Facility environment, it was an exceptionally fulfilling stay. We would love to stay again.

This was our sixth stay, and every time we have enjoyed a fun and comfortable visit. All three private open-air (and semi-open-air) baths are available to use as often as you like. Both dinner and breakfast are generous in portion size, perfectly seasoned, and always leave us completely satisfied.

Because it is located a little away from Yubatake, we were able to spend a very quiet and relaxing time. The interior has a refined, design-forward atmosphere, yet since the building was originally a cottage and has been renovated, it also feels wonderfully cozy with the warmth and scent of wood. The guest-room bath with free-flowing Onsen water direct from the source was a bit hot at first, but once we got used to it, it felt amazing and allowed us to fully enjoy Kusatsu’s Onsen. After bathing, we felt warmed through to the core and our skin felt pleasantly moisturized. Even the amenities such as lotion were high quality, and we could sense attention to detail throughout. Both dinner and breakfast were truly outstanding, and each dish reflected great care in ingredient selection. The vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, and Joshu beef grilled over a wood fire had an especially fragrant savoriness that left a strong impression. The octopus rice at dinner and the white rice cooked in an earthenware pot at breakfast were also exceptional—perfect with grated yam and bonito flakes. It was a meal where you could really appreciate how delicious the rice itself is. We are not very knowledgeable about wine or sake, but there was an impressive selection, and the well-informed master recommended options tailored to our preferences—making this Accommodation particularly appealing for those who love drinks. Some past Reviews included harsh comments, but after staying ourselves, we could clearly see sincere efforts to improve; it felt like this Accommodation continues to evolve into something even better. Even understatedly put, it was an exceptional stay. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Facility offerings, Onsen baths, cuisine, and hospitality. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that we would absolutely want to stay again when visiting Kusatsu.

Even after setting the navigation system, the destination disappeared along the way. Feeling a bit uneasy, we followed the signboards and drove deeper into the mountains on narrow roads—then suddenly, there was the Accommodation entrance. The warm light that appeared in that moment was a real relief. The staff’s welcome and service were also very courteous. We headed straight to the private indoor bath in our Room. Just as I was about to soak in the retro-style tub that felt like an old hot-spring cure retreat, a large hornet—stuck and unable to get out through the window—greeted us first. We somehow dealt with it using the free-flowing natural hot spring water (quite hot). Once adjusted to just the right temperature, it felt amazing on the skin and was incredibly relaxing. When my wife took her turn, this time a rhinoceros beetle stopped by to say hello. Just as explained in advance by the Accommodation, we had a rare experience surrounded by rich nature. From the scenic open-air bath, we enjoyed views of mountains stretching out as if they were ours alone. The meals were also carefully prepared. We were able to spend a truly unhurried time here. The meals, the Onsen, and the service—everything was absolutely satisfying!! The lounge and the puzzle-solving activities were also very enjoyable. I would love to visit again. Although I had mistakenly made a Reservation for a smoking room, I truly appreciated how quickly you accommodated my request to change it. Thank you very much for all your help. Thank you.

I was very satisfied with the Hotel’s Facility, the staff service, and the dining options. In particular, the daily replenishment of drinks in the guest room, the spacious and comfortable large public bath, and the fireworks viewing area were excellent. However, the price was a little high. The only drawback was that the parking lot was a bit far away. I would definitely like to stay here again next time.

Since my injury, we’ve been celebrating our birthdays here in a Room with an open-air bath. I love Onsen, but I was afraid to use large baths and had given up. Then, as a birthday gift for my husband, we came here, and using the bath in our Room helped me regain my confidence—so it has become our regular Accommodation ever since. It’s wonderful.

We stayed in the urara twin Room during our Obon trip. The ohagi served in the lounge was outstanding! There was a great variety of drinks, and it made us want to come back again and again. In addition to alcohol, we were also happy that we could make an Oropo after the sauna. For dinner, when we mentioned that we wanted to go to Natsu Akari Road after the meal, they served everything quickly, which was a big help. Everything was delicious, but the sashimi platter left the strongest impression. We would love to stay with you again next year. We’re already looking forward to it.

Since my first stay around 2019, this has been my number one “Accommodation I want to return to.” Sometimes revisiting a wonderful Accommodation can be a little disappointing, but this time there was nothing like that at all—I was completely satisfied with every aspect of the stay once again. The Room had a natural interior with the warmth of wood and felt very comfortable, and the lobby was also a relaxing space surrounded by greenery. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like an escape from everyday life. Above all, the dining was outstanding. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the presentation and overall experience made it exciting—wondering what would come next was part of the fun. Even my partner, who doesn’t often say “delicious,” was genuinely impressed by the meat dish. Along with the meat’s natural sweetness and rich flavor, the pairing with the sauce was excellent—we were still talking on our way home about how truly delicious it was. It didn’t just meet expectations; it reminded me all over again how special this Accommodation is. We would love to visit again.

We stayed for one night. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and generously portioned, so we were very satisfied. The hot spring bath was also fed directly from the source, and it warmed us through to the core.

We stayed in a double Room for two. The Room was a bit small, but it was clean. The large public bath was smaller than expected, but it wasn’t too crowded, and there was also an open-air bath, so it was comfortable. We were surprised by the ice cream and probiotic drink after the bath—it was a nice service. We would like to stay again if we have the chance.

Everything was outstanding!! Nothing to complain about!! We will definitely stay again!! On the way home, we were already discussing when to make our next Reservation. The food in particular was truly delicious and wonderful.

The necessary amenities were prepared in the room, which was reassuring. The location, twin room, service, Onsen, and breakfast were all comfortable at this Hotel. During our 4-night trip to Eastern Hokkaido, this was the most comfortable stay.

I stayed here with my sisters and mother for a family trip. The interior was beautiful and luxurious, exactly as shown in the photos—we were amazed! The sauna and open-air bath were spotless, and we enjoyed them again and again. We had fun making marshmallows, baked apples, and roasted sweet potatoes at the fire pit, then did a BBQ on the indoor grill. There’s a large supermarket nearby with everything you need, so it’s easy to come empty-handed. The beds were incredibly comfortable too. Our first glamping experience was a huge success—we’ll definitely be back!!

I was supposed to bring the Room towels to the Onsen, but a staff member who happened to be checking the water kindly brought me towels, so I could relax in the hot water and feel refreshed. The dinner was also delicious.

The staff, including international team members, were friendly and great. They were great both in the lobby and at the dining venue. It was a wonderful Accommodation with a calm atmosphere—exactly what you’d hope for. The slightly no-frills service actually made it feel more relaxed and comfortable. If I had to mention just one thing, I think it would be better to replace the mirrors in the large public bath.

I referred to the Reviews. I’m often disappointed, but this time it was a great choice. I knew from the Reviews that the Facility is a bit dated, so I was satisfied.

It is a wonderful Accommodation where you can truly relax. We would love to visit again if we have the chance. It was our first time staying in Nasu, and it became a lovely memory for us. In particular, the male attendant’s lighthearted talk at dinner made everyone smile and created a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you very much. The free-flowing Onsen water pours vigorously from the wall into the indoor bath, and in the open-air bath it cascades like a waterfall from the rocks—something Onsen lovers will truly appreciate. This was my father’s favorite place, and he was very happy. The meals were delicious and just the right amount. On the way to the large public bath, it was fun to see carp gathering where the spring water flows and bathing under it like a waterfall shower. The Room felt refreshingly cool with lush green trees outside. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
