We were able to stay as a family of three in the grass-roof cottage we’d been eyeing on Instagram. At the end of a slope winding through the trees, the cottage came into view, and our child was thrilled. The open-plan living room has large windows with soothing greenery stretching out before you. Our child ran up to the second-floor bedroom, dove onto the comfy bed, and excitedly declared, “I’m sleeping here tonight!” There were three bedrooms, each with two beds. When we went for a walk around the garden, countless flowers were in bloom and it felt like a small village surrounding a pond. There’s a Baby Troll house and a Yoshibo house, and you can even go inside. The stamp rally is fun too—collect all six stamps in the garden while checking the map, reach the goal, and you get a reward! At the back of the garden there’s also a wooden deck where you can relax at your leisure. Enjoy coffee slowly—or like me, unwind with a beer while taking in the view. While we adults took it easy, our child had little adventures around the pond—chasing dragonflies and butterflies, spotting fish in the water, even trying to catch frogs—and looked like they were having an amazing time. In the evening: BBQ! This time we brought our own ingredients and borrowed the BBQ set on the terrace. My wife and child were both delighted. At night, the garden illuminations were beautiful—and there was even a large glowing tree! If it’s this stunning in summer, winter must be even more magical. I can’t help imagining it becoming a romantic spot for couples on winter nights… just my own daydream (laughs). The next morning, we used our stay perk ticket to buy bread at Kanel Bread across from us and enjoyed breakfast on the garden terrace—such an indulgent moment! Inside this Accommodation there’s a kitchen where you can cook. It had that coveted BALMUDA toaster and kettle; plus tableware from Arabia—irresistible for anyone who loves Scandinavian style. Even small touches made us happy: Sekkisei amenities and a ReFa hair dryer—each detail was exciting. When we went to reception for check-out, we couldn’t take our eyes off all of souvenirs—we wanted everything as keepsakes. Our child chose a dwarf piggy bank. Everyone on staff was kind and thoughtful as well; thanks to them we could truly relax and enjoy some luxurious downtime without any worries. We heard that grass roofs change their look with each season: green from spring through summer, brown in autumn, then pure white when snow falls. We’d love to come back again in another season.

We stayed here with our baby (6 months old). Tucked away in a quiet forest, the Accommodation was filled with the warmth of wood from the moment we stepped inside, and everything was spotless, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The tatami-style Japanese room accessible by ladder was also great, and there was enough space to sleep with our child even on the large bed, which really helped. In addition, there were plenty of towels and both a washer and dryer, making it very convenient for families with children. It’s an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

Because it’s a whole-house rental, you can truly relax without worrying about other people. Although the exterior is that of an old traditional house, it has been renovated in a way that preserves the atmosphere, and it was very comfortable. The Rooms are spacious as well. There are two Japanese-style Rooms and one bedroom, so even with three of us staying, we had more than enough space. There are also two toilets, so I don’t think it would be an issue even if the maximum of eight guests stayed. The bath is large too—big enough for four adults to soak in the tub at once. However, it takes about two hours to fill with hot water, and if you run hot water for more than an hour straight, the water heater may stop due to an error. So you need to turn off the tap once before an hour is up and then start it again—an extra step that’s a bit inconvenient. The water has a slightly sulfur-like smell and feels slippery, so drinking it or washing your hands with it can feel a little odd, but as bathwater it feels like a true Onsen experience and was amazing. (I wanted to soak again in the morning but gave up because there wasn’t enough time to fill the tub.) The kitchen is spacious and seemed well equipped with cooking tools, so we cooked our own dinner. However, the provided knife was extremely dull—it couldn’t even cut fish or a baguette... If you plan to cook, I recommend bringing your own knife. (Or I’d really appreciate it if a sharper knife could be provided.) Perhaps because they filled in what used to be an earthen-floor area? The counter height is very low. I’m about 155 cm tall, and kneeling while working felt like just the right height. It might be better suited for outdoor BBQs with light prep or meals that don’t require much cutting. There are bugs. Plenty of mosquito coils and insect spray are provided—do your best and fight them off. Watching the sky from the hammock before sunset, then enjoying handheld fireworks at night— even though we only stayed one night (two days), time felt slow and relaxing, like we’d spent much longer there. A lot depends on guests’ common sense when using the place, but overall this Accommodation offers quite a bit of freedom. This time we were on what you’d call a girls’ trip, and it was refreshing to discover there was such an option in this northern area of the prefecture. I highly recommend this whole-house traditional home not only for families or groups but also for smaller parties. I’d love to come back again if I have another chance.

Stayed for 3 nights with friends. The location is excellent, being close to Fukue city center. The accommodation faces a bay, providing easy access to the sea; however, due to significant tidal differences and occasional odors, we refrained from entering the water. The facility was well-equipped with user-friendly appliances, as well as detergents and seasonings provided. We were also able to enjoy stargazing at night, making it a very satisfying stay.

We stayed as a family, and what we loved most was the completely private space that comes with renting an entire house—so we could relax without worrying about anyone around us. The location at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Lake Yamanaka was also very appealing, and we truly enjoyed a luxurious time surrounded by nature. The spacious living room and well-equipped kitchen made it easy to unwind as if we were at home, and the seasonal scenery outside the windows was incredibly soothing. We took our time enjoying the fresh air in the large garden and greenery, and had fun cooking for ourselves in the kitchen—it really felt like staying at a vacation home. The freedom to wake up, eat, and spend our days on our own schedule was perfect for a family trip. It was also impressive how innovative the system was that allowed us to check in and check out smoothly without meeting staff in person. The bedding was comfortable and we slept very well, and it was reassuring that insect-repellent items were thoroughly provided. There were fewer insects than expected, which made our stay even more comfortable. It’s also conveniently located as a base for sightseeing around Lake Yamanaka, and it was a wonderful Accommodation where you can enjoy the special feel of an upscale private villa rental. We’d love to stay again and highly recommend it.

We spent New Year's with our family while enjoying the snowy scenery. Although there was less snowfall, the children had a great time building snowmen and climbing the treehouse. The meals were delightful, thanks to the very kind guidance from the concierge beforehand. We purchased local ingredients from Hida Takayama at a supermarket along the way and enjoyed sukiyaki with Hida beef, cheese, butter, and other dairy products. The kitchen utensils and seasonings were well-stocked, so all we needed to do was buy ingredients. Highly recommended for those who love cooking! Despite it being a season when outdoor baths are usually unavailable due to low temperatures, one was kindly prepared for us. The caretaker also provided very friendly assistance throughout our stay. It was a memorable year-end getaway where we could enjoy quality family time in a snowy wonderland away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This is an accommodation we would love to visit again—highly recommended! Thank you very much!

It was our first visit, and it turned into an even better weekend than we expected. After making the Reservation, we were happy to receive an email with recommendations for stylish spots nearby. It saved us the trouble of researching on our own and gave us peace of mind. They also share what to bring and other helpful details, so checking your email is a must. We had lunch at a galette restaurant on the way from the station to the Accommodation, then did some shopping and, after check-in, spent the whole time at the Accommodation. Check-in seems to be controlled by an automatic lock system, so you can’t enter until check-in time. (We arrived about 15 minutes early, so we waited in the car for a bit before checking in.) Sauna → taking our time cooking dinner → staying up late with wine. The next morning: sauna right after waking up, brunch, and coffee. We relaxed as if we were at home while enjoying a truly luxurious stay. The sauna was spacious and got properly hot, and the cold plunge was icy—incredible. (It snowed that day, so I think it may have been close to single digits in °C...) In the Room there were high-quality seasonings and natural wines available for an additional fee. We had no trouble cooking meals there, but if you want to make more elaborate dishes using lots of spices or herbs, bringing those along would make it perfect. Lastly, winter driving conditions made us a little nervous. There was snow buildup and black ice on the road in front of the Accommodation, so please be careful as it can be slippery. In winter, studless tires are a must—and having chains would give extra peace of mind. It feels like a place you could enjoy in any season—we’d love to come back in spring, summer, and autumn too!

The facility was satisfactory. However, there were too many insects around the pool, in the water, and in the room, which was unfortunate but understandable. I would like to use it again if I have another opportunity.

It was my first time staying with Sanu, and I’d love to come back again. As soon as we arrived, the scent of wood greeted us, and the Room was clean and comfortable. We were able to relax with our dog on the raised platform area. Also, because meals weren’t provided, we could visit our favorite bakeries for breakfast, and choose between cooking dinner ourselves or eating out—so it felt like living there while still being able to refresh. It was a shame that the bathroom was small and there wasn’t space to put things in the washroom area, but otherwise we were very satisfied.

We stayed during the Obon holiday with six family members and one small dog. First, we were able to complete both check-in and check-out without meeting anyone, and the villa felt very private, so we had a very comfortable stay. The Facility was new and clean, with well-equipped amenities and supplies. In particular, the indoor bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water was wonderful, and both the Onsen and the outdoor scenery were beautiful. The children had a great time playing in the private outdoor pool. Since it was cold, we added a little hot water, but we were surprised to find that it was also Onsen water. If I may make one request, it would have been helpful to have a washing machine. Also, perhaps because it is a new Facility, the towels were almost brand-new, and fine towel fibers stuck to our faces and bodies, which made them uncomfortable to use. However, the Facility was so excellent that our whole family was extremely satisfied. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a family of five. The children were very satisfied, and we had a great time. The space was spacious and open, making it very comfortable. We hope for an improvement such as a roof or cover for rainy weather so we can enjoy barbecues regardless of the weather. We would like to stay again if we have the opportunity.

I’ve visited Karuizawa many times, but this was my first stay here. Although it faces a main road, we weren’t bothered by traffic noise, and the Facility was clean, so we were able to relax completely. Our dog was smiling the whole time! The only thing I noticed was that the small window near the kitchen didn’t have any curtains or similar covering—blinds would be nice. The location is great as well, so I’d love to stay again!

The views were great, the room was clean, and the Facilities were well equipped—overall, it was excellent. The village chief’s hospitality was also wonderful. It was a shame that Mt. Fuji was hidden, but we would love to stay again.

The Room was very clean. However, the heating was not very effective, and it took time for the Room to warm up. The basement bedroom had no heating at all.

Our first four-generation trip was so enjoyable and comfortable that we returned for the first time in three years. The lush natural scenery through the large windows is wonderful, and opening the windows in the morning to feel the refreshing highland breeze helps us recharge every time. The children were completely absorbed in playing with the toys in the kids’ Room. The living room, bedroom, and each Room were all kept very clean, and with high-quality cooking appliances, cookware, and nearly all amenities provided, we could stay in great comfort. Above all, the owners are such a lovely couple that our trip becomes an even more special memory. We would love to stay again next year.

Thank you for kindly accommodating our last-minute Reservation just two days in advance! The kids had an amazing time. We’ve stayed at several pool villas, and this was the best by far. We’d definitely love to stay again.

We stayed for one night as a family of five. From the beginning, the staff provided courteous service when we informed them about our late check-in. After purchasing ingredients, we enjoyed a barbecue upon arrival, and they even helped us (almost entirely) with lighting the charcoal. We were given freshly picked vegetables from that morning, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. When we ran out of ice and planned to buy more, they quickly went out of their way to get it for us. The facility was stylish and exceptional, with cleanliness maintained to perfection. From arrival to check-out, their attentive service and hospitality left us deeply impressed—undoubtedly the best accommodation we've ever stayed at! Above all, the warmth and kindness of the staff stood out most. I can confidently recommend this place to others!

The stairs from the parking lot to the building were quite numerous, and with all our luggage, it was challenging to carry everything in one trip. However, the breathtaking view in front of the building made up for it. Although there were no curtains and the west sun shone through, waking up to such a stunning view and witnessing the beauty of the sunset was an unforgettable experience unique to this place. We enjoyed using the BBQ facilities on both nights of our stay. Bugs were not much of an issue, and we had a delightful dinner outdoors. The sheets and duvet covers were very clean with a linen-like texture that felt wonderful against our skin. Although there were no curtains allowing sunlight to stream in, the air conditioning worked perfectly, keeping us comfortable throughout our stay. We also appreciated that eco-friendly products like detergent and shampoo were provided. We would love to visit again! It was truly a memorable stay.
