Rated 4 stars because, although the Onsen is nice, it requires reheating and you need to be mindful of making minimal noise when pouring water. The parking is free but can be hard to locate for first-timers, and there’s some distance to carry luggage. However, the owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the Room felt cozy like being at home, which made the stay enjoyable.

While planning a trip to Wakayama, I was drawn to a cute log house Stays and decided to book it. The log house, the surrounding greenery, the location with a view of the sea, and the many knick-knacks from around the log house to the interior, everything is fun and exciting to look at. Above all, the owner's bright personality and cute smile are the best. At night, the most memorable moment was chatting with the owner at a dimly lit bar-style counter with jazz playing, while enjoying a handmade plum juice welcome drink. In the morning, breakfast on the terrace with a view of the sea. With tourist spots like Senjojiki, Onsen, and Shirarahama nearby, it turned out to be a wonderful trip to Wakayama. Thank you very much!

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve stuck to buffet-only meals and just picked what I like, but this time we had a traditional Ryokan dinner. It was wonderful. I used to think kaiseki often includes many dishes you could do without, but everything was delicious. The Room was exactly what you’d expect for the price, and it was kept very clean. Best of all were the Onsen baths available 24 hours a day and the staff’s hospitality. Their thoughtful attention goes above and beyond in every detail and makes you feel truly comfortable. My wife isn’t fond of large public baths, but she loved being able to use the bath at any time during our stay (with a maximum of 12 Rooms), so she went many times when she thought she could have it to herself and was very satisfied. We were also extremely pleased with the staff’s considerate service throughout our stay.

The proprietress and all the staff were kind, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with satisfying portions. The abalone at dinner and the dried fish at breakfast were especially tasty! Unfortunately, we didn’t use the private bath this time because it felt like too much of a hassle to go there, but the in-room bath was more than enough. If I had to mention one thing, I wanted to go for an early-morning walk to fully enjoy wonderful Matsuzaki Town, but the doors were locked for security so I couldn’t go out. I also understand that having staff on duty from early morning may not be practical, and every Accommodation has its own style, so that’s completely fine. It’s truly a wonderful setting, and I’d love to stay again.

Kurokawa Onsen is quite expensive due to inbound tourism, so if you're just looking for a place to sleep, this property should suffice. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the onsen by going on an onsen tour. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep, but it's manageable if you have little luggage. If you borrow the bath, it seems to be shower-only, so I highly recommend the Kurokawa Onsen tour. Also, the onsen recommended by the owner was great! The owner's personality was as good as other reviews have mentioned. I didn't use the bath at the stays, so I can't evaluate it.

On our first trip to Shimane in a long time, we stayed with our family of five plus our dog. Since we needed a private traditional house because of the dog, we didn’t expect too much—but it had a wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and there was also a public hot spring nearby. Both our family and our dog were very satisfied. It’s not easy for us to visit from Fukui, but it’s an Accommodation we’d love to return to. We made some great memories!

My son has just gotten his driver’s license and says he’ll take me to an Onsen area in Hokkaido. We set off from the Sapporo suburbs in an old kei car he recently bought, crossed Nakayama Pass, headed south along the coastline, and arrived in Hakodate. As I wondered what kind of Hotel it would be, we pulled up to a place with a distinctly Showa-era feel. He said he looked for a Hotel he could afford on his part-time wages. It’s not stylish by any stretch, but it carried that good old atmosphere I remember from about 40 years ago when my parents took me traveling. Come to think of it, lately I’ve only stayed at sleek, tidy foreign-owned Hotels—and even when I went to rest, I often couldn’t truly unwind. This place was wonderful in the best way: no need to put on airs. The moment you arrive you can just go “Ahh…” and flop onto the futon. The small public bath that claims “carefully selected free-flowing hot spring water” was rarely shared with other guests, and the water had a curious quality that made me want to soak forever. Even after returning to my Room, I stayed pleasantly warm for quite a while. Since we were in Hakodate, we wanted Hasesto’s yakitori bento—so it was great that it’s within walking distance for both dinner and a late-night bite. And that Hasesto is open 24 hours. There’s also a 7-Eleven even closer along the way, so there was no inconvenience at all. When we went out and when we came back, the front desk staff greeted us warmly and politely with smiles. It felt like remembering something I’d forgotten. The Room’s bath and toilet aren’t spacious, and the TV isn’t large either. But as my son and I sat together on the tatami floor talking about old times while watching baseball on that small TV, scenes from a trip 40 years ago—my father now much older than he was then—and little me suddenly came back as if revived. I can’t help hoping that one day my son will come here again with his own children. Before that happens, though, I’d like to bring my wife here soon.

It was a beautiful accommodation! Amenities were well-equipped, including a hairdryer, hair iron, and toothbrush. You can rent a yukata, furoshiki, and geta for 1000 yen, with plenty of options to choose from, making it enjoyable. They also offer luggage storage after check-out, which made sightseeing afterward very convenient. The owner was polite and seemed to enjoy chatting, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. It’s an accommodation I’d love to stay at again!

A pet-friendly accommodation where you can stay with your beloved dog. This historic accommodation, now in its 6th generation, has an old building that gets so cold in winter that you can see your breath indoors (laughs). The charming owner prepares delicious and elaborate meals. Although there may be some waiting time as the owner manages everything alone, the atmosphere makes it enjoyable and worth the wait. I would love to visit again—next time during a warmer season!

The Room felt like staying at an overseas Hotel, and I was soothed by the ocean view that was always visible from both the living area and the bathroom. The meals were also a wonderful, out-of-the-ordinary Italian experience for me. Thank you very much.

The clean Room made for a very pleasant stay. The staff promptly responded to sudden requests, which was greatly appreciated. It was well-received by my family, and I would love to use it again.

The onsen was out of order, so we used nearby onsens with a pass. The accommodation staff were kind, and the meals were enjoyable and delicious. The breakfast rice was shiny and very tasty. I would love to try the onsen once it is fixed.

Everything was very clean, and the futons were also spotless. The living room on the second floor was so comfortable that the kids didn’t want to leave. Adjusting the bath temperature is a bit tricky, but since it’s free-flowing Onsen water, that’s understandable. The bath was wonderful and very relaxing. One of our kids wasn’t interested in table tennis at first, but once they started playing, they couldn’t stop. Highly recommended for larger groups. Thank you very much for everything!

My first time in Shikoku! It was a cute, reasonably priced house—perfect just for sleeping. Due to my flight schedule, I checked in late. Thank you for waiting for me. There were convenience stores and an Onsen nearby, so I had a great time. I’ll come again!

I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and was able to relax very well. It is run by a kind, friendly couple. The Onsen called the lava bath was very pleasant, and there was also an open-air bath. You can also bathe in the morning. If you are coming by car, you can park in the parking lot of the nearby shrine (?). It is close to Ohiradai Station. It was a wonderful Accommodation where you could hear wild birds and the train whistle.

The building is old, but the air conditioner and bidet toilet are almost brand new. The bath has a wonderful retro Showa-era vibe. Ideal for guests who mainly want to enjoy the Onsen. Without Niigata Prefecture’s Go To Travel campaign, it may feel a bit overpriced.

I made this Reservation for my wife and her mother to travel together. Although it seemed to be a day with few guests, you still provided attentive hospitality without cutting any corners, and they truly enjoyed the delicious meals. Thank you very much.

We stayed at this Accommodation, Sensui, for a 1-night, 2-day trip to Kinosaki Onsen to celebrate my wife’s birthday. From start to finish, the staff were wonderful. In particular, a veteran female staff member showed exceptional attentiveness and care during dinner; it was the kindest hospitality we have experienced in all our travels. We are truly grateful for the lasting memories. Kinosaki Onsen has a charming old-fashioned atmosphere, and we hope it continues to grow as an Onsen town. Next time we visit Kinosaki Onsen, we would like to stay at Sensui again.
