Livemax Resort Hakone Sengokuhara

The open-air bath had a window, and I bathed with the screen in place. The Room had a great view, so I could relax and enjoy the scenery while soaking. The Room was compact, and the washbasin was right next to the bed; at first I found it a bit surprising, but it was actually convenient for drying my hair and getting ready. The Room felt slightly humid.I was disappointed that the toilet paper holder and the bath shelf were coming loose. Also, other LiVEMAX properties offered coffee service, but this one did not, and the coffee served with meals tasted weak.The meals were excellent—the simmered splendid alfonsino (kinmedai) was especially delicious, and the Japanese set breakfast was also very good. All of the staff were very pleasant, so I had a comfortable stay. I would definitely like to visit again.

This was my first stay at the Livemax in Sengokuhara. The meals had a wonderful spring-inspired menu—rapeseed blossoms, bamboo shoots, firefly squid, and more—and everything was delicious. Livemax often offers buffet-style dining, but this was just as good as the Jogasaki kaiseki course. It also felt like high-quality ingredients were used. The beef for the sukiyaki was especially excellent, and I was more satisfied than expected. The Onsen in the large public bath was also great, with a milky-white appearance.All of the Livemax staff were foreign nationals, but their service was outstanding and their Japanese impressed me. I would love to visit again.I rated the location/Facility one point lower because there were severe road cave-ins right in front of the Hotel and the parking lot was a bit narrow—sorry.
