APA Hotel <Yodoyabashi Ekimae>

This time, when I arrived and headed to the self check-in machine, a female staff member stopped me before I touched it and asked for my name. As I was getting my phone ready so the QR code could be scanned right away, she looked at my screen without saying anything and touched my phone. It may have been just my misunderstanding, but it felt a bit intimidating. After that, I couldn’t clearly hear what someone behind the front desk said—something like “day use,” maybe—but they let me use the machine anyway, as if to say it was fine.

1. Service At check-in, the staff provided clear guidance that was easy for first-time guests to understand, with bright and friendly service full of smiles. I felt it was excellent hospitality that only staff who truly love APA Hotel can offer. The housekeeping staff also greeted me politely every time we passed.2. Public Bath The water felt slightly hotter than my usual bath temperature at home (42°C), but it warmed me through to the core and helped relieve my fatigue.3. Guest Room It was the perfect size for a solo stay. It also felt eco-friendly, eliminating waste and keeping costs down. The room was kept impeccably clean, without a speck of dust. The in-room monitor clearly provided essential information such as evacuation procedures in case of fire, crowding levels for the elevators and public bath, and access to programs I enjoyed, including BBC, NHK World-Japan, and variety shows. There was also an item to cover your head to help protect you from smoke, which gave me peace of mind in case of an emergency. The pillow helped ease stiffness in my neck and shoulders, allowing me to sleep very well. In addition, a book by the founder was discreetly placed in the room, which made me feel that today’s APA Hotel is built on daily efforts to provide better service with the support of colleagues and alumni.4. Breakfast Breakfast featured mainly Japanese dishes with reduced salt content and felt healthy overall.
