We stayed at Karuizawa Prince Hotel East, where we used to come skiing when our children were little, to celebrate our daughter’s university acceptance. The atmosphere was unchanged and full of nostalgia. We were satisfied with everything—the staff’s service, the Onsen, and the meals. We made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

I stayed here in early June. Tucked away behind Karuizawa Suwa Shrine, the lush and quiet surroundings were truly soothing for both body and mind. The friendly staff and the warm welcome from the large bear in the lobby made me smile, and the clean, spacious Room was comfortable and relaxing, with thoughtful attention to detail including amenities. Breakfast featured delicious vegetables, with a choice of mains that felt nourishing and wholesome. I enjoyed it so much that next time I’d love to try dinner as well.

We had a wonderful time with our dog. The meals were delicious. The service was excellent. We were able to spend lots of quality time with our dog. We’d love to come again.

Accommodation in Karuizawa is very expensive, so I chose this Hotel! Since it’s an older Hotel, I didn’t expect much in terms of cleanliness, but it was quite clean and I was very satisfied. The bath area is very spacious and clean, with a sauna and an open-air bath as well. Even when there are many guests, it doesn’t feel crowded, and there are always staff at the front desk who respond right away! Also, besides pajamas, you can wear the provided loungewear anywhere inside the building, so you can pack lighter! For breakfast I wanted something a bit more luxurious, so I went to The Prince for their morning buffet. There is also a free shuttle bus service, and the staff kindly explained everything to me, so boarding was smooth. It was a wonderful Hotel where I could spend an elegant stay from check-in to check-out!

The staff’s hospitality is outstanding. In every respect, this Hotel is better than another Hotel in Karuizawa that costs several times more. Some Chinese guests have poor manners, but I suppose that can’t be helped given Japan’s government policies.

Mount Myogi rose like a folding screen, and the scenery was spectacular! The Hotel was clean, and the Onsen had great water. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately, it wasn’t food I’d want to eat again... There are many sightseeing spots nearby, so we were able to stop by various places and had a very fulfilling trip.

You can walk to both Karuizawa Station and Kumoba Pond. It’s a slightly retro Hotel, with no elevator, and the shower and hair dryer are standard. That said, it has a nostalgic charm that I really liked. Meals were served at seats overlooking the garden greenery, and it was comfortable even when dining alone. Of course, the food was delicious. The staff were also very pleasant.

This was my first time staying at Comfort Inn Karuizawa. The staff were very kind, and even with breakfast included, the price was reasonable. Just one thing: the toilet drain pipe may have been dirty or not draining properly, and there was a slight odor in the morning. It didn’t happen on the second day. I’ll be back.

This is a very comfortable and pleasant Hotel. The Hotel is located right in the center of Old Karuizawa, within an easy and enjoyable walking distance for an early-morning breakfast. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, always with a smile. We were upgraded as there was availability, and they even let us check the Room before check-in. There are chairs along the corridor leading to the lobby, making it a nice spot to sit and relax. Thanks to everyone on the staff, we were able to enjoy a truly relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed with four adults and were able to relax comfortably. Outside the window, we could see trees and the waterfront, surrounded by nature. The Room facilities and location were excellent, and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. There are no dining options on-site, so we ate freely at our favorite restaurants, but for breakfast we bought ingredients at a supermarket and cooked for ourselves. If I had to mention one drawback, there was a persistent cigarette smell—perhaps because outside air is brought in—which was unpleasant; otherwise it felt perfect.

I made a Reservation because this Accommodation was reasonably priced and fairly close for sightseeing in Karuizawa. On arrival, there was welcome coffee from Mikado Coffee, and amenities were provided as well. Please note that pajamas are not provided. The Room was spacious and even had two TVs. I was also happy to find Mikado Coffee drip packs in the Room. A few things stood out: the Room felt a bit dated, I would have preferred newer slippers, and I saw a small ant while taking a bath—so it would be great if there were screens or something similar (it wasn’t so bad that it ruined the stay). That said, the breakfast included was very luxurious and exceeded the price! Since Karuizawa has stylish cafes, I think it would be nice to have a No Meals Included Plan as well. Wanting to refresh away from the everyday hustle, I visited Hacienda Karuizawa on a solo trip from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Despite its unbeatable location—just a 1-minute walk from Karuizawa Station—the moment you open the door, the bustle outside fades away as if it were a lie, and you’re enveloped in refined fragrance and calm. In this intimate Accommodation with only nine Rooms (the interiors supervised by The Conran Shop are truly wonderful), it’s easy to unwind—and best of all, as a guest benefit, I could use the “Aqua Ignis Garden Spa” and the “Share Lounge” free of charge. After gently loosening up in the spa’s sauna and open-air bath, I spent time in the Share Lounge reading whatever book I liked… I was able to fully enjoy blissful moments undisturbed by anyone. The staff’s sense of distance is perfect as well; their warm hospitality made me feel welcome even as a solo traveler. Beyond how comfortable the Room is, having full access to both the spa and lounge adds up to an experience that is unquestionably “worth more than the price.” Even with such excellent access from Tokyo, there’s nowhere else that lets you reset so deeply and truly indulge yourself. This is my precious hideaway—one I want to return to again as a reward for myself, in every season.

The newly opened accommodation was very clean and highly satisfying. The courtyard view from the entrance was particularly beautiful. Its convenient walking distance from Karuizawa Station made it easy to access shops, restaurants, and the accommodation itself. I would definitely like to stay here again.

I’ve visited Karuizawa many times, but this was my first stay here. Although it faces a main road, we weren’t bothered by traffic noise, and the Facility was clean, so we were able to relax completely. Our dog was smiling the whole time! The only thing I noticed was that the small window near the kitchen didn’t have any curtains or similar covering—blinds would be nice. The location is great as well, so I’d love to stay again!

I stayed here for the first time the night before climbing Mt. Myogi. The Onsen was a cloudy bath, and it was my first time experiencing its iron-like scent. I only had breakfast, but the miso soup in particular was delicious. The staff were pleasant, and the Room was spacious and clean. The futon and pillows were fluffy, so I slept soundly—overall a very satisfying Accommodation.

My sister and her husband from the U.S. visited Japan, and we used this accommodation for a one-night trip with our parents. The maisonette had 3 rooms with baths, each spacious, and the first floor featured a kitchen-equipped dining area and a living room with a fireplace, providing ample space even for 7 people. The center lounge offered alcohol-free drinks from morning to evening, which was perfect for those who enjoy non-alcoholic beverages (laughs). The young staff provided excellent service, while the experienced staff offered solid support when needed. We booked quite early at a very reasonable price; although there was an additional fee for early check-in, we opted for it. Please note that lounge access is available only after check-in. One night felt too short—I’d love to stay 2 or 3 nights next time!

We stayed for one night with three dogs to celebrate the New Year, and it turned out to be a highly satisfying experience. Considering the year-end traffic and the cold weather in Karuizawa, we opted for the bullet train this time. After exploring the outlet mall directly connected to the station, we took a taxi for about 11 minutes at a cost of approximately 3,500 yen. Later, we found out that Shuttle Service was available, so checking in advance would make things smoother. The property is very spacious—about half the size of Tokyo Dome by feel—and fully enclosed. It felt like an entire dog park, providing great peace of mind when traveling with pets. Although limited to one group per day, there are three tents available. For two people it feels luxurious; six people might strike a better balance. The dogs were relaxed throughout our stay and enjoyed their freedom without concern for others—a major highlight. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with drinks and used the sauna before dinner. The sauna allowed "löyly" (steam infusion) with around nine types of aroma oils provided. At about 90°C (194°F), it was perfect for working up a good sweat. While there wasn’t a cold plunge pool available, winter’s chilly outdoor air sufficed without inconvenience. The distance from the sauna to showers could be improved slightly; however, having a bonfire area right outside made outdoor relaxation part of its charm—I wish we'd checked in earlier! Dinner was BBQ-style featuring high-quality meats and vegetables along with delicious fish appetizers and soup as starters. A selection of wines including red wine starting at 5,500 yen as well as white wine and champagne were also offered. The BBQ venue had enclosures and heaters ensuring comfort even during colder seasons. The Room felt chilly due to exposure from outside air but came equipped with electric blankets plus heaters making sleeping conditions manageable overall—though stronger or additional heating units would enhance comfort further especially if you're sensitive towards cold temperatures; bringing extra warm clothing is recommended! Morning began again inside saunas followed by breakfast consisting thoughtfully prepared soup alongside Akagi beef shigureni bento boxes which delivered both satisfying portions & flavors alike! Throughout every interaction staff maintained pleasant professionalism striking ideal balance between attentiveness yet respecting privacy leaving lasting positive impressions behind too! Finally returning back via Shuttle Service ensured seamless end-to-end convenience concluding memorable stay altogether! Looking forward revisiting during spring/autumn seasons next time experiencing different scenery/atmosphere altogether anew!

Thank you for the wonderful and happy time. We recently stayed here for a family trip. As it has become rare for us to gather as a family since everyone is now working, this trip was very special. Thanks to the attentive service, well-equipped facilities, and the cozy, home-like atmosphere, we were able to spend a truly happy time together. For meals, we arranged both BBQ and a private chef service, and both exceeded our expectations with their excellent service and delicious food. The location is also great, within walking distance to the center of Old Karuizawa, allowing us to enjoy morning and evening strolls. We would love to stay here again someday.
