This was my first trip to Tohoku, and I stayed here. In recent years I hadn’t found an Accommodation that truly satisfied me, but this one exceeded my expectations in every way—hospitality, meals, and the Room. I took a taxi from the nearest station, and every driver said, “Everyone says there’s nothing to complain about!” They were absolutely right. It’s well worth the price—you won’t regret staying here. For those making a Reservation, I strongly recommend choosing a Plan that includes dinner! The portions are generous, and everything is delicious, including fresh seafood and mountain vegetables. Unfortunately it rained during our stay, but we were able to relax while listening to the rain and looking out over Matsushima. We’ll definitely return to see Matsushima in another season!

This was my first stay. With only three groups per day, it’s a private pet-friendly Accommodation with a gentle, welcoming atmosphere. The cuisine was excellent, as you’d expect from a Ryokan—especially the sesame tofu and soba. Meals were served in a private dining room. Our dog happily ate the dog pizza. We stayed in the “Kuu-chan” tatami Room on the first floor, which felt a bit too spacious, but it was comfortable with no odors. The bath was a private reservable bath assigned to each Room. Since we visited in August, it was too hot outside to do much. We heard bears may appear around places like Enakyo Gorge. One downside was that a belly band (manner belt) is required inside the Room.

The Room was thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. It was a twin Room, but quite compact—so much so that we had to move the table a little to make space when sitting on the sofa. Still, the sofa by the window was very comfortable, and we were able to relax while enjoying the view. I understand it can’t be helped due to the layout, but the toilet was also quite small, and I bumped my knees a few times when opening and closing the door. The washbasin area was also a bit dim. There are plenty of mirrors, but it’s not ideal for doing makeup, so I recommend using the powder room in the large public bath in the morning. On the other hand, the large public bath was excellent. When I first got in, the water felt quite lukewarm, but it gradually became properly warm and very relaxing. The view from both our Room and from the large public bath was wonderful, and I think you can probably enjoy great views from any Room. Breakfast was delicious as well, and overall we were very satisfied. This time we enjoyed the daytime scenery, so next time I’d like to stay again during Nakanoshima’s illumination season.

It was our first trip to Okinawa in a while. In the past, we traveled with our children and visited many places, so we didn’t spend much time at the Hotel. Now that we are both in our 60s, we enjoyed a relaxing Multiple Night Stay for two nights. Because it is a remote island a little far from Naha, we could truly feel the authentic, non-touristy Okinawa. Not only was the food wonderful, but being warmly chatted with by the staff was the greatest “reward” of all. We became fans of Kouri Island and One Suite. We would love to visit again.

The lake could be seen from our Room, the dining area, and even the bath, and we were able to truly relax from the heart. The meals were gentle and beautifully presented without overpowering the natural flavors of the ingredients, the portions were just right, and everything was absolutely delicious. The proprietress’s thoughtful care and the kindness of everyone at the Accommodation could be felt in so many ways. It’s far away so we can’t visit often, but this time we even got to enjoy fireworks as a special treat, and staying at your Accommodation became a truly wonderful memory.

We stayed as a family with children, split across three Rooms. During Silver Week, many people were heading to Kinosaki Marine World, and because there is only one road to the parking area, there was a massive traffic jam. Even though we were close, we couldn’t move forward for a while and were worried about what would happen. Later, thanks to staff guidance, we were able to reach the front of the Hotel and felt relieved. At that moment, I truly felt glad we had made our Reservation at Kinparo. For dinner, they prepared a private dining Room so all three families could eat together. Even with small children moving around, we didn’t have to worry about disturbing other guests, and we could enjoy our meal at ease. Our child had an accident during the meal, but the staff handled it kindly and professionally—we are very grateful. The Rooms were spacious, and it was comfortable to relax in Tokijiku Lounge and visit The Walrus Club as well—the open spaces made for a very pleasant stay. The view from the Hotel was wonderful, and all of the staff provided courteous service. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. There was only one reason I came to Shirahama: To stay at Kuroshio Sou. When people think of Shirahama, many picture the sea and resorts. But what I found here was Wakayama itself. What moved me most at this Accommodation was not only how outstanding the food was. It was Head Chef Etani’s exceptional skill, and his deep respect for the producers who support every single dish. Fishermen. Farmers. Brewers. Roasters. And the artisans who continue to protect Japan’s fermentation culture. The moment I saw the map of producers introduced alongside the meal, I understood what this Accommodation truly values. Through the cuisine, you encounter not only ingredients, but also the people behind them and Wakayama’s climate and character. I was especially impressed by how delicious the soy sauce and Kinzanji miso were at dinner. When I asked about them, I learned they were from Horigawaya Nomura—a producer with over 350 years of history that still preserves traditional craftsmanship using firewood-heated iron kettles—making both their soy sauce and Kinzanji miso in that way today as well. I had originally planned to visit a different soy sauce brewery, but heavy rain made it impossible. Sometimes, the places you cannot reach end up guiding you to the story you were truly meant to find. For me, Kuroshio Sou was exactly that kind of place. The wonderful Onsen gently healed not only my body, but my mind as well. The quiet comfort throughout the building, Chef Etani’s cuisine, and the hospitality of all staff— together they quietly express this Accommodation’s philosophy in everything it does。 As a former chef from Tasmania, there is something I felt deeply: True hospitality is not just serving delicious food; it is helping guests connect with the people and culture that sustain a place。 I now have one more reason to return to Wakayama。 Thank you again from my heart.

We had been looking forward to our stay even before arriving. We stayed in a Room with a slide, and the kids were thrilled (an early elementary schooler and a 3-year-old). The Facility offerings were also excellent, so we had no trouble at all even with children (including a space where kids can play). They also organized a festival event inside the Hotel during our visit, and we joined that as well. All the staff were kind, and we felt their hospitality everywhere. The view from the rooftop terrace was wonderful (morning is recommended). During dinner, there was live music, and they included songs that children would enjoy, so it never got boring. Highly recommended for families with children. Of course, I think it would be a very satisfying stay for adults only as well. We will definitely return. Thank you very much for everything.

My daughter and I took a whirlwind 24-hour trip to Hakodate. Even with limited time to spend at the Hotel, we enjoyed wonderful meals, an Onsen, and a Room with an amazing location. It was a truly lovely Hotel. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, with a wide variety of options—everything was delicious, and we ended up eating far too much. We used the large public bath, and the view from the open-air bath in the morning was incredible. Since we checked in after sunset, it was pitch-dark outside when we arrived, but once daylight came, the view from the window took our breath away. As far as the eye could see was ocean—an unforgettable sight for someone who doesn’t live near the sea. The staff included many young people and international team members, and everyone treated us sincerely and with warm smiles, making our stay truly comfortable. The only disappointment was that our stay was far too short. Hakodate is quite far for us so we can’t visit often, but next time we’d like to stay at least two nights.

It was my first mother-and-daughter trip in a long time with my daughter who lives in Tokyo. From the moment we left our luggage before check-in, the staff were wonderful. When I checked in and looked hot, a male staff member quickly brought me a cold wet towel. The staff we passed in the hallway, the staff who offered welcome drinks in the first-floor lobby, and the pregnant female staff member who guided us at breakfast (I wonder if she has started her maternity leave?)—everyone was so kind. The breakfast was delicious no matter what we chose, and the kitchen staff were also truly pleasant. We were completely satisfied with everything. The Room was clean and showed great taste. We rested comfortably. Perhaps because it’s not a large property, it was very quiet and relaxing. The beautifully arranged fresh flowers at the entrance were also wonderful. It became a truly enjoyable trip to Kyoto. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

They kindly provided Shuttle Service for us as we were traveling by bus, and we also saw them speaking thoughtfully to other guests in many situations. We had a hard time choosing a Hotel on Sado Island, but we are truly glad we chose this one. Thanks to all of you, our trip to S

I visited after a long time. I could only book the Connect Twin before, but since it was a weekday, I was able to stay in the Wide View Twin again. The large windows offering expansive views of the sea and city were wonderful! The Room also had a massage chair. The public bath was as great as ever, providing a relaxing experience. The shampoo and other amenities were different from before, but they didn’t cause any dryness or irritation, which was reassuring. There was also a Refa hair dryer available. Please note that there is no sauna for women in the morning. Breakfast offers a choice between Japanese and Western set meals, with unlimited refills of salad, rice, bread, coffee, etc., making it very satisfying. It seemed like most guests chose the Japanese set meal; I opted for the Western one and appreciated that freshly grilled sausages were brought to my table when they ran out initially. The Himi Udon noodles were also delicious! Parking is convenient if you arrive early enough—you can park on Hotel’s 1st floor or at the flat lot across from it. Even if those are full, the municipal parking isn’t too far away either. It was an excellent stay with great value for money and left me feeling very satisfied overall. The staff provided exceptionally pleasant service throughout my visit. Oh yes—the complimentary coffee service on the 1st floor is much appreciated! Because of this amenity, having only powdered tea in Room wasn’t an issue at all. Thank you very much!

I travel out many times throughout the year. I was truly won over by how delicious the food was here. The rice was cooked perfectly! Ayu sashimi (my first time), salt-grilled ayu (the seasoning, grilling, and timing of service), and even the soup—everything was flawless. From now on, your salt-grilled ayu will likely be my benchmark for taste. This may sound presumptuous, but I believe it’s simple dishes that really show a chef’s skill. The yukata in the Room were crisp and nicely starched, so even someone like me who doesn’t usually like yukata could wear it comfortably. I also appreciated the detox water after bathing.

The water quality was excellent, and I found it soothing enough to visit many times during my stay. Since it was during the summer vacation season, being able to watch the fireworks launched every day also became a wonderful memory. Separate two-piece samue loungewear is provide

Traveling with our dog, everything—price, service, cleanliness, etc.—was excellent. [Things that would make it even better] - It would be helpful to have plastic bags in the bathroom for wet clothes. - At breakfast, some dishes didn’t have labels, so we couldn’t tell what they were; it would be nice if all items were labeled. - A lid for the pet crate would make it easier to leave our dog alone with peace of mind. - It would be great to have a safety measure on the balcony fence to prevent dogs from falling, just in case they slip out by accident. - Better pruning of the trees around the open-air bath would make it even nicer. - It would be nice to have one lane in the pool for guests who want to swim laps. I ended up writing a lot, but we will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

I visit on business every year, but this was my first stay in Kaike Onsen. Since I was here for work, I wasn’t expecting anything special, but not only was the Onsen wonderful—the meals were excellent as well. The sunset over the Sea of Japan from our spacious Room was absolutely breathtaking. I would definitely like to stay again next time. Thank you very much.

We stayed in a detached Room. There were four of us, and it was very spacious with a beautiful interior—we were extremely satisfied. From the open-air bath on the 11th floor, we had a panoramic view of Lake Suwa. The meals also included free alcoholic beverages, and the staff were very attentive, so we had a truly wonderful time.
