I had long had this Accommodation on my list to visit, and chose it for a trip to celebrate my retirement. With no worries about the weather, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the baths. There was also a free Shuttle Service from Shin-Tamagawa to Tamagawa, and the vigorously bubbling Onsen was truly impressive. Both the quality and quantity of the meals were excellent, and I was able to fully enjoy Akita’s local cuisine.

This time we stayed in the VIP Room and enjoyed the premium kaiseki dinner course. The Room was very spacious, the garden was beautifully maintained, and the private open-air bath attached to the Room was excellent. All of the staff who assisted us were very kind, and every dinner dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious. Breakfast seemed to be the same for all courses, but since we can’t eat much in the morning, we personally appreciated that it was on the lighter side. We also visited the large public bath, but we noticed towels left at washing stations that were not being used and some guests reserving spots. We think it would be even better if there were guidance on how to use the facilities in languages other than Japanese. Access was convenient—about a 7-minute walk to the streetcar stop. By taxi or car, you can reach major sightseeing spots in about 15 minutes, so if you don’t have a car, using both the streetcar and taxis makes it easy to get around. It was a 5-minute drive from the airport, so being able to leave our luggage before/after our stay was very convenient. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again for about two nights in a VIP Room with the premium dining course. Thank you very much.

Used this Hotel for an Eastern Hokkaido golf tour. We rented a tall SUV to load golf bags, and the parking lot includes flat areas, which was convenient. We had a Multiple Night Stay under separate Reservations, and thanks to the staff’s consideration we were able to stay in the same Room throughout, which was very helpful. The Onsen was great—very much what you’d expect from Dormy Inn—with a semi-open-air bath that felt wonderful. Breakfast was also excellent, with locally sourced ingredients and a very satisfying selection. We will stay here again on our next Eastern Hokkaido tour.

This is the best Accommodation in the Okuhida Onsen area. The value for money is outstanding. We really enjoyed the open-air bath in the Room, the private open-air bath, and the lounge area after bathing. This was our second stay.

I stayed for two nights. The ocean view from the panoramic bath on the third floor was amazing. The Onsen was also great.

I stayed at this Accommodation yesterday! The service was very attentive, and the in-room open-air bath was flawless. Watching the staff grill and prepare sushi right in front of us at dinner and breakfast made the experience even better. Thank you for a wonderful one-night stay!

The sashimi boat platter at dinner was stunning and tasted amazing. Our whole family loved it, and we really enjoyed our drinks. Of course, the other dishes were delicious as well. Breakfast was a buffet, and the sashimi was excellent too. The sauna was very clean and relaxing. It opens from 4:00 a.m., so we could refresh with an early-morning sauna. We’d definitely love to come again.

I love the calm atmosphere of Tateshina Tokyu Hotel and have stayed here several times. Its setting in the forest, the dignified yet unpretentious interiors, and the quiet time you can spend here offer a charm that is hard to find at other hotels. This time was no different, and it reminded me again how much I like this hotel. Also, though it’s a small thing, I really like the toothbrushes in the guest rooms. They’re comfortable to use, and I can feel the hotel’s thoughtfulness even in these details. I hope you will continue with the current ones. On the other hand, precisely because I’ve been coming for many years, there are a few things that disappointed me. The biggest one is that Japanese dinner has been discontinued since this year. On a Multiple Night Stay, we used to enjoy being able to choose “Western tonight, Japanese tomorrow” within the hotel itself. Especially for us—who prefer not to drive once we arrive and instead relax in the forest or inside—the option was very important. French cuisine certainly has its appeal, but having Western meals both nights makes it feel like a slightly different hotel than before. I would be happy if Japanese dinner becomes an option again someday. I was also sorry to hear that the garden pool, long loved by guests, has ended operations starting this year. I understand it was due to aging facilities (Facility), but combined with the end of Japanese dinner options (Facility), it feels as though some of what made Tateshina Tokyu special is gradually disappearing. One more thing I would love to see enhanced is the in-house library collection (Facility). This is such a quiet Hotel where you can relax while looking out at the forest—perfect for reading. The current selection feels lacking not so much in quantity as in curation quality. If there were more books that you’d want to pick up specifically because you came to Tateshina—on Shinshu’s nature and culture, mountains, architecture, travel writing, literature—it would make time spent at this Hotel even richer. I’m not asking for new facilities or services one after another. Rather, I hope you will continue cherishing and preserving what makes this Hotel unique. These comments come from someone who truly likes this Hotel—and I hope to keep visiting for many years to come.

This time, we stayed in the “GENJI Kaori” Room with a private bath. When entering the Room, unlike the other Rooms, there was a gate and an entry system using password authentication, which made it feel special and was excellent. We were more satisfied than ever with the Room, the bath, and services such as amenities, and we were able to relax very comfortably. However, we felt a bit disappointed with dinner. Dinner was buffet-style, but it would be even better if seating could be separated by Room type for guests staying at the Accommodation, or if there were a service to deliver dishes to the Room upon request. These days many Accommodations offer buffet-style dining, but in many cases—perhaps due to how the food is arranged—it gets crowded and hard to serve yourself, and it can be noisy and difficult to enjoy a calm meal. Because the Room, bath, and services were so good, we hope dinner will be improved going forward. Considering that point, we had no choice but to deduct points this time. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed for one night at Hotel Mount Fuji. We were unexpectedly upgraded, and were able to relax in a Suite Room. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, we couldn’t enjoy the Mt. Fuji view we had been looking forward to. If it had been clear, I’m sure we would have had a panoramic view of majestic Mt. Fuji from the west-facing terrace. Given the Hotel’s wonderful location, the only regret this time was not having better weather. We would love to visit again on a sunny day. What left the strongest impression was the French dinner. Not only was everything delicious, but the presentation and portion sizes were also excellent—overall, we were extremely satisfied. We truly enjoyed savoring the meal at a leisurely pace.

We stayed in a detached Room. There were four of us, and it was very spacious with a beautiful interior—we were extremely satisfied. From the open-air bath on the 11th floor, we had a panoramic view of Lake Suwa. The meals also included free alcoholic beverages, and the staff were very attentive, so we had a truly wonderful time. After our trip to Furano, we found this Hotel while looking for a place to stay on the way home. Because it’s in the mountains, we were a bit worried about the drive, but it wasn’t far from downtown Ashibetsu, so we arrived without any trouble. We expected an older Facility, but once inside it felt completely modern. Everything was spotless, and there were lots of features younger guests would enjoy. Detox water stations from various brands, a space filled with books, areas to relax and chat, a guest-only lounge, wall art, and exhibits about Yutani Onsen and local coal mine history—there was always something interesting to see. The owl artwork on the wall was especially cute; if there had been any related goods for sale, I would have bought them. After getting out of the bath area, I was disappointed that one spot had that owl covered by a notice—I really wanted to see it. Our Room had a classic Japanese style but was very clean. The tatami mats were fresh and green-blue and felt great. It seemed that the open-air bath and the pot bath used Onsen water. Unfortunately it rained at night, but soaking in the Onsen under cover while listening to the rain was truly relaxing. I feel like I’ve made a connection with Ashibetsu as well—I genuinely want to visit again. I’d definitely recommend this Accommodation to friends and acquaintances. It was the height of summer, but we were able to relax and enjoy a hygge stay. The in-room Onsen allowed us to bathe without any worries, and it was wonderful to unwind on the wooden deck early in the morning. The meal was delicious—not only the kaiseki course, but also the sea bream rice. Check-out at the entrance was a first for us, and we really appreciated it. We’d love to visit again during crab season.

The hotel had a very calm atmosphere and was a great place for my spouse and me to stay for one night and two days. The large public bath was especially relaxing. The tub was spacious, there were four shower booths, and the amenities were well stocked. The shampoo also smelled wonderful. In-room amenities are available in the lobby, so you pick up what you need yourself. It was also convenient to have an ice machine, vending machines, and a microwave near the elevator on our floor. We appreciated the welcome drink machine in the lobby as well—it offered hot coffee, tea, and other warm drinks. It was available from 6:00, so we enjoyed a delicious hot coffee to start the day. Free parking was another plus, and it was nice that we could walk to nearby sightseeing spots. Thanks to this stay, we were able to fully enjoy our first trip to Shiga.

It is in a very convenient location near Takayama Jinya, and free parking is also available. As it was right in the middle of the Hina Matsuri season, both the Hotel and the main building were decorated with many hina dolls, from old ones such as Goten-bina and Kyoho-bina to newly made dolls, which we really enjoyed. The seasonal kaiseki dinner was delicious, and even the tableware was thoroughly themed around hina dolls, making it an amazing experience. The Room had a river view that let us feel the atmosphere of the old townscape, and the Onsen bath was very relaxing. The staff were kind as well—this is a Ryokan I would recommend.

After descending from the mountains on the second night of my two-night stay in Shima Onsen—somewhere I had long wanted to visit—I stayed at this Accommodation. It is located in a quiet area, and the beautiful views of the Shima River from both the Room and the baths, along with the excellent spring quality and comfortable temperatures, made me very satisfied. The three large public baths were each enjoyable. The proprietress’s picture-story show and talk, which she has continued for 33 years, were skillful, fun, soothing, and highly recommended. The staff were also polite and very pleasant, providing attentive hospitality throughout. This is one Accommodation I would like to stay at again.

Free drink bar (including alcohol), plus post-bath ice bars and probiotic drinks, and manga. Amazing! The bath water quality is great, and the rooms are clean. An Onsen stream runs alongside the Hotel and is beautifully illuminated. Dinner was a buffet, and they even had meaty snow crab. I couldn’t help but overeat. A highly recommended Accommodation.

We stayed here to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. The Room was spacious, and it was great to be able to use two baths—one for day-use guests and one for overnight guests. The meals were delicious, and we were very happy to receive a birthday gift at the time dessert was served at dinner. We also enjoyed having a birthday party in the Room. Since we checked out at 7:15 a.m. to go to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, we would like to stay longer next time. Thank you very much.
