We stayed here for a girls’ trip with five friends. It’s a whole-house rental, and the entire place is new and spotless! The interior and furniture are so stylish and cute that we were excited the moment we walked in. The owner was also kind and attentive, which made us feel at ease. You can see the ocean from the terrace, and the surrounding hills and fields create a truly relaxing atmosphere. Since it’s set slightly back from the main road, it was nice and quiet as well. When we visit Awaji Island again, we’d love to stay here again! Thank you very much for everything.

Our planned check-in time was 6:00 PM, but we ended up taking our time in central Gero. When we called to request a change to a 9:30 PM check-in, they kindly accommodated us. At check-in, they carefully explained the room and how to use the amenities. The room was thoroughly cleaned and very comfortable to stay in. We also traveled with our dog, and because the Accommodation we rented was spacious, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. When we visit the Gero area again, we would like to stay here again.

The building has an old mountain-cabin style, but the interior is kept clean. It has a spacious living Room, a dining kitchen, and two Japanese-style Rooms. You can also enjoy a BBQ on the large terrace. Air conditioning is fully equipped, so it’s comfortable even if you have a dog that gets hot easily. Also, the bath is very spacious.

It’s usually hard to get a Reservation, so I was lucky to secure one this time. When I first entered the Room, I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the lights—please explain this at check-in. Is it possible to adjust the air conditioner temperature? The breakfast buffet felt like it had a limited selection. It was noisy outside the Room until late at night. There were also not many power outlets. The Room itself was clean.

A magnificent traditional Japanese house standing quietly in a hilly area. It seems to have opened recently, and with no Reviews at all, we made our Reservation based on the photos and description on the booking site. The result: absolutely the right choice! It brought back memories for the first time in decades of visiting a relative’s beautiful old home when I was a child. Spacious, spotless, and so much fun—we adults found ourselves walking around the Accommodation again and again. All Facilities, including the bathroom areas and appliances, are completely up to date. The price is unbelievably reasonable, so I honestly wasn’t expecting much in terms of amenities (sorry!), but everything is provided—you don’t need to bring anything. We also gratefully enjoyed the water, breakfast bread, and coffee. If the weather is nice, I highly recommend having a barbecue in the garden. There’s also a supermarket nearby. Basically it’s self-service. However, since everything you need is there, I think this is an ideal Accommodation for anyone who wants to do things at their own pace. By the way, it was online check-in so we didn’t get to meet them, but we heard it’s run by a couple. Their warm personality really came through in our email exchanges beforehand—I would have loved to meet them in person—so that’s my only regret. It isn’t an easy trip from Kanto, but it’s a wonderful place I’d love to visit again someday. Finally, I’m sorry this Review is so late.

It was a spacious and clean Room. The woman who brought our meal was friendly, which made us happy.

Thank you for hosting us during the Obon holiday period in 2026. - Since the Accommodation is a member of the onsen association, you can use the public bath (Hakoyu) about a 2–3 minute walk away for half price (350 yen). If you like public baths, you may feel there’s no need for an in-house bath. There is also a shared shower at the Accommodation (Reservation required at the front desk). - There is paid parking about a 5-minute walk away for 500 yen per night. Even if you stay at a large Hotel, it’s common to have parking that’s a similar walking distance, so I didn’t find it inconvenient that this Accommodation doesn’t have on-site parking. It was 500 yen per day, and the parking attendant told me it’s the same price through the next morning after your stay, which I appreciated. - The interior seems to have been renovated in recent years—simple, clean, and well kept. Compared with what I expected from the name “shukubo” and the price, it was very comfortable and I’d like to stay again. - The second-floor triple Room had a nice view of the park and Shuzenji Temple from the window, with good airflow as well. - It’s best to pack light; the stairs are steep and narrow. - Soundproofing is limited. Being considerate of noise feels important to avoid issues. It may not suit guests who want to be lively in their Room late into the night. At normal hours with normal conversation volume, I wasn’t particularly bothered by voices from neighboring Rooms. I hope this helps.

We booked for four to enjoy Shodoshima’s best ocean view—especially the moment the sun sets—but on the day of our stay, two family members suddenly couldn’t travel, so it ended up being just me and one child. They promptly refunded the BBQ set we could no longer use, and when we were leaving the Accommodation, they even gave us a bottle of olive oil made from olives harvested in a nearby field as a parting gift. We truly appreciated their kindness and concern for our family until the very end. The view from the bathroom window was also wonderful. We’d love to come back and try again.

With no limit on the number of dogs, our dogs were able to relax and enjoy themselves, and we were able to unwind in the Onsen as well. The beautifully maintained garden and exterior were wonderful, and it felt special from the moment we arrived. It was a very comfortable Accommodation where we could stay without hesitation even with our dogs. We would definitely like to stay again.

We visited as a family of nine. The moment we entered the Room, everyone got super excited! The grandkids were having a blast (lol). It had a calm, kura-style atmosphere, the garden was beautifully maintained, and the open-air bath felt great. This kura-style Accommodation was amazing! We’ll definitely stay again when we’re in the area. Thank you for your kind hospitality and for taking such good care of us. The only minor issue was that the open-air bath uses recirculated water, and we noticed a slight chlorine smell.

We stayed for one night with breakfast and dinner included. The staff were kind, and the meals were delicious—we were very satisfied! Our child was thrilled and said, “I want to stay here again!”

I stayed here for one night during a motorcycle trip. It is close to the coast with great views, the building is still new and clean, and the shared areas have many Facilities and amenities, so I was very satisfied.

Thank you so much for accommodating an early check-in!!!! The Hotel was very clean, and I was extremely satisfied. I couldn’t hear any noise from the neighboring Room at all, and the location was convenient—overall, I was truly delighted. I would love to stay again.

During our Golden Week trip to Disney, Accommodation rates were high everywhere, so we made a Reservation here because it was affordable and looked clean in the photos. Since there are no staff on-site like a private rental, we were a bit worried at first, but we received guidance by email and checked in without any issues. The Room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and we were able to recover from our fatigue. There is no TV, but there is a ceiling-mounted projector so you can watch YouTube and more. There is also a washer and dryer, which was convenient for doing laundry even when our clothes got dirty. The rooftop offered a great view of the illuminated Tokyo Skytree as well—an excellent location. It was really great.

The more you travel, the more your 기준 for choosing an Accommodation shifts from “luxury” to “essential comfort.” Tucked away in a mountain gorge at 1,000 meters above sea level in Kokonoe, Oita, Tabinoyado Yamatsubaki feels like the final paradise discerning travelers eventually find. Its greatest value lies in its intentionally limited number of rooms. Far removed from the bustle of a large Ryokan, it offers complete privacy—paired with perfectly judged hospitality that is attentive without ever feeling intrusive. From the moment you arrive, you can feel everyday life quietly fade away. The open-air bath is simply unforgettable. In crisp, unobstructed air, soaking in superb free-flowing Onsen while watching the starry sky shift moment by moment becomes more than a bath—it’s an indulgent sense of oneness with nature. For an Accommodation with such a private atmosphere, the generous space throughout is exceptional and especially appealing to wellness-minded travelers. As I was visiting after business and didn’t want to inconvenience the owner couple, I booked a stay with breakfast only—but each dish at breakfast told its own story. Every bite was spot-on and far beyond expectations. I regretted not ordering dinner so much that I could only think afterward: “Why didn’t I?” I also learned that at nearby Komatsu Jigoku—reopened for sightseeing after restoration completed in summer 2025—you can make Onsen eggs yourself. They kindly sold me eggs upon request and graciously accommodated my last-minute favor. I visited in early summer, but reaching Kokonoe’s mountains when they are covered in snow will likely require some preparation. Even so, that challenge only adds to the thrill of heading into a hidden retreat. Nature, renowned hot springs, and outstanding cuisine—Yamatsubaki brings them together in near-perfect balance. It isn’t just somewhere to stay; it’s a destination in itself—a truly one-of-a-kind Accommodation worth traveling for.

The retro atmosphere was wonderful and made for a great memory of our trip to Sado! Perhaps because it’s still new, the Room—including the bathroom—was very clean and comfortable. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Sado, and I would recommend it to others as well.

When information isn’t available on the website, I look it up elsewhere. It said there was a coin laundry, but there wasn’t. I was left wondering if I have to call every time to confirm. From the outside, it looks like lots of containers, but inside the Room doesn’t feel like a container at all. This time my Room had no neighboring Room, so it was very quiet. I’d always wanted to stay at a container Hotel—my wish came true.

Both the Hotel and the Room were clean and well maintained. Although my stay was No Meals Included, it was very comfortable.

Our family of four stayed here to enjoy Fuji-Q Highland and the surrounding area. There are two parking spaces, so even a larger car can be parked easily. The house was clean, and the terrace had a table and chairs, so we were comfortable both indoors and outdoors. Both bedrooms have a home theater system, and we could watch Netflix, YouTube, etc., which was great. Fuji-Q Highland is within 10 minutes by car, and there are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. They responded politely to any concerns or questions, which made us feel at ease during our stay.

I chose this Accommodation for my first stay in Usa City. The staff gave a thorough explanation of the Facility, which left a great impression. You can also borrow loungewear and two towels, so you could stay even if you arrive empty-handed at worst. As for the bath, since it was Saturday I aimed to go after 10:00 PM, but as expected for such a popular Facility it was quite crowded. When groups of about 4–5 people move around the sauna and baths at the same time, they end up taking over and other guests can hardly use them. I also used another Hotel I was considering for a day-use bath; its large public bath was about the same size, so if around 30 people bathe at once it would feel very cramped. The service and Facility are excellent, so I thought it would be even better if Onsen users could be managed a bit more (for example, splitting usage times by preferred time slots for staying guests, or separating hours for day visitors). It’s far from where I live, but I’d like to stay here again when I visit Usa City. Thank you very much.
