I stayed with my puppy. This is the Hotel my previous dog loved. I had decided that our first overnight stay would be at this Hotel. It has been over a year since my previous dog passed away, and it was probably more than two years since our last stay. Even though it had been quite some time, thank you for your kind thoughtfulness toward my previous dog. You even prepared an offering meal for him (there was a small mistake in the kanji, but that just made us smile). At checkout, you also gave us an offering as well. I was so moved that I couldn’t stop crying. In fact, during our second stay with the puppy last month there was a small mix-up; when I wrote about it in a Review, you responded immediately and I truly appreciated it. I feel embarrassed that I quickly wrote a Review about my complaint, yet delayed writing this thank-you Review for what you did for my previous dog. I am very sorry. The hospitality and Facilities—everything—are wonderful at this Hotel. We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

This was our first stay, and the stone sauna helped flush out toxins—I could really feel my body responding. The hot water was gentle, and there are three private baths as well, so it’s highly recommended for anyone who loves soaking. The Room has been renovated and is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and we were able to spend a relaxing time making wonderful family memories. The meals were creative and thoughtfully prepared; even my elderly mother had a better appetite than usual, and everything looked beautiful too. It’s also close to Tokyo, so we hope to visit again easily.

The front desk staff welcomed us kindly, and we enjoyed the delicious welcome drink. The amenities were well stocked with a variety of teas, and we were happy to find face masks as well. The Room was clean, and the bathroom facilities were very comfortable. We would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

The location was excellent, and the views of Sanshiro Island and Suruga Bay from the Room, the bath, and the lobby were amazing. There were complimentary drinks and tokoroten available in the free lobby, and the private family bath was open—everything could be used without a Reservation. The night view from the rooftop was also wonderful, and we enjoyed it like a vacation home. The staff service was outstanding as well. We would love to stay again.

It was my first stay in a while, and it remains a wonderful Hotel. The approach leading straight from the public road to the main entrance is elegant and picturesque. Since it opened in 1935, the Facilities are not the latest, but that is exactly what gives it a unique charm. The staff’s service was also impeccable. For dinner, we enjoyed classic French cuisine rather than today’s modern fusion style—it was delicious. As is true of Unzen’s tourist areas in general, this historic destination is rich in nature, and I imagine maintaining both the Facilities and the gardens must be challenging for those in tourism. I’m sure there are many difficulties, but I truly hope you will continue to preserve this beautiful Hotel.

We stayed here for an anniversary trip as a couple. Since we both love saunas, we chose this Accommodation. In a word: “The most satisfying Accommodation we’ve ever stayed at”! From check-in to meals to check-out, all the staff were consistently courteous and attentive, and we felt comfortable from start to finish. What surprised us first when we entered the Room was how well stocked everything was—amenities and even complimentary items in the refrigerator. It was the first time we’d experienced such generous hospitality, and both of us kept saying, “Wow!” the whole time. The sauna we’d been looking forward to exceeded our expectations. During self löyly, a gentle roasted green tea aroma filled the space and was incredibly relaxing. The outdoor cooling area was also very comfortable, and we were able to unwind so much that we lost track of time. If you love saunas, I highly recommend trying it at least once. Both the Italian course dinner and the Japanese breakfast were truly excellent—we were completely satisfied. Not only were they beautifully presented, but every dish was delicious, with just the right portions so we could enjoy everything through to the end. It was our first time having a course meal so I felt a little nervous at first, but that made it an even more special memory. The overall atmosphere of the Accommodation was wonderful as well—enjoying the sauna, reading together, having unhurried conversations… Because there’s no clock or TV here, we could forget our usual busy routine and spend truly luxurious time together. The Room was spacious too—calm and very relaxing. If I had to mention one thing: since we stayed in summer, the open-air bath used as a cold plunge felt slightly lukewarm. I think it’s seasonal though—next time I’d like to visit in autumn or winter and enjoy an even more refreshing sauna experience. This is an Accommodation I genuinely recommend for anyone who wants to spend quiet time indoors or refresh while forgetting everyday busyness. Our anniversary became an unforgettable memory. We would absolutely love to stay again—thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed as a group of five with our daughter and son-in-law and our 5-month-old grandchild. It was our grandchild’s very first trip and their first Onsen experience. As it was a weekday, we were upgraded to the highest-grade Room, which made our stay extremely comfortable with no inconveniences at all. The attendant who looked after us seemed relatively new, but provided courteous service with care in every detail. The private open-air bath was wonderful, and we enjoyed delicious meals. The simmered golden eye snapper in particular had a gentle seasoning and was outstanding. It was also our first time trying the mixed breakfast dish, and it was very tasty. The location is close to Atami Ginza and Sun Beach, making it perfect for strolling around and enjoying local food. Thanks to you, it was a truly satisfying trip in every way. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. The open-air bath and toilet in the Room were very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. We were also surprised that even the indoor bath was an Onsen. As we traveled with our grandchild, the pool was wonderful and our grandchild was delighted. Since this time was only a one-night stay, everyone was very disappointed, and we are thinking of staying longer next year. Although one of us became unwell, thank you sincerely for your attentive support. The Facility is new, yet it is a wonderful Accommodation that preserves traditional Japanese hospitality and service.

Stayed on August 5th for the fireworks day. Everyone at the front desk, the dinner venue, and the fireworks guidance staff were cheerful and wonderful. The meal also included dancing abalone. The private bath was free, and it was an open-air bath with an ocean view! The Room was clean and didn’t feel old at all. We were very satisfied!

This was a trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The service, Facility, and meals were all excellent—everything was perfect. We’re glad we chose Sansenkaku. We also truly appreciated all the thoughtful consideration you showed us. Since we drove from Okayama, it may be difficult to visit again soon, but we would love to stay again if we have the chance. We will recommend you to our children and those around us. It became a wonderful memory, and it feels like we’ll be able to continue spending the rest of our lives happily together as a couple. The Room allowed smoking, but it was very clean and had no smell at all. There was no noise from outside; the only sound I could hear was the refrigerator motor near the pillow, so I was able to relax in peace. If you’re driving, the parking lot is spacious, and it’s conveniently located right by a main road. It was excellent.

Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. This year again, we stayed as a couple in two single Rooms. Thank you for another comfortable stay. Close to the station, with escalators up and down from the pedestrian deck. The Room is compact and cozy, and has everything we need. The bathroom has no step, and the bathtub is deep enough to soak up to your shoulders. The Hotel is clean and well maintained, and the breakfast was delicious—we were very satisfied. Since we only come back at night to sleep after finishing our errands, it’s better than booking a twin Room at a Hotel farther from the station. Having separate bathrooms morning and night means no wasted time—perfect for us. I’ve already made a Reservation for next year as well. We look forward to staying again.

It was a calm, adults-only Accommodation with a relaxing atmosphere. The attentive service, guest room, and bath facilities were all high quality, and we were very satisfied. The meals were not too much—just the right amount for seniors—and truly excellent. I have stayed here many times. Among the Onsen in Zao, the water quality is excellent, and Tsuruya’s baths suit me perfectly. There are also four types of private baths, so you can relax and enjoy them at your own pace. The food is incredibly delicious—every meat dish is generous in portion size and so tasty that you’ll want to eat it again right away. This time I had the Zao beef steak; it was very tender and wonderful with a variety of flavors such as lemon butter and wasabi. I will definitely visit again. A Multiple Night Stay is also recommended.

A long-established yet not old-fashioned, charming, and spotless Hotel. The staff were all very kind. And the meals were absolutely delicious! With refined seasoning that makes the most of local ingredients, we ate until we could barely move. Next time, I’d love to visit in the winter season. Thank you very much to all the staff.

It had switched to the early-summer menu. Even when I’m worn out from work and forget the sense of the season, staying at Sunset Susami always lets me head home feeling a little more refreshed. The creative dishes made with fresh, seasonal local ingredients are wonderful, and the Onsen—with different temperatures depending on where you bathe—is always excellent. The building is always kept spotless whenever I visit, and even when staff change over, they carefully clean tables after meals. One of this Accommodation’s charms is how strongly you can feel the staff’s sincerity. The special dessert introduced this time—the Inazumi Roll made by a front desk staff member—was truly delicious. The sponge was moist, and it paired perfectly with coffee. (As expected from a former Dojima Roll pastry chef—it really is on another level.) That’s given me yet another reason to stay at Sunset Susami. I love that I can always relax here (lol).

The open-air bath I was most looking forward to was wonderful—I took the cable car up and enjoyed a relaxing soak while taking in the mountain views. There was also a Room where I could take a break, and tea was provided. I went in twice before dinner. The Room had been renovated and was very clean. Dinner was delicious, with local specialties and hearth-cooked dishes. I would like to stay here again.

This time, three of us stayed here with friends. First, when we arrived at the Accommodation, the view from the parking lot to the front desk was full of charm—absolutely wonderful—and instantly lifted our spirits. The staff were courteous and pleasant, and our Room was kept very clean. There are several Onsen baths available 24 hours a day, so we could soak and relax whenever we liked. I usually only go in once or twice, but I ended up going four times (laughs). Both dinner and breakfast were excellent—we were completely satisfied! We were able to spend a relaxing one night/two days and truly recharge. Thank you very much.

I stayed for one night. The Hotel and the Room were very clean, with thorough cleaning down to every detail, so I was able to spend my time comfortably. The Room was also spacious and very easy to relax in! All of the staff were warm and courteous, and I was very satisfied. The meals were delicious, and I could take my time enjoying them while chatting with friends. Thank you as well for accommodating ingredients I’m not comfortable with. Overall, it was a wonderful Hotel where I felt at ease and truly refreshed both physically and mentally. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Nara.
