Stay Inn Hotel Kamiyama

I stayed here on a business trip. It happened to be during the Hanagasa Festival, and I couldn’t book a Hotel in Yamagata City, so I chose this place—and it turned out to be an excellent decision!The Room was new and very clean, with the feel of a simple Business Hotel. Personally, I was a little disappointed that the floor was wood rather than carpet, but housekeeping was thorough and I had a comfortable stay.There is no bath in the Room, but there are three large public baths, each with an open-air bath and even a sauna—more than satisfying.The lobby offers free coffee, and I also appreciated the local wine and sake dispensers available for 500 yen per glass.Since I traveled by train, it took just under 15 minutes on foot from the station, and the limited number of trains made access slightly inconvenient. However, that was far outweighed by the excellent baths, the cleanliness of the Room, and above all the kind and pleasant service from all staff members.I would definitely like to stay here again.

I stayed here for the first time, arriving a day early for a business trip to Kaminoyama, and had a great stay.Check-in is at the same front desk as the lumber shop. When you enter the main entrance, the front desk is on your right. The Stay Inn Hotel Kaminoyama I made a Reservation for seems to be an extension of Stay Inn Hotels Zaimoku Sakaeya.It feels fairly new. The Room is on the small side, but it has a toilet and was clean and comfortable.There are three baths; at night, two are for men and one is for women, and they switch in the morning.There is an indoor bath and a semi-open-air bath. The water temperature is relatively high, but it was just right for me.There is also a sauna, with chairs available so you can relax afterward.Smoking is not allowed throughout the building, but there is a designated smoking area.Other Facility amenities include laundry machines and vending machines with juice, ice cream, beer, and shochu, plus a wine server where you can enjoy wine and sake.There’s also a mini kitchen area with a microwave and toaster, as well as a library corner.Dinner and breakfast are served in the dining area on the second floor.In my case I chose a Plan with breakfast included, so I used it in the morning.A tag with your Room number is prepared at your seat, and side dishes are already set out.After that it’s self-service: take rice, miso soup, drinks, Onsen eggs (hot spring eggs), nori seaweed sheets, salad—whatever you’d like.They also had Yamagata’s signature tama-konnyaku (konjac balls).It was more than enough for me.The staff were friendly as well—I really enjoyed the Onsen too. Overall it was an excellent Hotel.
