Akita Art Village Onsen Yuppopo

All Hotels around Akita Station were fully booked, so we ended up making a last-minute Reservation at this Ryokan.It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes by car from Akita Station, but it didn’t feel particularly inconvenient.However, since it was after the Kanto Festival, the drive to this Ryokan at night was quite scary on the dark roads.That said, the Onsen temperature was very comfortable.Breakfast here is buffet-style with a wide variety of Japanese dishes, and everything was delicious.I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Thanks to the “Dokoka ni Viewn” pass, I was able to travel to Kakunodate, and while searching for a place to stay I found this Accommodation. I had seen Reviews saying that getting to the bathing area requires going up and down stairs, but it wasn’t difficult at all. More than making up for it were the Onsen water quality and the warm, wood-filled atmosphere of the bath—both body and mind felt wonderfully warmed through. The highlight was dinner. The portions were so generous I couldn’t finish everything, and the cooking brought out the natural flavors of each ingredient. Hot dishes were served hot and at just the right timing, and everything tasted great. It’s rare at home to spend over an hour enjoying a meal like that. There was also an excellent selection of drinks, including local sake and local craft beer, and we were provided with a private dining room—making it a truly satisfying time. Breakfast the next morning also warmed my heart, especially the miso soup packed with ingredients. Overall, while some aging of the building is unavoidable, the meals were outstanding, and both the Onsen Facility and staff attentiveness offered exceptional hospitality—on par with a top-class Hotel. I’d love to visit again during snowy season. Thank you very much for everything this time.
