Ryokan Shinsen

Everything was taken care of, and we truly appreciated your hospitality. Every dish was outstanding, and the timing of each course was perfect. In particular, after enjoying the Takachiho beef, the tempura that followed surprised me—I thought I was too full to eat it, but one bite changed my mind. It was wonderfully crisp, not greasy at all, and pleasantly light. It was the best tempura I’ve ever had.Our room attendant was from overseas, and there were moments when Japanese was a little hard to understand, but they did their very best to look after us. Thank you very much.

We stayed for three nights in early September. The Room was spacious and very convenient to use, and the open-air bath in the Room was especially relaxing. All of the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming with warm smiles. What impressed us most was the outstanding food. Dinner in particular was just the right amount and perfectly suited to our tastes, and everything was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed Takachiho beef, Ozaki beef, and salt-grilled wild ayu—absolutely satisfying. We also loved hearing stories about food from the server, which made us truly glad we chose to stay here.The only thing that made us wonder a bit was the Room cleaning. When we returned from sightseeing on the third day, one of two thin bath towels we had brought from home had been put away and disappeared. Both towels had been hung on the towel rack together with your hotel’s named towels...We assumed that items hung on the towel rack would be left as they were, so we were surprised.Overall, however, it was a very comfortable stay, and thanks to you we had a wonderful trip to Takachiho. We would love to stay again in a different season.
