The floors throughout the Ryokan were comfortable to walk on barefoot, making it feel like home. I completely understood why rolling suitcases are not allowed. I could really appreciate the owner’s attention to detail, and I thought it was wonderful. The location was excellent, and the meals were delicious.

My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.

Dinner included some Western-style dishes as well, and everything was delicious. The lobby’s complimentary drinks offered a great variety, and we enjoyed plenty without hesitation. We thoroughly enjoyed the Room’s Onsen (gold and silver springs), sauna, and pool many times. Thank you very much. We look forward to visiting again in a different season to enjoy the meals and Onsen!

This was my first time visiting Amanohashidate, and thanks to all the staff, I had a truly wonderful stay. The Room—including the semi-open-air bath, comfortable changing area, spacious Japanese-style room, living area, and bedroom—was spotless and could not have been better. Everyone on the staff was kind and approachable. The meals were also excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private dining room with an ocean view, where we could relax and enjoy the sunset and evening atmosphere, as well as the sunrise in the morning. Every dish was carefully prepared, with gentle seasoning that we really appreciated. If there is one point for improvement, it would be that the bath water temperature felt a bit lukewarm. For the open-air bath in the Room, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the temperature. If I simply missed an operation panel, I apologize. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much for having us during our stay. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed our meals comfortably on a floor with a wonderful view. In particular, the handwritten message and lovely illustrations at breakfast were very soothing, and we truly felt the staff’s kindness. Thank you. Thank you as well for the Shuttle Service the following day. If there is a regular shuttle to the station, we would appreciate being able to use it on our return trip as well.

The food was excellent. Each dish had a unique local touch, and even though we ate until we were full, it didn’t feel heavy. We really appreciated the thoughtful hospitality. It was easy to ask for advice on how to spend our time, and this is an Accommodation we’d love to stay at again in a different season.\nThe stairs are steep, so you need to be careful, but I’d still like to bring my mother.

This was my first stay. A Hotel staff member explained that there were few guests today, so they upgraded my Room, and I was moved to an unexpectedly spacious Room. I was truly impressed. Breakfast included all-you-can-eat salmon roe—my favorite! I was really happy. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again next time. Thank you very much for everything.

We stayed as a group of two adults and three preschool children. The Accommodation was very clean, and the Room was spacious, so we could relax comfortably. We chose a Room with an open-air bath, which meant we could bathe anytime and then lounge on the bed or sofa—absolutely wonderful. The minibar was well stocked, with a great selection ranging from non-alcoholic drinks to wine, juice, and coffee. We could also borrow table games, and in the evening our family enjoyed playing Othello. Since we had a 0-year-old baby, we requested a baby bath and a diaper trash bin. Not only were those provided, but they also kindly placed baby soap for us as well, which we really appreciated. When I asked on the day if it would be possible to lay out futons in the Japanese-style Room, they gladly agreed and prepared them while we were at dinner. After going to the beach, there was an outdoor shower around the back with warm water available. It also connected to a rear entrance leading directly to the large public bath inside, so we were able to stay comfortable throughout our time in the Accommodation. The meals were delicious. They contacted us in advance about allergies and accommodated us accordingly, so we could dine with peace of mind. At mealtimes—without us even asking—they had already set up a bed where our baby could sleep. They also lent coloring books and toys so our older children wouldn’t get bored, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed meal for the first time in quite a while. One small but truly appreciated point: they provided towels generously. There were plenty of both bath towels and face towels in the Room, and after returning from the beach they handed us fresh bath towels for everyone along with clothes we had left at reception beforehand. There was no need to request extra towels at all—zero minor stress. All of the staff were pleasant and welcoming; it was a wonderful Accommodation full of hospitality. When we visit Amanohashidate again, we will definitely stay here. Thank you very much.

It was a lovely, hidden-gem Accommodation in a quiet, traditional seaside town. Both the front desk staff and the chef were warm and welcoming, making it a truly relaxing stay. The Room was cleaner and more spacious than expected, and the meals were delicious. The chef also recommended local sightseeing spots, which made our trip even better. Thank you very much.

The lobby level and shared areas were very stylish. The room wasn’t brand-new, but it was spacious with a great view, well cleaned, and very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything tasted excellent. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

Since I travel with my dog, I always stay in the same Room, and it is spacious and very comfortable. Even though it is clean, you can sleep with your dog on the bed, and there is also a fairly large crate provided—nothing to complain about. Also, all of the staff are very kind, which makes the stay even better.

I visited during Golden Week with two dogs. The Room was a Japanese-style room, but it was spacious and the dogs could run around. There is also a park nearby, and the Hotel is right in front of the quiet inner side of Amanohashidate, so it was great for peaceful walks. The meals were Japanese cuisine, and there was more than enough—we were completely full. There is also an open-air bath, and it was quiet and relaxing. It’s conveniently located close to both Ine’s Funaya boat houses and Amanohashidate, making them easy to visit.

We stayed in the Glamping Egg Suite for a birthday trip! As a birthday surprise, we arranged a cake and wine with the help of the Hotel staff. Thanks to their support, it became a truly wonderful birthday memory! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but we still had an amazing time and fully enjoyed our first barrel sauna experience. We’re truly grateful to the Hotel staff—thank you so much!

The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. The staff were kind, and the bath was great. The bath amenities included both body soap and a menthol option, which was especially appreciated in this hot season. There was also a proper hair dryer in the bath area, and we could really feel their thoughtful care. We stayed with our pet, and the owner clearly explained the rules and precautions, which made everything easy to understand. We had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

Your warm hospitality makes me want to visit again. The view from the room's window frames the nearby Amanohashidate and mountains like a painting, and I find myself gazing at it for a while. A course lavishly using the elusive Taiza crab with QR tags. It was my first time at an auberge, and instead of French or Italian, I felt the owner's care in the ingredients, sauces, broth, and cooking methods using local Japanese cuisine. I heard that Tango has a long history influenced by the continent, and the stories about local love, traditional Japanese culture, ingredients, and the origins of words were enjoyable, adding depth and imagination to the taste. There are valuable paintings and documents of Tango throughout the property. Thank you for the seaweed-colored (Miruiro) pouch from the Stays as a souvenir.

We stayed here over Golden Week with our daughter’s family. We had originally planned a relaxing trip just as a couple, but right before the trip our daughter’s family said, “We want to come too!”—so we ended up visiting as a large group at the last minute. The owner kindly added extra beds for us, which we truly appreciated. Since our grandchildren were with us, we had a barbecue in the garden at night. The owner even drove us to go shopping. Everything was fully provided, including charcoal and the full barbecue set. While looking out at Amanohashidate, we enjoyed dinner under the bright moon and countless stars you can’t see in Tokyo—it was amazing. The interior was very clean and stylish! For us as a couple considering renovations—and for our daughter and her husband who are thinking about buying a home—the layout, Facility features, decor, and fixtures were all inspiring, so we took lots of photos. As expected from an owner who is an architect—the design impressed us deeply. When traveling with 2- and 5-year-old grandchildren, we usually worry about disturbing other guests, but since we could rent the entire house exclusively, it was very easy and we could truly relax and enjoy ourselves. We would love to stay again. Next time, I think it would be nice for just the two of us to unwind in this stylish home and enjoy an elegant getaway.

It was a wonderful Facility where old and new, convenience and inconvenience, blended perfectly. The location couldn’t have been better—absolutely flawless. The food and wine selection was exactly what you’d expect: outstanding. The sea bream head from the previous day’s sashimi was served the next morning as a grilled dish, and it made me happy to think, “We meet again.” I had long wanted to visit Amanohashidate, and it turned out to be an unforgettable stay that exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend it to everyone. (On the way home we stopped by a winery and bought an additional half-dozen bottles; they kindly shipped them to our home together with the wine we purchased at the Accommodation.)

The dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the view was wonderful. The Room was very spacious, and I loved the interior design—it was beautiful and exactly my style. The washroom was large, with plenty of counter space to place clothes and other items, which made it very convenient. Even though it was a weekday, we were lucky to see fireworks. I highly recommend this place.

The unique, beautiful design was unlike anything else, and it was wonderful to catch the fresh scent of new wood here and there. The bath was spacious and open, so I could relax and take my time. The pool was smaller than I expected, but it seems perfect for a dip after the sauna! Spending a quiet night in such a clean villa made for a very satisfying stay. The only downsides were that the air conditioning on the second floor wasn’t very effective, making it uncomfortable to sleep, and I wished the kitchen had basics like salt and pepper, cooking oil, plastic wrap, and paper towels. Oda Sushi nearby was delicious, and there’s also a supermarket about 5 minutes away by car, which is really convenient. It feels like a villa you can enjoy at any time of year, so I’d love to come back. Thank you very much!

The other day, I had my annual “crab day” at Genmyoan again. This time they prepared Taiza crab for me, and I was able to enjoy it. It was three hours of satisfaction—satisfied, satisfied, truly satisfied. They do not serve hot pot dishes like “crab suki” here, and I agree that turning such great crab into a hot pot would be a waste. That is exactly why I keep choosing Genmyoan. They said it snowed quite a bit this year, but on my visit there was only a little snow left along the roadside. Genmyoan sits halfway up the mountain, and I believe it may be the only place with this kind of view looking down over Amanohashidate. The location is outstanding. As shown in the photos, being able to enjoy scenery that changes with time from your Room is very appealing. On the other hand, when it snows heavily, driving up the mountain road can be difficult. When I asked the proprietress this time, she told me that during severe snow they will come to pick guests up at Amanohashidate Station with rubber boots in the car. Being able to change into them at the station would be reassuring. (They provide Shuttle Service to the Accommodation regardless of snow.) Also, once you are past 70—even if it’s a once-a-year indulgent crab day—you may worry about not being able to finish everything. It seems they can adjust portions if you request in advance. If they can reduce the amount without compromising quality, you can keep enjoying it at any age. Because this relates to IKYU’s website meal listings and pricing, I do wonder how flexible such arrangements can be—but I would appreciate continued consideration for guests’ convenience. Lastly, their breakfast is also delicious: even when you feel you ate too much crab dinner-wise, you still end up overeating at breakfast. The Onsen has been refurbished and is clean. There is a tasting corner for chilled sake (you can sample and choose before dinner), and there is now a coffee room as well. There is also a room lined with CDs/DVDs/books from the owner’s personal collection; you can bring them back to your Room and enjoy them there. It feels like an Accommodation where each guest can find their own way to relax and have fun.
