Located by the harbor, the detached guest Room was quiet and relaxing. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable. The cuisine was excellent and truly enjoyable, starting with deep-fried tuna collar. We could also feel the staff’s attentiveness, and we had a pleasant stay.

We stayed for two nights with three generations, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied—not only with the magnificent views from the lobby and our Room, but also with the wonderful hospitality and delicious meals. The staff’s attentive, warm service and smiles were especially memorable, and we felt a gentle, clear, pleasant atmosphere throughout the Hotel. Shizuoka has many sightseeing spots, including a history museum that children can enjoy and Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo (this zoo has many thoughtful touches and is truly recommended), so every generation can have a great time. After check-out, we also went to Shimizu Port to enjoy dining and shopping. We visited several attractions including Toshogu Shrine, but there was so much to see that next time we would like to stay at this Hotel again and take more time to fully enjoy both the places we visited this time as well. This time, I stayed here with my elderly parents. It was our second stay in six months, and although the weather wasn’t on our side, we enjoyed everything—the meals, the lounge, and the activities. My parents were very satisfied with everything, including the atmosphere, and were truly delighted with this trip. We would love to stay again in the future.

We stayed for one night in a top-floor Room. The view from the windows was all ocean, and we could see both the sunrise and Mt. Fuji. The open-air bath also offered views of the ocean and Mt. Fuji—it was wonderful. The Hotel staff were very kind, and we’ve found a Hotel we want to keep coming back to for years to come!

We stayed with my parents, my spouse and I, our three children, and one dog. We arrived after 2:00 pm, and they kindly allowed us to check in. We stayed in two Rooms, Seiran and Gekpaku, and breakfast was served for all seven of us together in Seiran. For dinner, the seven of us gathered around the irori hearth to grill the ingredients we brought, enjoying a relaxed time together. It was also fun to use the Tuk-Tuk Shuttle Service to Mochimune Station and Mochimune Minato Onsen. The grassy garden and cool earthen-floor area were comfortable for our dog as well, making this a pleasant trip for the whole family. We would love to visit again in a different season.

I ordered a tuna rice bowl for dinner. It was piled high with huge slices of tuna—more than I could finish. The tuna slices at the Hotel I stayed at the next day looked disappointing in comparison. The Room is like a typical Business Hotel. Breakfast was also substantial. The staff worked efficiently, so I could eat in a relaxed atmosphere. They also had Earl Grey tea.

We always stay here when traveling with three generations, and we truly appreciate your hospitality. (It also feels nostalgic because my father worked here back in the Kanpo days!) Since the renovation, it has become even more comfortable for children, and we made more wonderful memories again this time. As part of the summer vacation program, our kids were thrilled right after arrival with the cardboard maze and the guests-only soft-serve ice cream and ice pops! At dinner, there were also summer-only treats like chocolate bananas and shaved ice—like a fun festival. They were set up so they couldn’t be seen from our seats at first, so after the kids finished their meal and we told them about it, they happily went to get some. We really like that both breakfast and dinner are served at the table rather than buffet-style, so we can relax and enjoy our meal. The dishes used Yaizu sashimi and rice, and we could feel the care put into the food. And we were absolutely full!!! The Onsen water quality has been great for years, and my mother and daughter were able to relax together. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, and had a welcome little visitor (a cicada)! The kids loved it (it was gone by morning). The staff at the front desk and shop were kind and helpful as well—this is a Hotel where we can feel safe and comfortable. If there were a Room that could accommodate six people, that would be perfect; from next time we will need to book two rooms. We would be very happy if there were an option where everyone could stay together. Thank you again for your continued support.

A beautiful dining room featuring a signature round window. The experience begins with auspicious handwritten messages for each guest, followed by an outstanding tuna course. To finish, carefully whisked matcha is served. The attentive care and hospitality—possible only at this small Accommodation limited to five parties per day—can only be described as superb. However, the portions are so large that it feels wasteful when guests cannot finish; slightly reducing the overall amount would likely increase satisfaction.

Only one drink of either beer or hoppy was included, but the all-you-can-drink alcohol option was great. Since we arrived late, it was disappointing that we couldn’t have the curry and natto (?). I wish they had refilled them as well. Also, the Room was spacious and clean.

It was a very comfortable Hotel. The staff were kind, and the Room had a calm atmosphere, which was great. One disappointing thing was that the refrigerator did not get cold at all.

Although it was a bit far from the station, there was a convenience store on the ground floor, which was very convenient. Facing a main road also made it easy to find. There is no large public bath or Onsen, but the in-room shower had been replaced with a Mirable showerhead, which felt new and nice. The amenity buffet was so well stocked that you could arrive empty-handed without any issues, and there were also pillows to choose from, so I could relax comfortably in an environment close to what I’m used to at home. On the front desk floor, there was a tea dispenser available at all times, and until 6:00 p.m., dumplings were provided as sweets. In addition, several kinds of obanzai and one alcoholic drink were served free of charge until 9:00 p.m., and I felt the complimentary services were very thorough. I booked the No Meals Included Plan but purchased a breakfast voucher on site and had breakfast as well. There was an excellent variety of Shizuoka-style items such as tuna sashimi, whitebait (shirasu), horse mackerel takikomi rice, and grilled eel (kabayaki), more than enough to leave me fully satisfied. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that there wasn’t an ice bucket provided in the room, so I ended up using paper cups at the ice machine, which was slightly inconvenient. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay.

From check-in to dining service, the hospitality was excellent and we were very satisfied. The wonderful service made the delicious food even better. The fish, meat, and vegetables were all high quality, and the dashi was flawlessly tasty. The matcha beer, Hyuganatsu beer, and sake (Nihonto) were also great. It was a very good Ryokan that I can recommend to anyone. If I have a chance to visit Shizuoka again, I’d like to stay here again.

Rather than just being near Miho no Matsubara, it felt like there was a Ryokan right within it. You can easily take a walk to Miho no Matsubara and the beach. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we enjoyed the scent of hinoki in the in-room bath. If I have the chance, I would like to stay again.

It felt like a cozy, homey hidden retreat, and we were able to relax at a very leisurely pace. Dinner was served in small portions, but each dish was carefully prepared, and we enjoyed a delicious meal that left us completely satisfied. Breakfast was beautifully presented in small bowls and felt just right for the morning, but we were surprised when grilled kama (fish collar) was served—though it was absolutely delicious. The owner and hostess were wonderfully warm and welcoming, which made our stay truly comforting.

It was a wonderful room. By the time we checked in, the hinoki bath was already filled, and we could soak as many times as we liked at any time until check-out. The room was also very spacious, and our child happily ran around. The bathing facilities were very large as well, with several types of open-air baths. There were so many great options that we couldn’t decide whether to use the bath in our room or go to the large public bath. The ganbanyoku (hot stone sauna), which is often an extra charge elsewhere, was included in the accommodation fee here, so it felt like excellent value for money. Our child was obsessed with the claw machines. Some could be played for 10 yen, 20 yen, or 30 yen per try, so while we usually can’t let them play that much, here they could really enjoy it to their heart’s content. They even won about 10 packs of Pokémon cards and were thrilled. We usually stay at places with buffet-style breakfast, but it was nice to have a set meal style once in a while. There are various outdoor areas where kids can play too. However, many facilities are only open on weekends and holidays, so that’s something to keep in mind. We stayed on Sunday, so our child got plenty of playtime and was very satisfied. We arrived around 2:00 PM, but rather than “relaxing,” it turned into a happily busy stay—“I want to go play outside!” “I want to take a bath!” “I want to try the claw machines!” “I also want to use the bath in our room!” It’s a place both adults and children can enjoy—we’d love to stay again.

This is a small, historic Accommodation, but it has been renovated, and the Room, bath, and dining area were all very clean. The dinner and breakfast featured plenty of local ingredients, with beautifully presented dishes and thoughtfully crafted flavors that truly showed what a kaiseki-style Ryokan can be. The tilefish matsukasa-yaki in particular was outstanding—crispy skin with rich, sweet flesh unlike anything I’d had before. The price was also very reasonable, which we really appreciated.
