A lot has happened recently, and my husband took the lead and worked hard through it all. Now that things have finally settled down, we chose to stay here so he—and our dogs—could relax and enjoy some carefree time together. My husband said he was happy to experience something out of the ordinary again after a long time! The food was delicious, and we were truly satisfied with everything, including the Hotel staff’s hospitality and their thoughtful care for our dogs. Thank you very much for giving us such a wonderful time!

Our family stayed for one night. The Room was very spacious and comfortable. Dinner showed great attention to detail, and the wonderful dishes truly brought out the natural flavors of the ingredients. Both the fish and meat were grilled fresh on the spot, so everything was absolutely delicious. The breakfast delivered to our Room also highlighted the ingredients just like dinner, and it was outstanding in both presentation and taste. Above all, every staff member was kind and welcoming, and we had a truly wonderful time. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a group of four—my elderly parents, my sibling, and me—who usually live apart. My parents were especially pleased with the heartfelt hospitality. The meals were excellent; I particularly enjoyed the dessert. We will visit again.

We stayed at Hakone Regina last year and loved it, so we chose this property. We had made a Reservation in February for our dog’s birthday, but heavy snow prevented us from coming, so this visit was our second attempt. It was a trip with my daughter, grandchild, and our dog. In Hakone we had in-room dining, but here meals are served in the restaurant. During dinner, we were able to have our dog sit in one of the carts provided by Regina, and she behaved wonderfully. She normally doesn’t ride in a cart, but she ended up loving it! The food was delicious, and since my daughter’s and grandchild’s birthdays were coming up, we ordered a tart cake. We were able to celebrate their birthdays as well, which became a truly wonderful memory. We also received photos. We could relax comfortably in the Room, and since there is an Onsen bath in the Room as well, we enjoyed that at a leisurely pace. The dog run also felt almost private—maybe there weren’t many other dogs—so we had a great time. The wood chips are gentle on their paws. On the way home, there was a pool set up so we let our dog swim, and she was thrilled! The life jackets and blower were very helpful. She dried quickly with minimal stress. Compared with Hakone last year, some of the staff service felt a bit cold this time. Maybe it was because there were more guests or because dining is in the restaurant rather than in-room? It would have been nicer if they had spoken to the dogs a little more. Also at Hakone before, the mattress was very comfortable and helped relieve fatigue; later I contacted them and bought the same brand mattress (Serta). This time it seemed like a different mattress brand/model than before, which was slightly disappointing. Next time I’d like to stay at another Regina property again. Thank you for all your help!

We stayed here for my husband’s birthday trip. Our Room faced Mt. Fuji, and the view was amazing—we could see Mt. Fuji clearly even from the open-air bath. The meals also included Mt. Fuji-themed dishes, which we enjoyed with all five senses. There was a fireworks festival at Lake Kawaguchi, and the hotel prepared special seating on the rooftop so we could watch comfortably. We were also able to make a Reservation for a surprise birthday cake through the website, and it was served at our requested time. The service was excellent, and we would love to stay again.

As with last year, everything was outstanding—from the staff’s hospitality and the meals to the baths and all Facilities. It also coincided with the fireworks festival, which made for a truly happy time.

Since my first stay around 2019, this has been my number one “Accommodation I want to return to.” Sometimes revisiting a wonderful Accommodation can be a little disappointing, but this time there was nothing like that at all—I was completely satisfied with every aspect of the stay once again. The Room had a natural interior with the warmth of wood and felt very comfortable, and the lobby was also a relaxing space surrounded by greenery. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like an escape from everyday life. Above all, the dining was outstanding. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the presentation and overall experience made it exciting—wondering what would come next was part of the fun. Even my partner, who doesn’t often say “delicious,” was genuinely impressed by the meat dish. Along with the meat’s natural sweetness and rich flavor, the pairing with the sauce was excellent—we were still talking on our way home about how truly delicious it was. It didn’t just meet expectations; it reminded me all over again how special this Accommodation is. We would love to visit again.

The website highlighted the dining, and indeed both dinner and breakfast were as beautiful and delicious as expected. The service was attentive, making our stay very comfortable. The view from the terrace is well worth seeing, so don’t miss it.

Because a Room was available, they upgraded me from the Room I had reserved to a newly renovated, more spacious Room. It was so spotless that I was genuinely surprised. The large public bath had three types of baths and a sauna, and since it was a weekday during the rainy season, I could enjoy it almost privately and relax at my own pace. The ReFa hair dryer, KEYUCA cups, and cute cushions made the Room feel especially appealing for women. I only met two staff members at check-in and check-out, but both were extremely courteous and helpful. I wasn’t traveling for sightseeing this time—I simply wanted an affordable Hotel where I could stay one night alone with access to an Onsen—but it was so comfortable that I’d love to stay again next year with my family.

Because I live in Kanagawa and this area is so close, I had never looked for Accommodation around here before. Thanks to IKYU, I was able to discover such a wonderful Accommodation so nearby. Although I had seen some comments from other guests complaining about the staff’s service, every member of the team provided warm, hospitality-filled service without exception, and I truly enjoyed my stay in the best possible mood. This is a very quiet Accommodation with only 16 Rooms, and there are Onsen not only in the Rooms but also private baths and a large public bath. The meals were plentiful and well balanced; we were delighted to enjoy grilled char (iwana) with salt and Koshu beef as well. The road leading to the Accommodation is narrow, but as it is the only property there, it felt like a hidden hot spring retreat—absolutely wonderful. Even in this time of labor shortages, an elderly staff member kindly took care of us attentively until the very end. Knowing how demanding it must be late at night and early in the morning left me deeply impressed. They even saw us off until we were completely out of sight. I would love to visit again; however, we were told that only 8 of the 16 Rooms are currently in operation, making Reservations difficult to secure. I am truly grateful for an unforgettable trip accompanied by the soothing sound of the river flowing throughout the night.

We chose this Hotel for the final stop of our trip, and the new Room, with its simple yet stylish interior and spacious bath, helped us forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious, and you could tell they were carefully prepared. The presentation was not overly flashy but tasteful, and we were very satisfied. Perhaps because everything was so well cleaned, the stately atmosphere of the classic building stood out even more, and simply being in places like the lobby or restaurant lifted our spirits. My husband’s birthday is coming up soon, so I mentioned it in advance; even so, we were deeply moved to receive a message on the dessert plate. For us as an older couple, your heartfelt hospitality made this a memorable trip. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff who assisted us.

Older Hotels often have the best locations, so we came looking forward to the stunning combination of Mt. Fuji and Lake Yamanaka—and it was exactly as expected. Because the Hotel is built on higher ground, there is nothing to block the view of Mt. Fuji, and the panorama is outstanding. And on top of that, even during the Obon holiday period, we were upgraded to a suite—thank you very much. When I woke up in the morning and opened the large terrace window, after the previous day’s cloudy weather, a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji suddenly appeared before us. It was a birthday trip with my 92-year-old mother, and she was absolutely delighted. In the evening we enjoyed a full-course French dinner. The staff were pleasant, and everything was delicious. We also visited the café—the dessert made with an entire peach cost just 1,000 yen including tax and service charge! It was incredibly tasty, great value, and we were very satisfied. The building is undeniably old, but our stay was very comfortable. Lake Yamanaka may be less well-known among the Fuji Five Lakes, but it’s quiet and we really loved it. We would like to visit again in autumn to enjoy the fall foliage.

The staff provided courteous service, and we had a very comfortable stay. Dinner was especially delicious, and we were able to enjoy it at a relaxed pace in our Room. We visited to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and after I mentioned it in advance, they kindly served a dessert with “Happy Birthday” chocolate on the plate and even prepared a wonderful gift—we were truly touched. The lounge was spacious, with a great selection of drinks and snacks, which we really enjoyed. The private lounge also had massage chairs, making it easy to unwind. We also enjoyed the large public bath area, including both the open-air bath and the indoor bath. From the rooftop public bath, we could see Mt. Fuji beautifully—it felt amazing. It was a lovely Accommodation full of thoughtful touches. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We made a same-day Reservation during the busiest season on 8/15, and the staff were outstanding and treated us with great care. Our Room was on the Mt. Fuji view side, and both the room and windows were clean, so we had a very comfortable stay. When we saw Mt. Fuji in the clear morning sky, my spouse and I were truly moved! We were also satisfied with the dinner and breakfast buffet. Above all, the staff were exceptional, and we would definitely like to visit again.

We stayed in mid-April 2026. The meals were very satisfying, with a wide variety of dishes and generous portions. For wine, there were several half-bottle options, which we appreciated since a full bottle is too much for us to finish. Many of the staff were from overseas, but everyone spoke excellent Japanese and even recommended spots with great views of Mt. Fuji. It’s hard to deny that the building and Facility are old. Those who want to relax without leaving the Accommodation may find it lacking, but for us—just eating, taking a bath, and sleeping—it felt like excellent value for money.

The food was absolutely delicious. The Room was clean, and all the staff were courteous, so I was able to relax and enjoy a quiet stay. Thank you very much.

From the moment we arrived, this was a special entire-home rental Hotel that felt less like “staying overnight” and more like truly inhabiting the space. The view of Oku-Kawaguchiko through the large windows changed throughout the day: in the evening, a quiet lake surface with shadows of trees; at night, forest air with almost no sound; and in the morning, soft light streaming onto a misty lake. It was the kind of place where you just want to keep watching the scenery. The interior felt luxurious yet calming, with thoughtful details in everything from lighting and furniture to sound. It naturally made us want to slow down—cooking with a beer in hand, enjoying fresh air on the terrace after the sauna—and even while spending time together, there was an unhurried sense of space. What stood out most was the morning kayaking experience. Paddling out onto a quiet Lake Kawaguchi before many people were around felt incredible. The water was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains and forest. It felt less like sightseeing and more like we were floating alone in nature—easily my most memorable moment of this stay. The Facility side was also very comfortable: with well-stocked kitchenware and amenities, we could enjoy high-quality time without much preparation. This isn’t just an Accommodation for sleeping—it’s a place where the experience itself changes depending on the season and how you spend your time. Next time I’d love to do a Multiple Night Stay and soak up this atmosphere even more slowly.

This home is very clean and well maintained. The bathroom and basin areas are spacious, and the sauna allows löyly; you can also adjust the heat, which we were very satisfied with. The cold plunge uses cold Mt. Fuji water, and you can relax during outdoor cooling on the wooden terrace. The wooden terrace feels open and is not visible from surrounding areas, so you can enjoy the sauna with complete peace of mind. We stayed with No Meals Included and used the kitchen. The tableware and cooking utensils were all fine to use. Seasonings such as salt, salt & pepper, oil, and soy sauce are also provided. There is also a complimentary drinks service, and we were very satisfied with how thoughtful and attentive the host-owner was.

We stayed with no meals included, and it was the perfect choice for us to enjoy quality time together without worrying about others. The highlight was being able to use the irori (traditional Japanese hearth). We brought meat and ingredients we picked up along the way and slowly grilled them over the charcoal fire of the irori. The aroma of the charcoal was delightful. We also made a hot pot, and it was convenient that all necessary cooking utensils were provided. Cooking together created enjoyable moments as well. Of course, the sauna was fantastic too. With ponchos provided, we could even enjoy an outdoor cool-down session in chilly weather. Although it's a traditional Japanese house, it has been tastefully renovated. The facilities like plumbing and air conditioning are well-maintained, making it clean and comfortable to stay in. The historical earthen floor area is charming as well—every corner is picture-perfect. We’re looking forward to visiting other accommodations by Ruuf that we haven’t been to yet!
