The Facility was clean and the Room had a great natural feel. We were worried because it rained throughout our trip, but since the BBQ was on a covered terrace, we could enjoy it without concern. By the time we finished the BBQ, the rain had stopped, and we enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the campfire. We were a bit anxious about self check-in, but it was easy to do. It turned into a very memorable trip, and we were really happy with our stay. We would love to stay again.

My spouse, our daughters, and our grandchild stayed here and were very well taken care of. Twin-bed Japanese-Western Room with breakfast and dinner included Separate bath and toilet, two TVs The Room was very spacious and comfortable. You make your own futon. Dinner was prepared in the Room. We were able to eat together at a relaxed pace. Steamed pork and lots of vegetables in a bamboo steamer Rice, three small side dishes, and bite-sized dessert (kuzumochi). Miso soup and tea were brought in a pot. For our grandchild: omurice, potato soup, and vanilla ice cream. There was a slightly larger fridge (freezer on top, refrigerator below), so even guests without meals could stock ingredients for cooking. Cooking utensils and plastic wrap were provided. There were separate trash bins for bottles/cans and burnable waste. There was a DVD player, and many DVDs were available to borrow in the lobby. On the balcony there were chairs and an ashtray. The women’s bath had four washing stations. Shampoo etc. were provided. Hair dryers were available (Dyson and ReFa). There is also a water dispenser. Breakfast was delicious too: Bread, rice, curry, scones, yogurt, dashi ochazuke, etc. On the 1st floor there is the dining area, baths, laundry area, ice machine, vending machines, table tennis, massage chairs— all free to use. There was also a kids’ room. Our grandchild played on the day we arrived and played plenty until check-out the next day. There was a large TV and lots of Yogibo cushions/beanbags. It was our first time staying at this type of Accommodation, but it was really great. Some guests were having BBQs in the garden as well. We’d like to come again. However, maybe because the elevator doors are slightly misaligned, they made an extremely loud roaring noise every time they opened or closed. It made us a bit worried. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

It was a very clean Ryokan. I could walk around barefoot comfortably and had a pleasant stay. They provided black tabi socks for indoor use, but since they were unisex, the men’s size seemed small (lol), so I stayed barefoot. The meals were just as described in the Reviews—very satisfying. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. I’d love to stay again. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

We visited for a family trip, and this was our third stay at Roof. Our whole family loves it here (the atmosphere is amazing). The meals are very hearty, and we turned the rice into onigiri to make grilled rice balls in the morning. The teppanyaki-style meals were also enjoyable. The sashimi konjac was so delicious that we bought some to take home. We’d love to visit other locations as well and try them all! (laughs)

An amazing location surrounded by breathtaking nature. In the morning, we took a walk with the kids through the great outdoors, spotting animal tracks and even wild squirrels and deer. It was a magnificent experience you can’t get in everyday life. What makes SANU special is being able to enjoy it all with peace of mind. From helpful communication before our Reservation to well-maintained Facilities and equipment, plus advance information about the surrounding area, there’s plenty of support to help you stay comfortably. Our whole family was able to enjoy this extraordinary experience with confidence.

Affordable, yet still glamping.

We visited Lake Yamanaka again for the first time in a while on a family trip. The gas BBQ grill was very easy to use, and we enjoyed BBQ every night during our stay. There were three adults in our group, but it might feel a bit small for four people. The dog amenities were well stocked, including welcome treats, making this an Accommodation that is very dog-friendly. Our toy poodle also seemed to have a great time. With a great location and beautiful views, we could enjoy BBQ while taking in the scenery. Lake Yamanaka is right in front of the Accommodation, so we took morning walks and spent a relaxing time overall. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here the day before the Yamanakako Marathon. I had a comfortable stay, and the bath was especially nice. Next year, I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay.

Check-in is between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. After receiving a brief explanation, the hotel staff left, allowing us to enjoy a completely private space for a luxurious experience. This time, we did not hire a private chef but brought our own wine and food for dinner. Every item and piece of furniture is carefully selected, creating an atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time to a historical drama. You can rent out this incredibly luxurious space exclusively. The bedroom is also meticulously designed, and from the second-floor bedroom, you can wake up to an amazing view of Lake Kawaguchi right in front of you—a perfect location. For Onsen lovers, you can use the Onsen at the nearby Ashiwada Hotel. While I didn’t use it myself, my companion did and said both the indoor bath and open-air bath were fantastic. As for drawbacks, there are no izakayas or shops nearby where you can casually walk out to dine or shop. Renting out this secluded traditional house for multiple nights would make for an exceptionally luxurious trip (this time we stayed one night but would love to stay longer next time when we have more time). Since it’s still newly opened, prices are quite affordable now; however, I predict they will gradually increase over time (it feels too cheap at the moment). We stayed as four adults this time and everyone was extremely satisfied—we’ve already decided to visit again in September! Unfortunately, due to bad weather this trip, we couldn’t try kayaking; next time we hope to challenge ourselves with early morning kayaking while enjoying views of Mount Fuji reflected on the water!

Since I made the Reservation at the last minute, I stayed just for an overnight stop. There was an issue at the front desk because my Reservation wasn’t on the list, but I was later told it had been found. It seemed to be a Ryokan that used to be a former public lodge. The Room size and bath size were just right, and the kids were happy. Despite the hiccup, the proprietress was friendly and easy to talk to, so we had a comfortable stay. I was concerned there wasn’t a hair dryer in the bath area, but one is available to borrow, so it wasn’t a problem. The view of Mt. Fuji from the window was absolutely beautiful. It was only one night, but it was a fun trip. Thank you very much.

It was a small, cozy Accommodation. The hospitality was warm. I wish the amenities had been a bit more complete, but I enjoyed the breakfast. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

Initially, I made a Reservation without dinner to attend a live concert at Kawaguchiko Stella Theater, but the Accommodation kindly provided a Shuttle Service to the theater. This allowed me to have dinner at the Accommodation as well, and I was very satisfied. It was extremely disappointing that Mt. Fuji was not visible at all due to the rain.

The meals were simply the best. The homemade pizza and tart are a must-try. Heating appliances are installed in all rooms, so there was no trouble keeping warm. Additionally, there are clothes drying appliances, which were helpful for drying clothes wet from the heavy rain. I stayed with my pet. The availability of cages, food bowls, and toilet sheets was helpful. The staff were friendly and provided excellent hospitality, which was satisfying.

Everyone was delighted with the view of Mount Fuji right in front of us. The meat served during the meal was tender and satisfying at 200g. From the bath in the Room, a first-grader was overjoyed by the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji. The Hotel itself was quiet and peaceful.

I planned a trip on short notice and looked for accommodation while keeping costs as low as possible. The only drawback was that the room did not have a private bathroom or toilet, but it was not a major issue. Since the price was low, I did not have high expectations for the meals, but I was pleasantly surprised in a good way. Both breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety and were very delicious, leaving me completely satisfied. It is an accommodation I would love to stay at again when visiting the area.

We stayed as a family, and what we loved most was the completely private space that comes with renting an entire house—so we could relax without worrying about anyone around us. The location at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Lake Yamanaka was also very appealing, and we truly enjoyed a luxurious time surrounded by nature. The spacious living room and well-equipped kitchen made it easy to unwind as if we were at home, and the seasonal scenery outside the windows was incredibly soothing. We took our time enjoying the fresh air in the large garden and greenery, and had fun cooking for ourselves in the kitchen—it really felt like staying at a vacation home. The freedom to wake up, eat, and spend our days on our own schedule was perfect for a family trip. It was also impressive how innovative the system was that allowed us to check in and check out smoothly without meeting staff in person. The bedding was comfortable and we slept very well, and it was reassuring that insect-repellent items were thoroughly provided. There were fewer insects than expected, which made our stay even more comfortable. It’s also conveniently located as a base for sightseeing around Lake Yamanaka, and it was a wonderful Accommodation where you can enjoy the special feel of an upscale private villa rental. We’d love to stay again and highly recommend it.

The Accommodation was located on the shores of Lake Yamanaka and offered a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji. The showers and toilets were shared, but they were well cleaned, and combined with the affordable rate, it was not an issue at all. I was also able to sleep soundly.

Although it’s an older building, it was very clean and well maintained. Best of all, the view of Mt. Fuji is spectacular! The service was excellent, and thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. We’ll be back!
