We stayed here for our silver wedding anniversary trip. Every meal was delicious!! The in-room open-air bath was wonderful, and we were able to relax in the Japanese-Western style Room, which we were very satisfied with! They even prepared a celebratory plate during dinner—it truly made for a happy one-night stay! Thank you very much. We were also happy that the drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary! We would love to stay here again when we visit Hakone!

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

With only a small number of Rooms, we were able to enjoy the Facility without much contact with other guests. As for the baths, we were able to take our time and enjoy all of them—the private open-air bath, the in-room open-air bath, and the in-room indoor bath. We’d also like to try the stone sauna next time. There were hours when we could use the lounge for beer, alcohol, coffee, and more. Although we couldn’t make it for cocktail time, we still made good use of it. It would be even better if the lounge stayed open a little later. Every dish had a gentle flavor and there was an impressive variety; everything was delicious and beautifully presented, so we enjoyed it with our eyes as well. Being able to choose three desserts ourselves was also great. Because we could dine at a relaxed pace, the portions felt just right and everything was very tasty. The Room was so clean that it didn’t feel like 15 years had passed at all, and we stayed very comfortably. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the wash area was a bit small. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as having separate towels prepared for the open-air bath and the indoor bath. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed the heartfelt cuisine at both dinner and breakfast. From the ingredients and preparation to the tableware, service, and explanations of each dish, every aspect of the dining experience was highly satisfying. Including the Onsen, our Room, and the attentive hospitality of all staff members, everything from check-in to check-out fully matched what my spouse and I expect from an Onsen Ryokan, making our stay truly comfortable. We usually travel as a couple a few times a year, mainly to Hakone, but this time we stayed one night at “Rinpo Kiryū” for our first family trip, including several celebrations. We have had the chance to visit many Accommodations, but we have never encountered one as wonderful as this—everything from start to finish was truly moving. We arrived about an hour before check-in time, yet we were warmly welcomed without hesitation. From the lovely commemorative photos for our celebration to the heartfelt message card with a photo, we were touched by the surprise hospitality and thoughtful care. We are genuinely grateful to have made so many unforgettable memories for our family trip. Thank you very much. Above all, what deserves special mention is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. From greeting us on arrival to seeing us off at the end, every moment was outstanding, and we were able to spend a truly relaxing time. Our assigned staff member was incredibly kind and always smiling; we enjoyed chatting with them, and our whole family was impressed by their attentive care down to the smallest details. The guidance around the property—like a paradise far removed from everyday life—was also thorough and considerate, and everyone we met greeted us with warm smiles that put us at ease. The Room was very spacious and kept beautifully clean. The bed was also ideal for us—comfortable without sinking in or feeling overly soft. (My wife is quite particular about beds and rarely says this at other Accommodations; I was surprised when she said she wanted to stay another night and didn’t want to go home yet.) During our stay, there was a private open-air Onsen bath exclusively for our Room with free-flowing water from 100% natural source spring water—no added water or heating—from the rare Dogashima Onsen source said to be “legendary,” so we could enjoy an Onsen soak anytime we liked. In addition, there is an indoor hinoki Onsen bath, a private sauna, and even a pool, which allowed our family to enjoy many different experiences together. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; each dish was beautifully presented with great care and full of creative ideas from the chef. There were also many staff members on hand—the service felt perfect. In my experience so far, it’s rare to find an Accommodation where service is this attentive in every respect. More than anything else, being able to stay at “Rinpo Kiryū” became a wonderful experience for our family. Thank you again very much. We would love to visit again.

Check-in via tablet was smooth, and the service was just right, making the stay very comfortable. We were worried the meals might not be enough, but for our age group it was just the right amount and we finished almost everything. The food was delicious. The Room with a semi-open-air bath felt a bit small, but it was well cleaned and we had a pleasant stay.

We had another wonderful stay. No matter which Fufu Accommodation we visit, we are always delighted by the consistently heartfelt hospitality and the truly careful, delicious cuisine. At Fufu Hakone this time as well, we were soothed by the warm welcome from all the staff and were able to enjoy a relaxing, luxurious time. An Accommodation that makes you want to come back—Fufu is still number one for me. This time, we also made use of a wonderful IKYU benefit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I am truly grateful for this special opportunity. We will do our best in everyday life and look forward to coming back to Fufu again. Thank you very much.

Having stayed with our dog at many luxury hotels in Japan and abroad, this was—without exaggeration—one of the very best stays we’ve ever had, easily competing for No. 1 or No. 2. If I were to compare it internationally, it was so exceptional that I genuinely couldn’t decide whether it surpasses the Manor at Capella Singapore. It was a stunning detached villa suite that stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s top luxury hotels. We stayed for two nights from 9/20 as a family of three with our dog. Because a typhoon was approaching, we arrived earlier than planned, but the staff handled everything politely and smoothly and escorted us to our room about two hours earlier than the standard check-in time. Before our stay, I read every review on Ikkyu, and it felt like many of the past concerns had been addressed. I was also impressed by how sincerely they seem to take guest feedback. Since this two-night stay cost around JPY 1,000,000, I was slightly worried about whether the experience would truly match the price—but the sense of exclusivity in Annex (No.100) exceeded all expectations. The dedicated parking space, an approximately 300㎡ private dog run, a two-story/two-bedroom layout, in-room dining available exclusively for this room, complimentary champagne and free drinks in the refrigerator, and private dining rooms when using the restaurant—all of these thoughtfully differentiated touches made perfect sense for what we paid. The meals were especially outstanding—clearly a level above any hotel we’ve stayed at before. The matsutake course and clay-pot rice were exquisite, and on our second night they prepared an entirely different menu from the first day. To truly experience RETONA at its best, I strongly recommend staying at least two nights—and if possible in this villa suite (though I’m sure their other rooms are wonderful as well). It became an unforgettable three days worthy of celebrating my daughter’s 12th birthday and our dog’s 6th birthday. We are deeply grateful to all staff members for their attentive support throughout—including their thoughtful email communication before arrival. If I may mention just one small request: there was a spider web on the ceiling above the sink area. We fully understand that insects are common given the lush natural setting—and it was something we could remove ourselves—but checking even higher areas would make everything even more perfect. Next time we will definitely return as a family to stay in the same room again in spring or summer to enjoy seasonal dishes in another season. This has become one of my favorite luxury hotels—thank you very much indeed.
