The meals were luxurious and delicious, the Room was spotless, and the bath was wonderfully relaxing—there was nothing to complain about. The staff member in charge was very friendly and kind, so we felt completely at ease throughout our two-day stay. The massage was excellent as well; even though the weather wasn’t great, it didn’t bother us at all, and it turned into a truly satisfying trip. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

Staying at an inn with only three rooms really made me realize how that allows them to serve truly exceptional cuisine. The room we stayed in, “Korin,” had the bath and washbasin located outside the main room, which was a bit inconvenient. However, it comes with a dedicated dining room, so you can focus on the meal right away without leaving your room—and each dish is served at exactly the right moment. It’s been a long time since I so strongly appreciated the happiness of eating hot food while it’s still hot. From the appetizer through the lidded dish and assorted starters to the grilled course, every item brought out the full flavor of its ingredients. The grilled steak in particular surprised me: I honestly didn’t have high expectations for Tochigi Wagyu (sorry!), but it was incredibly tender, with a perfect balance of fat and lean meat. To be frank, we went to a famous steak restaurant in Nikko for dinner the next day, and this steak easily held its own against their Maezawa beef. The finishing soba was also excellent—I regret not ordering a larger portion. They serve two dipping sauces, one warm and one cold; personally, I recommend the cold one. I’m attaching a photo of breakfast as well—breakfast was wonderful too. If I have another chance to visit, I’d love to stay in a different room next time. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay at this Hotel, and once again everything was perfect. The hospitality is outstanding, and every member of the staff is truly impeccable. The interior design is tasteful, the meals are delicious, and I highly recommend this Hotel. Having lived abroad for many years and stayed at many top-class Hotels around the world, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is one of my favorites.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days with three relatives. In a word, it was a wonderful Accommodation. The restaurant meals were especially excellent—seasonal, creative dishes that we could enjoy both visually and in taste. The chef’s ideas are outstanding. All of the service staff were warm and welcoming, making our dining time even more enjoyable. I felt that whether the meals at an Accommodation are good or not almost determines whether the trip was great. Of course, both the Room and the bath were also very good. If I had to mention one small point, the amenities were from a brand with a very distinctive fragrance. Preferences may vary, but personally I felt there might be other options that would suit this Accommodation as well. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

We stayed at this Accommodation on our first trip as three generations of our family because in-room dining was available. It’s close to the station, and both the exterior and the lobby were very clean, giving us a great impression at check-in. The proprietress and all the staff were truly kind and provided warm, thoughtful service. The Room, meals, bath, and service were all excellent—we were completely satisfied with this Hotel. Above all, the hand towels had such a wonderful fragrance that we even asked the proprietress about it at check-out. It was a deeply relaxing trip that we enjoyed immensely.

We stayed in a top-floor room. This hotel truly takes care of everything. Even though it was raining, we enjoyed the open-air bath with a sky-high view, the large public bath, and the in-room hot spring. The variety at the dinner buffet was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The made-to-order Mont Blanc prepared in the morning was delicious too. The staff were very courteous. The amenities were also exceptionally well stocked, and I debated buying the hot-spring-made cosmetics at the gift shop but decided against it—however, they were so good that I ended up ordering them online. It’s a hotel where one night just isn’t enough. I’d love to book again for my birthday next year! We’ll be back.

The private bath was especially amazing! The water quality and atmosphere were wonderful, and it was truly relaxing. Lately, many hotels have a lot of foreign staff, and sometimes subtle nuances don’t come across, but here all the staff are Japanese, so the service was very attentive and made us feel at ease. Highly recommended!

I stayed here on a solo trip. It is a small Accommodation, but every detail is thoughtfully cared for, and I had a very comfortable stay. Ikebana arrangements were displayed throughout wherever my eyes fell, and I could really feel the Accommodation’s hospitality. The meals—especially the vegetables—were delicious, and since they were served in my Room, I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. I left the Accommodation sincerely thinking, “I want to stay here again!” Thank you very much.

We checked in after doing some shopping at a nearby AEON. The Accommodation had everything we needed for cooking, including a pot and even a small hot plate, so it was easy to prepare meals (though you’ll need to bring your own seasonings). Complimentary drinks were also stocked in the refrigerator. Since it was our child’s birthday, we projected a birthday video with the projector and celebrated—it was a huge hit. The third-floor bath was spacious, and the Onsen water made it incredibly relaxing. The first-floor sauna was low-temperature, so my husband found it a bit mild, but I enjoyed taking my time and felt very satisfied. There was also a table on the balcony where we could relax, so we had breakfast there. Overall, everything was very clean, and having a washing machine was really helpful—everything about our stay was great. It’s an Accommodation we’d love to visit again.

We drove from Chiba. As an older couple, we chose this Onsen Accommodation so we could leave at a relaxed pace and truly unwind. It was a wonderful place that exceeded our expectations. The detached Room, the bath, and the meals were all outstanding. The meal included an impressive number of dishes, but each portion was thoughtfully sized, so even we were able to finish everything. The next day, we enjoyed the gentle Onsen three times and headed home unhurriedly. This is now on our list of places we definitely want to visit again.

The building was simply wonderful. We stayed in the detached Room “Gion” with an open-air bath, and it was very spacious with high ceilings; the dark brown beams and pillars gave it a charming atmosphere. There were two semi-double beds, and they were fluffy and very comfortable. The in-room open-air bath was spacious and amazing (the view would likely be especially beautiful in late autumn or when it’s snowy—though getting there might be a bit challenging). Dinner was also very delicious.

It was a truly wonderful Accommodation where we could stay comfortable throughout our visit. Everything was impeccably clean, and from the moment we stepped into the Room, we felt at ease. The meals we had been looking forward to were outstanding in both presentation and taste for both dinner and breakfast, and we enjoyed them very much. The baths were also a highlight—not only the open-air private hot spring bath with its wonderful sense of openness, but also the cypress bath in the Room, where we could stretch out to our heart’s content while surrounded by the soothing scent of wood. Everything about our stay was excellent and became a great memory. We would definitely like to stay again. One last question: the towels smelled so lovely and were very relaxing! If you don’t mind, would it be possible to tell us which fabric softener you use?

On my way back from a business trip to Tokyo, I planned a visit to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which I had long wanted to see. I stayed one night at an Accommodation in Kinugawa Onsen. I chose it after searching with conditions such as having an in-Room Onsen bath and being reasonably priced. The lobby was well maintained, and the hallways were very clean as well. Our Room had an Onsen bath and two separate rooms, so my wife went to the large public bath while I enjoyed the in-Room bath. The meals were very delicious, and the portions were just right—slightly on the generous side. It was a quiet Accommodation where I could relax in the Onsen, which was wonderful. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but everyone was polite and courteous. One thing that concerned me was that when I opened the window by the in-Room bath, there were quite a few spider webs. Also, insects gathered on the window at night so we couldn’t open it; I thought that if there had been a screen door or similar, we could have opened it. If I have another chance to visit nearby, I would like to stay again.

We stayed here as a couple.\n\nWe had been interested in this Accommodation for some time, and after actually staying, it exceeded our expectations. Above all, the milky-white free-flowing Onsen from the source was outstanding, and soaking at a leisurely pace felt truly luxurious. We also enjoyed the private open-air bath together without any worries, which became a wonderful memory.\n\nBoth dinner and breakfast featured carefully prepared dishes that made the most of local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied with both the taste and portion sizes. Everything at both meals was delicious, and we were impressed to enjoy freshly made dishes served piping hot.\n\nThe staff’s hospitality was warm, with thoughtful attention to detail throughout our stay, making it very comfortable. The Room was clean and had a calm atmosphere, allowing us to slowly unwind from everyday fatigue.\n\nThe Onsen, cuisine, and hospitality were all excellent—we were satisfied in every way. This is an Accommodation we would highly recommend to couples looking to enjoy a relaxing Onsen trip.\n\nThank you very much for everything. As my parents have gotten older and we don’t know how many more trips we’ll be able to take together, I invited my brother and brought my daughter for a family trip. Because my mother has rheumatoid arthritis, we chose this Accommodation on the conditions that the Room had an open-air bath and that all five of us could stay in the same Room. It turned out to be far better than we imagined. We arrived late for check-in, but we were warmly welcomed and given a courteous explanation. Women can choose their preferred yukata pattern to wear inside the Accommodation. The lobby offered complimentary drinks including alcohol; I had a drink for the first time in 10 years, and it was delicious. There were also three kinds of cookies, all of which we enjoyed. Many of the staff were young, and everyone provided very polite service. Because the Accommodation is small and intimate, we rarely ran into other guests, which allowed us to relax completely. Every meal was excellent. Thank you as well for accommodating my child’s allergies. For breakfast, they served a Western-style option for children, so there were many items my child could eat, which made us very happy. Both the Room and the open-air bath seemed new and were spotless—there is nothing to complain about—but above all else, the view is outstanding. The river flows right in front of you, and you can enjoy it almost privately not only from the lobby but also from your Room. We were truly moved by it. We heard that peak autumn foliage is around early November, so next time I would like to make a Reservation around then if possible. If I may make one request: I would appreciate it if cleansing oil could be provided in the Room. When I asked at reception they kindly brought it right away so it wasn’t an issue in practice; however, some guests may use only the in-room open-air bath without going elsewhere, so I hope you will consider it. Lastly, thank you very much for helping us create such wonderful memories on this trip.

This was my first time staying here. Many of the staff are young and from overseas, but their Japanese is excellent, and I was amazed by how exceptionally polite and attentive their service was. Above all, you can really feel how hard they work. I had a very pleasant stay. In particular, the young woman who explained the meals and the man at the front desk during check-in—both were foreign nationals—and they were simply outstanding. The Ryokan itself has a wonderful traditional atmosphere, and I was very satisfied. We stayed to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, and she was delighted as well! Next time, I’d like to bring my daughter.

A family trip with my parents. I contacted the Ryokan to request Shuttle Service, and they kindly explained everything in detail, which left a great impression from the start. The service, meals, and baths were all excellent, and my parents were truly delighted. At 78, my parent even tried a food for the first time and enjoyed it so much they finished it all. Even after we got home, they kept telling customers about the Ryokan whenever they had the chance since they run a business. I’m glad I was able to take them—it was clearly a very satisfying stay.

We stayed at Kinugawa Onsen “Kizuna” from July 31 to August 2, 2026 (2 nights/3 days). We checked in with two adults, one child, and two Chihuahuas. I thought I had made a Reservation for a Room without an open-air bath, but due to what seemed to be a communication issue, we were instead shown to a Room with an open-air bath (a lucky surprise). Having an open-air bath in the Room meant we could enjoy the Onsen anytime, day or night, and our whole family had a truly happy time. For every meal (breakfast and dinner), we were able to dine in a private room (rather than the usual shared dining area). The menu changed each time, so we looked forward to every meal and headed there excitedly. Each dish was refined and absolutely delicious. With drinks as well, we felt completely satisfied after every meal. By chance, the Nikko Fireworks Festival was held on Saturday, August 8, and we were able to enjoy spectacular fireworks from our Room as well (another lucky moment). Above all else, what made our stay so comfortable was the attentive service from the manager and staff members—and their genuine hospitality in accommodating guests’ requests. That level of professionalism seemed to fill the entire Ryokan, allowing guests to relax completely and enjoy an exceptional experience. For three days, we fully enjoyed an extraordinary getaway both physically and mentally. It may sound childish, but it was such a wonderful Ryokan that I didn’t want to leave—I wanted to stay forever. Everyone in our family kept saying “Let’s come again,” so we will definitely return. My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who took care of us at “Kizuna.” Thank you very much for everything.

It was excellent. The meals were delicious. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source, and the water temperature was just right.

Due to our schedule, we checked in late and stayed without meals this time, but we chose this property because it has four private baths. Both the building and the rooms were clean, and it exceeded our expectations. We chose Yunishigawa without much research, but the two people traveling with me were also satisfied and said it was great. Next time, we plan to book with meals and stay again with a more relaxed itinerary—we’re already looking forward to our next trip. Thank you very much.
