I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

We reserved the Luxury D-type Room as a couple. We love traveling and visit great Accommodations all over Japan, and from the moment we arrived by car until we were seen off, we had a truly wonderful stay. First of all, the Accommodation was spotless. The staff’s greetings were excellent. Mainly during meals, international staff assisted us and did their best to explain each dish using challenging Japanese. The Room was also very clean—we were thrilled! Unfortunately it was cloudy, but even so, the view from the open-air bath was amazing. Including the large public bath and private baths, I can’t even count how many times we soaked in the baths... The dinner and breakfast were both delicious—we were completely full. Thank you for such a comfortable time. We would love to visit again.

Being welcomed back with “Welcome home” always puts me at ease from the moment I arrive at the front desk. It was very crowded during the Silver Week holidays, but even so, the staff’s warm hospitality—such as wiping my rain-soaked suitcase with a spotless white towel—meant so much to me. The bath was just right, and as always, the meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Whether it was the food or the wine, I truly enjoyed a deeply satisfying time. I have an intense workload ahead through next year, but when I’m worn out again, I’d love to come back for some relaxation.

We stayed to celebrate my father’s 81st birthday. From the warm welcome at our car, the staff’s courteous and heartfelt hospitality left a strong impression, and we were able to spend the entire stay in great comfort. Not only was every detail thoughtfully taken care of—including arranging a wheelchair—but the all-inclusive offerings were also exceptionally fulfilling, allowing us to relax and enjoy a luxurious time without worrying about the clock. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious, and together with the atmosphere and interior design throughout the Hotel, we felt quality and attentive care in everything. I’m truly glad we chose this Hotel for such a special occasion as a birthday. I had assumed it might be used mostly by younger guests, but there were many older guests as well, so we could enjoy a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to everyone’s kindness, it became an unforgettable memory for us. This is a wonderful Hotel that makes us want to return in another season. Thank you very much for your sincere hospitality. We had seen a Review saying the pool temperature was low, and since it was a chilly day we were worried, but it was comfortably warm. The first-floor flooring is also not slippery, so I think it’s dog-friendly. If possible, it would have been even better if the second-floor flooring were made of similarly non-slip materials. The quality of the free-flowing Onsen water was great as well, and it was a wonderful Accommodation that makes not only dogs but also people want to come back.

This was my second visit this year, and it’s soothing no matter when I come. The service strikes just the right balance of attentiveness and privacy, the rooms are spacious, and the meals keep evolving—overall, it’s a place with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. 　This time in particular, the breakfast—renewed since this spring—was outstanding. In contrast to the gorgeous French dinner, it’s a simple Japanese-style meal, but each dish is truly delicious. They’ve also changed how they cook the rice, and the finishing bowl topped with dashi was superb. 　I’m already looking forward to being impressed again on my next visit.

Recently, I had been staying mostly at foreign-owned Resort Hotels, but I was truly impressed by the outstanding balance and high standards in every aspect—service, cuisine, Room quality, and the Onsen. It reminded me of the exceptional level of Japanese hospitality.

Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time, choosing your Accommodation based on Reviews around the Hakone area—and it turned into the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received impeccable hospitality in every way. Starting with the attendant whose wonderful smile looked after us, every member of staff was exactly as described in the Reviews—flawless in their manners and attentive to even the smallest details. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained, creating an exceptional sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also impressed by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and it felt almost too wonderful to receive a cute drawstring pouch filled with amenities as well. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl with “good fortune” written on it—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course itself was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, with staging that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, there was nothing to fault—the taste, portions, hot/cold balance, and perfectly timed serving and clearing were all impeccable. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home we couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality together. We would love to return again—thank you very much in advance when we do. We sincerely wish you continued prosperity going forward.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

This was my first stay. The welcome drink included alcohol, and it made a fantastic first impression. After checking in at the compact yet open and airy lobby, I headed to my room. It was efficiently laid out, spotless, and so well designed that it felt like my home had been upgraded. The semi-open-air hinoki bath smelled wonderful, the water temperature was easy to adjust, and I was able to relax fully at just the right temperature. The amenities were excellent, and I was especially happy to try a Kinujyo hair dryer for the first time. Dinner was a creative kaiseki course and truly outstanding. The Inaho dish had an addictive flavor, the apple gratin was delicious, and the hamo (pike conger) and duck dobin-mushi was exceptional. They kindly made rice balls from the matsutake rice I couldn’t finish, and even the late-night inari sushi snack was delicious—everything felt thoughtfully prepared with no shortcuts. The clam soup at breakfast was so good that I asked for seconds. I also appreciated that service at both dinner and breakfast was attentive yet unobtrusive—not overly pushy—which can be hard to balance. Check-out being at 12:00 allowed me to enjoy the hot spring again after breakfast. I had a wonderfully relaxing time enjoying both the hot springs and the meals, and I would love to stay again.

The hospitality was wonderful. We were on a family trip with my pregnant daughter, and we truly appreciate the room upgrade, the maternity loungewear and pregnancy pillow, and the thoughtful attention during meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. One thing that disappointed us was that after breakfast and before checkout, many staff members were unable to answer questions about the souvenir shop, which took some time. Thank you very much. We will definitely visit again.

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

I gifted my mother a stay here for her 75th birthday. She’s a real foodie who’s always trying restaurants, and she came home excited, saying, “The restaurant was simply amazing!” and “Dinner was especially outstanding!” They even celebrated with a dessert plate, and I’m truly grateful to all the staff. She also thoroughly enjoyed the snacks placed around the property and the great variety of books—making it the perfect celebration. This isn’t the kind of place that serves flashy dishes or relies on lavish luxury ingredients, so I hesitated a bit about giving it to my elderly mother—but it turned out to be exactly right for her! She said, “I was tired of the typical meals you find everywhere, so this was really wonderful,” “I hope more people learn how special it is,” and “It makes total sense that there are many international guests. It’s a truly rare restaurant where you can genuinely experience Japanese culture.” Looks like my choice as her daughter was spot on (lol). *On the other hand, if it’s not your style, it really won’t be—so please keep that in mind if you’re giving this as a gift!!!

The Okinawa Fair and the tuna carving show were amazing! This was our second visit during summer vacation, and it was so delicious that we’d love for you to hold it again next year. The open-air bath in the Room was also very comfortable, and no matter how many times we visit in a year, we never get tired of it. The warm smiles and attentive hospitality from the proprietress and all the staff are so comforting and relaxing that every time we come, we find ourselves wanting to return again soon. We’ll be back before the end of the year—thank you very much.

Stayed with my dog. Due to my mistake, I had made a Reservation for a different Room than intended, but they kindly helped me change it, which was a great relief. Both the Room and the in-room open-air bath were wonderful. The large public bath was spacious with excellent water quality, and I enjoyed it many times. The meals were excellent in both quality and quantity for both breakfast and dinner, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. It seems the owner will be changing, but I hope everything will continue just as it is now.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. From the moment we arrived until the very end, we truly had a wonderful time. The Room was spacious and spotless, with thoughtful attention to every detail. It was so comfortable that we honestly wished we could stay there forever. We stayed here during my 7th month of pregnancy for a maternity trip. It was our first time staying in Gora, and while choosing among the many Accommodations, we decided based on the availability of an in-room open-air bath, Reviews of the food, and the high level of service—and it was absolutely the right choice. Every dish was delicious, and from check-in to check-out we had a truly comfortable experience. It was our last trip as a couple before welcoming our baby, and it became a very memorable journey. My husband also said that although he has stayed at many Accommodations before, this one left a particularly strong impression and he was very satisfied. We would definitely like to stay again.

The meals are delicious, but above all, from the warm welcome to the send-off, every member of staff is truly wonderful, and no matter when we visit, we always feel at ease. We would love to come again during the autumn foliage season later this year—this is an essential place to stay for anyone traveling with a dog.

This is my favorite Hotel in Hakone Onsen. Every staff member is extremely kind and helpful. The dinner is enjoyable, as the appetizers vary each time we visit. After that, I get a body treatment; it’s always with the same therapist, which feels reassuring, and they are very skilled—I really like it. Highly recommended.

We chose the Anniversary Plan as it coincided with my husband’s five-year service refresh leave and the month of our wedding anniversary. On this Hakone trip, we used the free pass and hadn’t realized the hotel was on higher ground, so we quickly arranged a taxi to get there. After the hassle of getting there, I briefly wondered if we’d chosen the wrong place—but that concern disappeared as soon as we arrived. From the large lobby windows, we had a clear view of Lake Ashi, and it was immediately obvious this is a hotel with an outstanding view—scenery you can only get from an elevated location. Our room’s balcony also faced Lake Ashi and had a comfortable table set and an open-air bath. There was a Nespresso machine in the room, so we made coffee right away and enjoyed it on the balcony with the complimentary fruit while relaxing together and taking in the lake view. There were two types of coffee. I appreciated that one was decaf—perfect for evening so caffeine wouldn’t affect sleep—while in the morning there was a richer option to help you wake up. It felt very thoughtful. The bathing setup was also excellent: there was an indoor shower room, so we didn’t have to worry about getting cold while washing up, and then we could simply enjoy soaking in the open-air bath out on the scenic balcony. The hot spring water felt wonderful; I soaked many times and my skin felt silky smooth. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious, but especially memorable was the meat: thick yet incredibly tender, with enough fat to be flavorful while still tasting light. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had meat that good before. The tableware was also beautifully chosen throughout, making each course visually enjoyable as well. The staff were all polite and attentive. One newer staff member seemed possibly mixed heritage; her explanations were sometimes a little hard to catch, but her sincere effort came through clearly and left a great impression. Although we only told them about our anniversary on check-in day, they not only prepared a celebratory message plate but also took photos for us at short notice and presented them to us at breakfast the next morning—it became a wonderful keepsake. The next morning, lake fog covered all of Lake Ashi’s surface, creating an incredibly beautiful, dreamlike scene. We made coffee again in our room and enjoyed it together on the balcony—it truly felt like a luxurious time.
