This was my second visit this year, and it’s soothing no matter when I come. The service strikes just the right balance of attentiveness and privacy, the rooms are spacious, and the meals keep evolving—overall, it’s a place with an exceptionally high level of satisfaction. 　This time in particular, the breakfast—renewed since this spring—was outstanding. In contrast to the gorgeous French dinner, it’s a simple Japanese-style meal, but each dish is truly delicious. They’ve also changed how they cook the rice, and the finishing bowl topped with dashi was superb. 　I’m already looking forward to being impressed again on my next visit.

This was my second stay. I visited with my parents, the three of us. The bath is on the small side, but the Onsen water quality is excellent—personally, I think it’s far better than most Onsen. Meals were the highlight for me, and the cuisine here is outstanding, on par with kaiseki in Tokyo. With plenty of seasonal ingredients, everything tastes wonderful and you can truly enjoy each dish. It was a very relaxing one-night, two-day stay.

Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time, choosing your Accommodation based on Reviews around the Hakone area—and it turned into the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received impeccable hospitality in every way. Starting with the attendant whose wonderful smile looked after us, every member of staff was exactly as described in the Reviews—flawless in their manners and attentive to even the smallest details. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained, creating an exceptional sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also impressed by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and it felt almost too wonderful to receive a cute drawstring pouch filled with amenities as well. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl with “good fortune” written on it—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course itself was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, with staging that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, there was nothing to fault—the taste, portions, hot/cold balance, and perfectly timed serving and clearing were all impeccable. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home we couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality together. We would love to return again—thank you very much in advance when we do. We sincerely wish you continued prosperity going forward.

We stayed here to celebrate our dog’s first birthday. It was our first family trip with the puppy we had just welcomed home, and we had many worries, but thanks to the kindness of the staff and the well-stocked amenities, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. And above all, the meals were delicious!! We had both breakfast and dinner, and both left us completely satisfied—full in body and heart. The Onsen in the large public bath was wonderful as well. The open-air bath in our Room is not an Onsen, but it was spacious and relaxing. Our family has already been saying how we want to come back again soon.

We had a relaxing stay as a couple. The service was excellent, and the property was kept very clean. We stayed here during my 7th month of pregnancy for a maternity trip. It was our first time staying in Gora, and while choosing among the many Accommodations, we decided based on the availability of an in-room open-air bath, Reviews of the food, and the high level of service—and it was absolutely the right choice. Every dish was delicious, and from check-in to check-out we had a truly comfortable experience. It was our last trip as a couple before welcoming our baby, and it became a very memorable journey. My husband also said that although he has stayed at many Accommodations before, this one left a particularly strong impression and he was very satisfied. We would definitely like to stay again.

The meals are delicious, but above all, from the warm welcome to the send-off, every member of staff is truly wonderful, and no matter when we visit, we always feel at ease. We stayed to celebrate my father’s 81st birthday. From the warm welcome at our car, the staff’s courteous and heartfelt hospitality left a strong impression, and we were able to spend the entire stay in great comfort. Not only was every detail thoughtfully taken care of—including arranging a wheelchair—but the all-inclusive offerings were also exceptionally fulfilling, allowing us to relax and enjoy a luxurious time without worrying about the clock. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious, and together with the atmosphere and interior design throughout the Hotel, we felt quality and attentive care in everything. I’m truly glad we chose this Hotel for such a special occasion as a birthday. I had assumed it might be used mostly by younger guests, but there were many older guests as well, so we could enjoy a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to everyone’s kindness, it became an unforgettable memory for us. This is a wonderful Hotel that makes us want to return in another season. Thank you very much for your sincere hospitality. Not only the building itself, but also the hanging scrolls and other details in the Room were wonderful, allowing us to spend a relaxing time while appreciating art and culture. As we stayed on a weekday, I mentioned at check-in that I was interested in the building, and the Accommodation staff kindly showed us several of Meijikan’s highlight Rooms. My parents and I were very satisfied. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. The in-room dining was also excellent, including freshly cooked white rice prepared right in front of us and abalone with a tender bite. We will visit again.

We stayed in the annex. I had been a bit worried after reading reviews mentioning insects and wondered if it might be an older building, but it was absolutely wonderful. The building may be old, but it is kept very well maintained. As soon as we entered the room, it smelled pleasant from the entrance, and everything was very clean—there was no sign of insects at all, so we felt comfortable staying there. We were able to relax completely. The hot spring and the meals were both excellent.

The hospitality was wonderful. We were on a family trip with my pregnant daughter, and we truly appreciate the room upgrade, the maternity loungewear and pregnancy pillow, and the thoughtful attention during meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. One thing that disappointed us was that after breakfast and before checkout, many staff members were unable to answer questions about the souvenir shop, which took some time. Thank you very much. We will definitely visit again.

Our main purpose for this trip was to visit Odawara Castle. Although we booked at the last minute, the location was excellent, the room was very clean, and the breakfast had a great variety of options and was delicious. We would love to stay here again!

We stay here every year in early summer. It’s quiet, and we can relax at our own pace while enjoying the in-room bath whenever we like. The property is close to the museum, and after checking out we always stop by the museum and then head home by walking down through Gora Park. As seniors, we’ve been eating less over time, but the portion sizes here are always just right, and above all, each dish is carefully prepared and truly delicious. The staff are always smiling, with very polite service and language, so we can enjoy our stay comfortably and with peace of mind. It’s probably busy during the autumn foliage season and around New Year’s holidays, but we’re thinking of trying it next time.

The hot spring water is simply outstanding. Meeting the friendly and kind proprietress is also one of the highlights. I’ll be back again later this year. Thank you for everything!

We stayed here to coincide with my husband’s refresh leave for his 5-year work anniversary. Because it’s in a quiet location and has only a small number of rooms, it was the perfect place for us as a dual-income couple to escape our busy daily routine and enjoy truly luxurious time together. The in-room bath was very spacious, and we could relax comfortably as a couple. Above all, the hot spring water felt wonderful and left our skin silky smooth. Since it’s a semi-open-air bath, we found it especially comfortable. At many other inns, private open-air baths or in-room open-air baths often have the washing area outside as well, but here you can simply open the window to make it semi-open-air—so we didn’t end up shivering while washing. During our one-night stay, we used the bath five times; even at checkout, we wished we could soak one more time and were sad to leave. The washbasin area was also spacious, so we could both get ready slowly in the morning. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious: sashimi with carefully crafted sauces, many bite-sized seasonal dishes served in a basket arrangement, and seasonal chestnut rice cooked on the spot. Breakfast was also very filling—the grilled fish and tofu were especially good. Yukata were provided as loungewear, but since I tend to get a cold stomach easily, I thought it would be nice if there were pants-style options like samue. Also, since this trip fell during our wedding anniversary month, I felt an anniversary plan would be appreciated. It wouldn’t need to be elaborate—something simple like an celebratory message on a dessert plate or taking a photo and gifting it in a small frame would make for a lovely keepsake. All of the staff were courteous and warm-hearted in their hospitality, which made this trip extremely satisfying.

It was a lovely, small Hotel with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The free-flow option was great. The chandelier in the dining room was sparkling and beautiful. The meals were delicious as well. I was satisfied with the Onsen, the Room, and the service. Above all, it wasn’t noisy or crowded—just calm and peaceful.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

I gifted my mother a stay here for her 75th birthday. She’s a real foodie who’s always trying restaurants, and she came home excited, saying, “The restaurant was simply amazing!” and “Dinner was especially outstanding!” They even celebrated with a dessert plate, and I’m truly grateful to all the staff. She also thoroughly enjoyed the snacks placed around the property and the great variety of books—making it the perfect celebration. This isn’t the kind of place that serves flashy dishes or relies on lavish luxury ingredients, so I hesitated a bit about giving it to my elderly mother—but it turned out to be exactly right for her! She said, “I was tired of the typical meals you find everywhere, so this was really wonderful,” “I hope more people learn how special it is,” and “It makes total sense that there are many international guests. It’s a truly rare restaurant where you can genuinely experience Japanese culture.” Looks like my choice as her daughter was spot on (lol). *On the other hand, if it’s not your style, it really won’t be—so please keep that in mind if you’re giving this as a gift!!!

This is my favorite Hotel in Hakone Onsen. Every staff member is extremely kind and helpful. The dinner is enjoyable, as the appetizers vary each time we visit. After that, I get a body treatment; it’s always with the same therapist, which feels reassuring, and they are very skilled—I really like it. Highly recommended.
