I stayed here on a trip with my sister. Everyone’s smiles and hard work were truly soothing. Each dish was beautifully seasoned, and I was genuinely impressed by how delicious everything was. The bath temperature was just right, and I could have stayed in forever—I was able to relax and forget about everyday life. If I may ask for one thing, it would be nice to have an extra yukata, and having towels available at the bath would make it easier to drop in anytime. Seeing the stars so big and close felt like a once-in-a-lifetime memory. And the beer you treated us to was fantastic (laugh)—thank you very much.

Upon arrival, we were guided by a cart to our Room while still in the car, and the check-in process and explanations were handled smoothly and efficiently. We took a walk before dinner, and when we entered the main building, it was a wonderful place with great atmosphere, where we enjoyed a very delicious dinner. I felt it was great to be able to spend such a relaxing time with my wife.

We stayed for two nights as a couple at Daimaru Ryokan in Nagayu Onsen, drawn by its famous lukewarm baths. It far exceeded our expectations, and we enjoyed an exceptionally luxurious hot-spring retreat. [Hot Springs (Ramune Onsenkan and the indoor baths)] What delighted us most was that guests of Daimaru Ryokan can enter the public bath “Ramune Onsenkan” free of charge as many times as they like. We have always loved lukewarm baths and Ramune Onsenkan, so during our stay we visited again and again to enjoy long, relaxing soaks. Spending time immersed in the water eased away everyday fatigue, leaving us feeling remarkably refreshed both physically and mentally. The ryokan’s own indoor baths are also excellent. With a thoughtfully designed layout that offers a comfortable sense of privacy, we were able to enjoy high-quality hot-spring water together in a calm setting—another wonderful memory from this trip. [Meals] We stayed for two nights, and both breakfast and dinner were truly delicious. The meals featured Oita’s local ingredients along with carefully crafted regional dishes; every meal impressed us with the quality of the produce and the attentive seasoning. Even over consecutive nights, we never tired of it and enjoyed everything to the very end. [Overall] Two blissful nights soaking in superb lukewarm waters, savoring delicious local flavors, and relaxing from the heart. This is a wonderful ryokan that makes you think, “I will definitely come back.” We would love to return to both Daimaru Ryokan and Ramune Onsenkan again.

I stayed here to celebrate a friend’s 70th birthday. The Facility is old, but well maintained, and I had a very comfortable stay. Dinner in particular was excellent—the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere (the live piano performance was wonderful), and both the wine and the food were delicious. They also prepared a celebratory dessert plate, and at breakfast they made a special drink along with congratulatory words. It was a wonderful celebration trip. Thank you very much.

True to the meaning of an auberge, the full-course dinner and the breakfast are exquisite. The tableware, flowers, furnishings, and above all the madam and the chef’s son made it even more special, allowing us to spend a truly wonderful and enriching time. Google Maps navigation led us onto an unexpectedly difficult road to reach the Accommodation, but from the warm welcome by the madam until our departure, our whole family was deeply moved by their heartfelt hospitality. This is an unforgettable Accommodation we would love to visit again in a different season.

I had been interested in this facility for a long time and finally got the chance to visit. This trip was also to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, and she was truly delighted. We were even given flowers by the staff, which deeply moved her. The onsen experience was wonderful. The walking bath requires swimwear (free rental available for guests) and is 50 meters one way. The water temperature is on the cooler side, but it was perfect for exercise. There are two open-air baths along the walking bath where you can warm up while enjoying the serene flow of Serikawa River nearby. Even though it rained during our visit, there were roofs that kept us comfortable, and the beautifully maintained plants around looked stunning with raindrops on them—some flowers were blooming too, adding to the atmosphere. There’s also a low-temperature sauna where swimwear is required as well as spacious indoor baths that can be enjoyed without swimwear. What stood out most was the food—it was absolutely exceptional! Every dish was not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious. The order and combination of courses were thoughtfully planned out. The main course featuring Bungo beef steak was exquisite, and the sashimi had outstanding freshness with generous portions provided. Being able to enjoy such top-tier cuisine prepared by a skilled chef at this price point felt like an incredible privilege! Breakfast too exceeded all expectations. The cottage-style accommodation units were impeccably clean and very comfortable to stay in. One minor downside we noticed: doors at places like restrooms or room entrances closed quickly instead of softly shutting—they almost caught our feet once or twice—so I’m deducting one star for safety concerns here. That said, we are extremely satisfied with this amazing facility overall after such a long time since encountering something so wonderful. Next time we plan to bring along our children’s families or friends! Thank you so much for everything during this stay!

We stayed here at short notice so my son could attend a rugby training camp. Even with rising prices and during summer vacation, we were able to stay at a great rate—with dinner and breakfast included. Dinner (including chicken hot pot) came with an all-you-can-drink option, and we left completely satisfied. Breakfast was also just the right amount. The Onsen temperature was perfect as well. One thing that concerned me was the surroundings—not the building itself, but the area around it. It’s a shame, because the food and Onsen are excellent. With a bit of tidying up, I think it would feel much nicer. The scenery really matters—atmosphere and charm, too. With hopes for improvement, I’d like to stay again. Thank you as well for accommodating my son when his plan suddenly changed to No Meals Included.

We visited recently as a family. The Facility was well maintained and very clean, and the Room was also spotless and well cleaned. The futon was high quality, and we were very satisfied. Dinner was generous in portion size; we grilled and ate Bungo beef and Toyo Shamo chicken, both wonderfully firm in texture and truly delicious. The staff were excellent as well—we will definitely be back. We look forward to staying again next time.

The Japanese-style Room was spacious and clean, allowing us to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. The Onsen was excellent—at first it felt a little mild, but after soaking for about 10 minutes, my body warmed up and I could truly unwind.

The bath was excellent. Due to the building’s structure, footsteps echoed, and I woke up several times late at night. From early morning, the noise from demolition work next door was loud, so I couldn’t relax. That was just a matter of timing, so it couldn’t be helped. I used the breakfast-only plan. The salt-grilled amago (sweetfish) with roe was delicious. The staff were very kind, and I had a comfortable stay. Thank you very much.
