I was looking for a highly rated Onsen Ryokan to stay at in Okayama, so I chose this one. It was a great choice. The meals were exactly as described—quality over quantity—and the portions were perfect for older guests. It’s also an all-inclusive property, so I enjoyed a variety of drinks and snacks; the doburoku in particular was excellent. I don’t recall drinking it much before, but it went down smoothly, and next time I think I’ll stick with doburoku after my beer. I’m glad I stayed here.

We stayed for one night during the Obon holiday period. The front desk staff warmly welcomed us. The Room felt very new and was impeccably clean, so we had a very comfortable stay. It was great to have both yukata and pajamas available. They also quickly exchanged the yukata size for us, which was very helpful. We headed to the bath right away. The large public bath was very clean, and we loved that the shower kept running without having to press the button repeatedly! Bathing while looking at the castle was wonderful. The hair dryers in the changing area were ReFa. The muscat vinegar drink in the post-bath lounge was so delicious that even our children—who usually find fruit vinegar drinks too sour—went back for seconds. Since our Room included lounge access, we used the massage chair there, enjoyed some drinks, and felt refreshed. Also, the bed in our Room was incredibly comfortable—I may have slept better than I ever have while traveling. I think it’s a great fit for those who like pillows that are fluffy, soft, and low-profile. The next morning we had breakfast at Mimasaka Kitchen. We already knew it had a good reputation, but it exceeded our expectations—the lightly seasoned side dishes and wide variety of desserts that weren’t overly sweet were more than satisfying. Even better were the onigiri made by one of the staff members—perfectly light and fluffy—and our whole family couldn’t stop praising them. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this Accommodation. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us during our stay.

My one-year-old son and I stayed for three nights. The staff were very kind—thank you so much for bringing a chair at breakfast and clearing our tray. We had a wonderful stay. When my son fell, you promptly brought ice and a bandage. There is also a large public bath on the first floor, and the Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, so we slept well. We would love to stay again.

A typhoon was approaching, my partner’s dentures weren’t ready, and we set off on our trip with all sorts of worries. We were even told by a local stranger that Yunogo Onsen was far away. But thanks to Nishikien’s hospitality and the outstanding sukiyaki dinner, all those concerns turned out to be unfounded. The room was spacious, and we got plenty of exercise for our legs and back. They also kindly accommodated our personal requests, making it a very satisfying start to our itinerary. The sukiyaki at dinner in particular was incredibly generous—plenty of beef and vegetables kept coming, and the sauce was delicious as well. There’s none of that sad feeling you get at famous sukiyaki restaurants where you end up counting slices; without claiming any “premium grade,” it simply tastes wonderful. Thank you for a lovely time that helped us overcome a rough start.

I considered staying at my parents’ home while my mother was in the hospital, but it was too far from the hospital, so I looked for a good place nearby. The Reviews were positive, so I decided to stay here. This Hotel is also where my cousin held her wedding, so I’ve known it for a long time, but since it’s local to me I’d never had a reason to stay before. This was my first time staying here as I now live outside the prefecture, and it really was a great Hotel just as the Reviews said. Everything was very clean, and the bath was spacious and nice. All of the staff were polite and wonderful. The parking lot was also large and convenient. I’d like to stay again if I have the chance. If anything, the only minor issue was that the washbasin area felt a bit small.

Located in an Onsen area, but it is not an Onsen. However, there is a large public bath, and it is clean. The rooms are also clean and give a comforting feeling like returning to your family home. It was very relaxing. A very nice accommodation. Yukata, toothbrushes, and towels are provided. However, razors are not available, so please bring one if you need to shave.

The front desk staff provided courteous and pleasant service during both check-in and check-out. The complimentary services were exceptional, especially the free dinner bowls, which were the highlight of my stay. I only needed to purchase a salad and edamame from a convenience store to complete a satisfying dinner. That evening, there were curry and two types of bowls (frozen pre-packaged beef bowl and ginger pork bowl), both of which were truly delicious. The free soft drink bar even included an alcohol button, offering highballs and sours, with sake available nearby. Additionally, there were stick drinks, tea bags, soup packets, mini ramen, ochazuke packs, and bean snacks, making the service truly outstanding. However, I was disappointed not to find a cold water pitcher, which I believe is in high demand. The hotel also has an attached izakaya, which I considered visiting if I wanted more drinks. However, the loud voices of some patrons early in the evening made it uninviting, so I decided not to go. When I asked the front desk about takeout options, they mentioned it was a separate business, so they were unsure. In the end, the free bowls and drinks were more than enough, and I didn’t use the izakaya. The breakfast venue is the same izakaya, operating in a buffet style. Nearly half the seating area is used for the food stations, resulting in limited seating and potential wait times depending on the timing. When I stayed at Toyoko Inn Kurashiki, the lobby served as the breakfast area, which was quite small, but they provided takeout bento boxes for room dining, allowing for a relaxed breakfast experience. If the crowding persists, this could be a consideration for improvement. The bed in the room had a springy mattress, which I personally found uncomfortable. This was my second experience, after Cuore Kurashiki Hotel, where I bounced too much during a turn and fell off the bed. The height caused me to hit my knee hard, leaving a significant bruise. The rental services were excellent, so I would appreciate the addition of bed guards or floor impact-absorbing mats for rental. This would provide peace of mind for future stays. Thank you for considering this suggestion.

The front desk staff are kind and attentive, and a free dinner is also provided. There are supermarkets nearby, which is very convenient. McDonald’s and Osaka Ohsho are also within walking distance! The paid breakfast options, including curry, are very helpful. I would like to stay here again.
